Filling in what's lost [Othello, closed].

[Marii K. Kazeraikou]

((OOC: I know that the banner says spring, but I'll just go with what our IIC calendar says. For an idea of how Marii looks like at the moment: look here.))

Autumn was almost here. Winds were blowing through the streets of Kumogakure while the sky was getting greyer every day. The sun was not as warm as earlier either...which was a bit sad.
'Looks like I'm done with my pat-'. Some raindrops hit the top of her head and the female looked up.

"AI!" muttered Marii when a couple more raindrops hit her in the eyes. She looked around to see if there was anywhere she could be dry until the storm ended. The young woman was on village patrol and was wearing her uniform.
'AHA!' thought the Jounin when she spotted a manga café. She entered the small establishment a minute later.

The small café was nearly empty apart from some waitresses plus two guys discussing a manga. "HELLO! Welcome to our café!" greeted an enthusiastic teenager girl with pink hair in two braids.
She was wearing a grey maid costume while her shoes were black. On the top of that, she was wearing long white stockings.

"Uh...thanks?" replied the female with an unsure smile. She then moved over to the manga rack to see if there was something interesting. 'Let's see if they have that samurai manga I like so much' thought the brunette.
She then turned a corner before she bumped into someone. "AUCH!" said the young woman as she collided with the person.

[Othello]

Othello just came back from the counter after ordering his favorite green tea with honey. It always made me feel good during a storm, relaxing all the nerves so much so that his senses seemed to dull. As he was sipping the tea he did not notice he was about to bump into a very old friend. The two collided almost sending Othello's tea to the ground but he caught it with his hand just in time. Standing up straight after leaning in for the grab Othello, while still looking down or at least his face still facing downward, immediately recognized Marii's scent. This woman has known him since he was 9 and even supported him during his time as Raikage and all he does is keep doing these disappearing acts on her.

Hopefully she would not be too mad. Othello is adorned by a deep blue kimono and wooden sandals. The kimono had golden flowers beautifully intricate into the shoulders and lined to the back. The color was unknown to Othello but to others it was beautiful. His walking stick was folded to appear smaller on his lower back, it was the most relaxing position he had for it. His hair was, as always, jet black and straight to the halfway point on his back. Othello stood up straight for Marii' to see his face.

"Hello Marii... Its good to see you again..." This was true it was good to see her on his side, but was she glad to see him again? There were too many things that happened yet again to explain to her. She "looked" different, based on how the sound waves came back it looked like her hair was done differently and her clothing even more. She has grown into a beautiful young woman, only thing that Othello regretted was that he would never truly see how beautiful with his own eyes.

Tsue Aramusha (Staff of the Daredevil)

Effect: A Multi-Weapon that is in the shape of a long staff. A weapon that grants the user's capabilities of having a Long Staff, using a Grapling Hook, Two Large Sectional Staffs, Two Nunchakus, Four Batons, and two Small Staffs created by a secondary Larger Staff.
Special: Used as part of the Shitakuma weapon of choice.

Description: The walking staff is created of a length in fifty eight inches and a diameter of two inches. The staff has different designs and looks depending on the user. Reasons why is so then the length of the staff can be a directness to keep those who wish to harm the user away from them. The staff can divided up into three weapons when divided in half. The lower half when twisted in a certain way by a switch, along with a strong pull can create another staff of equal size. Along the middle of the newly staff, when twisted by a switch and pulled the staff can be divided up into two small staffs, or sticks that is capable for smaller range combat where each stick is in the size of fourteen inches and a half. The upper half of the staff is capable of being turned into two nunchakus by a couple of twists of a few switches. When pulled out the weapons show that wires are in place of the small batons keeping them in place in order to keep them as a nunchaku. The wires are in the length of eight inches, while the batons are in the length of seven and one forth of an inch. Now on the way lower half of the staff where a knob is located, if a certain switch that is pressed which is about six inches higher then the knob three sectional long attaching are shown to create a grappling hook. Within the staff is wire that is ten times of the length of the staff creating a great asset for the user by making a lengthily weapon. An extra thousand Ryo, a user is able to have tiny pin sized holes added into the staff allowing a Shitakuma member to turn the staff into a Sensory Pole, but much larger, still only allowing the pole to vibrate the Infrasounds into the distance of 100 meters.

Smell Decoder

Skill: NinJutsu
Effect: When a user is suddenly surounded by multiples of smell, the user is capable of decoding all the smells so then the user can figure out which smell they wish to find so then a user is capable of following or pursuing who they wish.
Special: ---
Drawback: The more the smells that exist within a certain area the longer it takes for the user to decifer which sent of smell they wish to find.
Description: Every human being, every animal has a certain sense of smell within them that they emit outwards. Within the mind's eye where there are multiple types of smells the mind feels somewhat jumbled up. When first llearned a user can take an amount of 3 smells at a time and deciefer each sent of smell to figure out where each sent runs off to. To decifier the smells and it taking the time to do so takes up a round amount of time. Each time learned the user is capable of pinpointing another type of smell to where the user is capable of deciefering another smell. Every three sents of smells, it takes a number of another round. This means that six scents takes up a length of two rounds.
Limit: Shitakuma Technique.

Kusomimi (HellsEars)

Skill: NinJutsu
Effect: Without this Jutsu the Clan is capable of just listening with sharpen hearing. What this Jutsu does is by using the chakra along their eardrum, labyrinth system, as well as the outer ear of the body the user makes their ear into something of a sonar. This sonar system enables the brain to remember certain points by sound wave frequencies that hits the ear from a pebble hitting the water, to a person walking along grass. The Sonar system enables the Shitakuma clan to basically see. This is greatly used when Rain falls down for every time a drop hits the ground it emits a sound so basically they are capable to see for the first time in their lives. When first learned the distance that one is capable of understanding and remembering is the distance of fifty meters. After each time learned the distance goes up by twenty meters.
Special: The first time learned the user must do the signs of Dragon, Rabbit, Dragon, Ram. After the first time there would be no need for the seals.
Drawback: Must be trained into this more then once. Without the proper training of a technique such as Kusokesuni and Advanced version sounds could cause dizziness or damage to the user. The sounds to create this must be sounds that are greatly abrupt and fast which must be near the ear like a Flash/Bang grenade.
Description: When sound frequencies hit the ear it creates a sonar in which the mind remembers in a certain distance until the sound waves hit the ear once again. It looks as if the user is capable of seeing in such a way but it is just a technique that enables the user to know where to go and how far objects are at. They are capable of seeing shapes, and size, but the thing is they are not capable of seeing defined objects.
Limit: Only a technique for the Shitakuma Clan

[Marii K. Kazeraikou]

"I'm so-". Her voice came to a halt when she saw who stood in front of her. It was someone who she had not seen in almost a year.
"Hello Marii...Its good to see you again..." told the familiar male in front of her.

His hair had grown quite long; it was at least four inches longer than hers. Othello was wearing a sapphire blue kimono with golden flowers plus wooden sandals. Her eyes glanced on his face.
The male was looking more like a man now thanks to his more defined features. But a part of her would always think of him as a coward for what he did.

"Othello? What's bringing you here?" inquired the female with a slightly strained voice. Her heart was beating a tad bit faster from anger mixed with an unknown feeling.
The former Raikage HAD after all been one of her best friends for nearly half of her life. But he was also her ex and had even left her without explaining why.

"Are you here to taste that super sugar free cocoa from our childhood? I hope they still have it" told Marii with a smile. This manga café had been in the village for a long time and was VERY popular among the comic fans.
She went over to the desk where you could order drinks. An inky-haired girl wearing a similar grey costume stood behind the counter.

'YES! THEY STILL HAVE THE COCOA!' exclaimed her inner after checking the menu.
"Hello. I would like a glass of the sugar free cocoa please" said the young woman with a polite smile. A part of her was glad that it was midday or else there would be more people here.

[Othello]

He heard how strained her voice was, he heard her heartbeat. Why it was beating so fast there could have been a million reasons, all Othello hoped weren't too bad. She brought up the Cocoa and even was ahead of him and started to order it. The green tea was already forgotten on a table where he left it while walking with Marii to the counter to order. "Make that two." Othello said to the counter lady.

He had to think of what to tell Marii about why he is back in Kumogakure. Should he lie again and hide things to protect her; no he couldn't she would be hurt and insulted if he did that. He has never been able to protect her from anything, even if he tried so it was best to be honest. "Its about my family Marii..." His words hurt even bringing them up. His family was slaughtered when he was young, for all he knows hes the last of his clan. He only remembered that one single man had done it. His features were blurred in his mind, be it that he was trying to block it out or actually doesn't remember was questionable. "I believe I have a lead on who killed them" The counter lady then just placed both Cocoa's on the table. Picking his cup images of Marii and him being here when they were young flashed through. There was even a moment where Othello fell through the roof one time trying to learn to cling to the surface with his chakra, he wasnt experienced enough as it was to stay on it. The memories brought a warm smile to Othello's face.

Othello would walk towards the garden part of the Cafe towards the back so that they could enjoy the fresh rain air. There was a canopy so the tables would not get wet nor the customers.

[Marii K. Kazeraikou]

"Make that two" informed the male as they placed their orders. The female picked up some money and paid the waitress. Both of them then headed out for the small garden part in the back of the café.
"It's about my family Marii..." told Othello when they had found their table. This made her eyes widen because her friend had became an orphan 18 years ago.

"I believe I have a lead on who killed them" informed the young man as they sat down. The waitress arrived moments later with their cocoa. "Thanks" said Marii when she placed the cocoa in front of her.
She took a sip of her drink while her eyes glanced around to see if there was anyone nearby. This information could be quite dangerous despite that her friend was from Kaze no kuni.

"How did you get that clue exactly? It's been quite a while since the incident after all" stated the young woman with a more neutral voice. She tried to keep her voice a bit quiet; she knew he could hear her after all.
This was one part that had been a bit confusing and amusing during their friendship. The Jounin remembered when she tried to understand what the Genin could or could not 'see'.

'I just hope he's not going on this 'suicide travel' like Kininata...unless his enemy is really weak or something' thought the female. She could not stand the stress of losing more close friends. This was a part the brunette HATED about being a shinobi.
Not to mention that he had been gone for so long without even telling her. 'Why do I always fall for the heroes?' mentally sighed the young woman while she closed her eyes.

[Othello]

Othello payed attention to Marii's body language, from the widening of her eyes to the tenseness of her body when he mentioned it was about his family. She knew him, she KNEW him. So hearing about something that brought so much misery into his life of course would hurt her as much as it would him, she loved him Othello never questioned that. He loved her and that was the only reason he was sharing this pain, he already abandoned her once and that still is a open wound that stings.

"I was wandering around Yuki no Kuni when my clans name was mentioned at a local inn. We were nomadic so I can understand why our name is still being brought up but what he said next shocked me" Othello took a sip from his cocoa and breathed heavily before choosing his next words. "He said that the man who had slaughtered them had escaped to the north, escaping or killing assassins who got in his way. He's been there for years just living so carelessly..." Othello's right hand was shaking in anger but he put it underneath the table so that Marii wouldn't worry too much. Should he even confide in her about this? 'Hasn't she been through enough' Othello thought.

"I followed the man to his room, I broke in as he slept and...asked him further about what he was talking about earlier. He fought at first but then he told me everything... I know what he looks like Marii...I want to go find him..." Even though saying this Othello didn't know what he would do if he actually found the man responsible for taking away his family. How would he react? Anger perhaps? Those days should have been behind him, why must they now come back up. "I'm telling you this Marii because your the only one I truly trust, have ever trusted really. If you don't want to help me I understand but I will come back to you, I'm not going to leave your side again" Even with his dead eyes Othello tried his best to guide them to meet Marii's gaze so that she knows what he says is true. With her eyes she could always tell if he was lying or truthful.

[Marii K. Kazeraikou]

The female noticed that he was breathing a bit heavier than usual. It was clear that he was quite nervous to continue with his story.

"He said that the man who had slaughtered them had escaped to the north, escaping or killing assassins who got in his way. He's been there for years just living so carelessly..." continued Othello. Marii saw that his hands were shaking plus that his silver eyes were gleaming in anger.
'He's either telling the truth or have become a very good liar' thought the young woman. She decided to be neutral until he told her the end of this.

"I followed the man to his room, I broke in as he slept and...asked him further about what he was talking about earlier. He fought at first but then he told me everything... I know what he looks like Marii...I want to go find him..." muttered the young man.
She felt that the little colour left in her face vanished within moments. Was he really going on a suicide mission!?

"I'm telling you this Marii because your the only one I truly trust, have ever trusted really. If you don't want to help me I understand but I will come back to you, I'm not going to leave your side again" finished the Genin.
The Jounin took a deep breath while her mind started to work on what he had said. He had found someone who knew about his family as well as who killed them all those years ago.

'It's been 18 years. Even if that guy was young at the time, he's probably 40 years old or more now' thought the female after some thinking. Not to mention that the male in front of her was a great fighter despite not having eyesight.
She then started to think of his offer of going with him to find the killer...but the answer was clear. Especially after what had happened in Tsuki no kuni just two months ago.

"I'm afraid I can't go with you even if I want to. First, I'm going to be promoted in December to clan head. Which means I have to stay alive so I can get that position" told the brunette.
Her last sentence was serious, but her face had a somewhat amused look.
"My second reason is that I made a promise to my boyfriend. We promised each other to not go on any deadly missions or travels until further notice" informed the young woman.

It hurt her a bit to tell him about Kininata, but a part of her reminded how long it had been since they had broken up. It had been almost six years ago since the guy had left the village without even telling her. She then suddenly remembered the herbs she had found during his absence.
"But I may give you something that can help you quite a lot on your journey. You see...I became an herbalist for about five years ago" muttered Marii with a low voice.

"Some of them are capable of healing wounds or even restore your chakra. Which should give you the upper hand in case you need to fight them. I think you have to decide whether you want to go or not...I don't know how it is to not have a family.
But make sure you'll be back before December rolls around. I would like you to be on the promotion ceremony since I still consider you to be one of my best friends" stated the female with a sincere smile.

[Othello]

She has changed so much, grown so much' thought Othello as she rejected his request and even told him about her boyfriend. Of course she has one, Othello was legally dead for a couple of years to Kumogakure. 'Head of her clan?' Othello's anger had subsided from the memories that brought him pain and was replaced with great admiration. Othello would grab one of Marii's hands in his own over the table. It felt warm, and with Othello's sensitivity he felt every little crevasse on her skin, every oil. It felt good but she was no longer his he had to let her go.

"I wouldn't miss it for the world" He said about the promotion. "I'm sure you will lead your clan into a new, bright future. Just don't forget about me when your the leader" Othello chuckled for a bit letting go of her hand and adjusting in his chair. Seeing her there in front of him made Othello so proud; since they were kids she had helped him when he first began to learn his abilities. He was glad that now she would be able to help the rest of her clan. "I know you will do well, its just a shame that it took this long for you to get that position" he was so sure of it. She mentioned the herb and how she became proficient with mixing and gathering them, he was amazed how she grown. "I would like that" he said when she said she'd help him at least with the herbs.
"Tell me more on what I have missed out after all these years, I feel so out of touch. Like this person your dating tell me more about him, I mean your my best friend I would like to know about the man that has stolen your heart" Othello leaned in and smiled.

[Marii K. Kazeraikou]

The male suddenly grabbed onto her hand. It was not as warm as hers plus that the skin felt a bit dry. A part of the female wanted to jerk her hand away while the sensible part advised her to let him go of it himself.
'He BETTER remember that you're not his anymore! If not, we'll slap the HECK out of him like we did the last time!' stated her inner with fury in her eyes.

"I wouldn't miss it for the world. I'm sure you will lead your clan into a new, bright future. Just don't forget about me when your the leader" chuckled Othello as he let go of her hand.
"I know you will do well, its just a shame that it took this long for you to get that position" told the young man. The last reply made her ice blue eyes flare until she remembered that he used to be the Raikage.

He agreed on the herbs, which made her a little relieved. Herbs were quite powerful if the right person was preparing them.
"Tell me more on what I have missed out after all these years, I feel so out of touch. Like this person your dating tell me more about him, I mean your my best friend I would like to know about the man that has stolen your heart" inquired the Genin with a friendly smile.

Marii bit her lower lip while her mind raced. Just what should she tell him about her boyfriend? 'I guess I can let him know the basics...he has missed out on a lot after all' decided the young woman.
"My boyfriend is someone who I met for the first time nearly twenty years ago. But we did not reunite until my Chuunin exam in Cha no kuni for six years ago" started the Jounin.

'Six years!? Whoa, time has passed FAST' thought the female when she realized what she had said.
"He is a shinobi who is currently a Chuunin plus that he is about a year younger than I am. The only bad thing is that he does not live in Kumogakure...which is a bit sad. But at least we've been able to keep up the relationship so far" finished the brunette after checking the surroundings for listeners.

'Looks like we're alone' concluded the young woman moments later. "Then for my family. My mother is working full-time at the Academy as an assistant while my father is still having his position" informed Marii.
"Makoto-kun became a Chuunin five years ago, but I'm sure you know that already. He's currently taking classes at the tactics department at the institute" continued the female.

"Ryouta-kun just became a Chuunin after a lot of hard work. He's thinking about specializing in crafting weapons and machines that can be used by shinobis or civilians. Two of my cousins are parents now while one of them has recently passed their Jounin exam. Which is great, but he's currently staying at the hospital with some bad injuries" told the Jounin.

The latter formed a lump in her throat. Partially since seeing her cousins in bandages was not a fun feeling despite that she knew the risk. But the hospital was also where she heard about her best friend.
She inhaled a shaky breath while her eyes pinched shut for a moment. Shinobis were not supposed to cry, which was a rule the young woman broke quite often.

[Othello]

(Sorry for the late post Marii o.o)

The last thing she said about her cousin who became a Jounin must have hurt her because Othello was sure he heard her heart slow down to a somber. He didn't mean to bring up more pain. That was one thing Othello seemed to notice they connected on. No matter how they got there, they have both undergone so many pains that has not left them with scarred hearts. Othello decided it was best to change the subject. "He is lucky to have you in his life" Othello brought up the warm smile he use to have years ago when he was but a child with Marii. That was funny fore he had not smiled like that since he left her, not once...

Still Othello was worried about Marii's cousin and he wanted to help reassure her that he will be fine. "Marii...if your cousin is anything like you I'm more than sure he'll pull through. Your family has always been strong, not just physically but emotionally as well. Your will is your greatest strength not your eyes, and because of that I'm sure he will be fine" He said as he shut his eyes and enjoyed his cocoa. Just as his lips touched the cup something was shot out of a tree two streets down from where they were sitting. It was a tiny needle and it was heading straight for Othello. Without dropping his cocoa Othello grabbed the needle out of the air with his finger tips and threw it back towards the tree, whoever or whatever launched the needle at him was going to be in for a surprise when they were hit with there own weapon. The needle hit its mark. Othello looked at Marii with the same look he had when he teamed up with her a long time ago, a look that didn't even need words attached. Lets get whatever did that was basically the saying.

As Othello glided on the rooftops with ease he spread his hearing out to see if there were anymore attacks on him or Marii. This must have to do with the man from the North. As they finally approached the tree Othello would 'see' a man laying down on the floor dead at the tree base. His skin was festering with new blisters; the poison must have ran its course quickly. The smell was putrid to his nose but he withstood it was he check the body for any signs of ID. None were there except or a red bandanna with a black eye on it. "I don't know who sent this assassin but they were aiming for me. He must know I'm on to him..." Othello said while standing up dusting himself off. "Sorrythis had to happen after we haven't seen each other Marii"

"He is lucky to have you in his life" told the male with a sincere smile. It made her smile as well. "Thanks" replied the female in a low voice.
She took a sip of her cup, but a part of her was uncomfortable. It felt like there was someone nearby.

"Marii...if your cousin is anything like you I'm more than sure he'll pull through. Your family has always been strong, not just physically but emotionally as well. Your will is your greatest strength not your eyes, and because of that I'm sure he will be fine" assured Othello.
Marii looked up at him with wide eyes. It was not very often that people had said she was strong due to something that was not related to her bloodlimit.

"I suppose so. I'm glad I have a family where most of the members are still alive" told the young woman. She then remembered her teammates Okuda as well as Raika who were both orphans.
Not to mention the young man who sat in front of him. Why was it that so many shinobis had lost one or more parents due to conflict?

She did not have time to think since something came flying towards them from the corner of the eye. The Jounin pushed her chair backwards before she spun around with a kunai in her hand. Her Genin friend had managed to catch the needle with just his bare hands.
He then threw the needle back in the direction where it came from. 'I forgot for a moment that he uses sound to see' remembered the female.

Peridot green met ice blue. Neither of them needed to talk; they knew that there was something serious going on. Both of them went towards the direction where the needle had come from.
The sight that met them made the brunette a little queasy. A guy that was close to their age laid near the base of a tree, seemingly dead.

'Looks like the needle hit him in the chest' thought the young woman after looking a bit closer. He was wearing grey clothes from top to toe while his shoes were black. But there was no hitai-ate or ID that could tell them who he was or his profession.
'He must be an assassin...!' concluded Marii mentally with a scared look at his face. HOW had someone like this managed to get this far into the village!?

Or maybe this was someone who actually lived here!? The only clue they had was his red bandana with a black eye on it.
"I don't know who sent this assassin, but they were aiming for me. He must know I'm on to him..." muttered the male. The female nodded in agreement.

"Sorry this had to happen after we haven't seen each other Marii" told the inky-haired guy while he brushed some dust off his clothes. "I'll call for backup. For what we know, he may have friends waiting for you elsewhere" told the young woman.
She picked up her wireless radio. "Hello...can you hear me?" inquired the Jounin.

"We're hearing you loud and clear" replied a male voice. "One of our shinobis just managed to escape a failed assassination attempt five minutes ago. We have the body here as well as the weapon...we're near Amagumo avenue" informed the brunette.
"Roger that. We'll send some agents right away" stated the voice.

"Thanks. Over and out" finished the young woman. She then looked back at her friend after putting her radio back in her flak jacket.
"Some agents are coming over here soon. They're going to investigate this" assured Marii with a small smile.

[Marii K. Kazeraikou]

A male frog ANBU plus an owl female ANBU agent arrived five minutes later. "Thank you for calling us so fast. We'll take this body with us" told the male.
"You're welcome" replied the female with a smile. Both of the masked shinobis then grabbed the body before they disappeared.

'Hm?' thought Marii when she heard her cell phone ring. She saw it was her mother who called her. "Excuse me" told the young woman as she pressed the 'answer' button.
"Hello Marii. We need your help at the Academy" told the older woman at the other end.

"OK. I'll be there in a couple minutes" replied the Jounin. "You need to be in the right clothes" told Hikari.
'They want me to be in ANBU uniform?' thought the female. "Understood" said the brunette while she glanced around her.

"Great! See you" finished the Chuunin and hung up the phone. "I'm afraid I have to go now" told the young woman with an apologizing smile.
She left the café with a new destination in mind. 'Must be something serious if they want me to be in ANBU uniform' thought Marii.
