James woke up in a pile of garbage. Well it wasn't exactly garbage. It was were they keep garbage but he lives there with all of the thrown out pillows in the far southeast side. You know the part of town that nobody likes. The paet if town genin are told to be very cautious in. That was were he lived.

"Ahh yawn" James stretched his arm before hetting up and strapping on his weighted clothing. He did a quick ten mile run before setting off to the esteemed senpai's dojo. When he arrived he was met with anger. "Where have you been?!" Asked the Senpai as he walked in. "Do you know how far away this place is from where I live?" He asked.

"Why do you think its this far away." Asked his senpai as nice as possible.

"Uhh."

"To keep rabble like you away!!!" She screamed making James jump back out of fright.


After some more comments the intructor told him how to use the proper stance. To accomodate his informal way of carrying the katana he had to pull it down to his side in one quick motion. He proceeded to bow like stance. "Your doing it wrong." The senpai coreected him and went on to telk the rest of the ckass to put their hands over the hilt not touching it. While James did as instructed he used his left hand instead of right throwing off the rest of the class. Slightly crouched as the rest of the class he put hiscright hand on the sheath of the sword. He practiced going from this position to crouching or standibg tgen back multiple times.

James continued with his training. He went from position to crouch then to position agan until his legs gave out. He then using adifferent set of muscle did the same exept this time from position to standing to position again. For four hours he did this his hands staying the same all the while. His left hand cramped into a metcarpal mess. The fingers twisting terribly as they ached.
His right hand bled as it chafed tge constantly moving sheathe. James repeated this routine long after class many times over

James sat in the dojo meditating on what he just learned. When the senpai returned she smacked him with a wooden sword. He jumped up amazed at the pain."your going ti have to do better thn that if you want my help!!!" Screamed the female master. He felt his head for any abrasions. Luckily for the young ninja it left no apparent mark. He got his swird before stopping. 'This was something he has to do without his weapon.'

The first day was the hardest. James dodged blow after blow of the senpai's sword. His face sweltering with wooden splinters sticking out. James jumped out of the way of a diagonal cut that still grazed his knee. When all was said and done for the day he remained for more. As he leaped over a vase the sword met him at the ground. If it wasn't wooden then he most certainly would have been dead.

On the second day he recieved his own wooden practice sword. James match blow for blow with his senpai. When he lunged out to block an attack his senpai twisted and hit his side. With that blow recieved he had to jump back to avoid being hit by a finishing combo. His legs were swollen but he continued getting in stance on more time readying to block another attack. To his suprise his master let him go. She warned him the fallowing day real blades would be used and he should not o if he fears death.

The fallowing day he went in not fearing death. That is not the shinobi way. The Senpai lunged out with her katana that went through the door frame. He only had a few seconds to dodge the near fatal attack. She ran thriugh the door with the sword slashing at his legs as he jumped over her. The blade grazed him makeing blood spurt out. His master followed with a thrust to his jugular thar he narrowly avoided. This wen on for a few more hours until he dropped to the ground. He fell asleep on the floor. His senpai satisfied left him in for the night.

The next morning he gripped kis katana as he woke to a full assault. The senpai put the sword through the sheets. He escaped with the body switch technique and a pile of wood. He pulled the katana out blocking an incoming attack with the side of the blade.Two mor attacks came in rapid succession to both his sides. James blocked them both but sraggered when the second blow hit his blade. He succesfully defended against a few more half hearted attacks before the senpai sent him home.

The following week after his initial training james went back to his senpai who was busy teaching a class. The very next day they began training again. His sword flew out of his hands as he dodged her blade. She slashed at him as he did a backflip to get to his katana. This indirectly knocked it out of her hand.

The senpai continued to attack James useing basic taijutsu techniques. She punched his gut only to be blocked with his wood as he dodged. He jumped over her roundhouse fallibg into an upercut that he redirected with his sheathe. When he got back to his sword both of them were sweaty from the training. This did not matter as he was immediately attacked by a few students lurking in the shadows.

He dodged attack after attack placeing his sheathed blade on a students head befor spinning in a circle kicking the most tenacious of the students. With lightning speed he jumped around dodjing tge more expierienced kenjutsuists strikes. After this wenyt on for twenty minutes he dodged his way back to the senpai. The senpai cobgratulated him on passibg her test. He was now allowed to learn real kenjutsu techniques from her. ((Just in case he doesn't get all 3 he is going to storm out.))

"Really this was juat a test? You mean if I didn't pass I would have dobe this for noyhing?!" He stormed out into the woods.
