Riza frowned down at her map and compass. River country was to the southwest, past Fire country. There was absolutely no way to avoid crossing into Fire's territory, but their ninja village was rumored to be friendly with Stone's. Being as Stone was her birthplace and former residence, that was...less than good. Nothing for it though. She'd simply have to move quickly, and be out of the country before anyone knew she was there. Simple matter with flight. The only question was whether she would ride upon ink or clay, as both required chakra to maintain, and both had a limited supply even with her moderate stockpile.
To save chakra until then, there was her new Air Trek rollerskates, the Flame Regalia. Emblazoned with the image of the legendary Nine-Tailed Fox, these devices used heel pressure to engage a motor that would propel the skates - and the wearer - without the user expending much physical energy.
Pressing down on the mechanism, the genius tinkerer took off in a southwesterly direction from the village, guided by her compass. Slowly at first, while stowing away her map in the pouch at her breast, then faster as she increased pressure. Her riding posture was as smooth as a master's even though she'd only just received the devices. A genius like herself could analyze the workings of something this simple with ease.
Still, even the great Riza Morris had to admit to only very mild trepidation when the rice paddies gave way to flatland, and the massive trees of the Land of Fire loomed. The entire country wasn't smothered in forestry as like the it was stereotyped to be, but what forests there were stood amazingly high and covered a large distances at a time. Perfect for ambushes. Not one to take undue risks, the girl lowered the pair of goggles sitting atop her hear over her eyes, and pressed the switch on the side to activate it's Thermal setting. Now she could identify heat signatures even behind foliage. While there was quite a lot, nothing humanoid so far. Good. Time to move into Fire Country proper.
