Character Description:
Eyes[/u]
-- Piercing pools of a greenish blue meet any who would cast their gaze upon this protagonist. Dart's sense of loyalty and bravery are unyielding in any sense, a fire born of revenge flickering within his iris at the slightest glance. They seem to soften only when his friends are in need of an ear, or when Shana has his undivided attention and desires to bond with him on an emotional level. An effulgent glow can be seen when he invokes the power of the Red-Eye Dragoon Spirit. But one should exercise caution when this occurs; when the flames of his vigor are unleashed, the battle is as good as won.
Hair[/u]
-- The Red-Eyed Dragoon's mane is composed of thick, blonde locks that lay kempt around the crown of his head. Spilling out through a trademark red bandanna that fits snug against his forehead, these silken tresses sway easily when stray gales caress him. Barely veiling his countenance, twin bangs manage to keep the rest of his hair at bay toward the nape of his neck. Such qualities seem unaffected when he begins his transformation into the Red-Eyed Dragoon; consistent with any appearance, his hairstyle makes him easily identifiable within a crowd.
Build[/u]
-- Standing at approximately 5'9, Dart possesses an athletic build of somewhat lithe proportion. Sunbathed epidermis, supple to the eyes and smooth to the touch, give testament to the warrior's youth. Calloused hands grip the blade with many years of experience, accentuated by a countenance of determined appearance. An impressive musculature can be seen when not donning armor, lines of definition present along his abdomen to boast a hardened musculature. Simply put, Dart appears to be at the pique of physical condition.
Dress Code[/u]
-- Having been exposed to the tides of battle more than once, Dart is usually equipped with a custom built set of scarlet armor. An entire sleeve of metallic proportion covers his left arm, nimble digits peeking out from a cuff of plate so that he might protect his extremities. Alternatively, the right arm is free of unnecessary weights; this is his dominant appendage, his broadsword usually found within its leather-gloved grip before battle ensues. A partial collar of metal veils the left side of his neck, designed solely to enhance defensive maneuver.
Crimson knee pads protect the lower extremities of the warrior, snug against a pair of obsidian pants that fit perfectly to elongated legs. Fitting to his waist by a dual set of leather belts that match his boots, every accessory from shirt to chain is designed for ease of movement and maximized potential.
Character Personality[/u]
-- Without a doubt, Dart Feld is a man of loyalty and true companionship. While the sword in his hand or the piercing gaze of his eyes seem imposing, he is usually more than willing to help those who might be in need. Carrying a sense of justice that most would find admirable, the Red-Eyed Dragoon warrior never allows the tendrils of fear to stall his forward advance to victory. However, this is not to say that he is without flaw.
Dart lacks a true grip on the emotional side of his character, often overlooking Shana's advance as a sibling affection rather than the romantic nature that such actions stem from. This leads him to misunderstand her to an extent; while he still sees her as a sister, his overprotective nature is battled with before he comes to accept and reciprocate her feelings of genuine love.
Aside from his loyalty, Dart also holds a sense of revenge close to his heart. His memories broken and fractured by the memory of the Black Monster that had destroyed his home many years ago, Dart is stubborn in his ways when the thought of vengeance seeps through his cerebral. He remains cognizant to the bigger picture, but fits of anger and hatred permeate and can force him to retrace his steps for a better answer to a given situation. Still, he is reliable and more than trustworthy.
When not pursuing enemies, Dart's greatest enjoyment lies within the ability to practice the art of the sword against worthy opponents. His passion for fighting is well-known to his friends, their countless encounters with monster and humanoid alike birthing a vicious persona that is unrelenting in aggression. While some would call him pragmatic in his swordplay, it is his unique execution that sets him apart from the rest; even the greatest defense can be pierced by his trademark "Volcano" Addition.
Character History[/u]
-- Born as a resident of Neet to Claire and Zieg Feld, Dart grew up with a childhood of normalcy until the age of five. Exposed to the devastation of a calamity that was only known as "The Black Monster", the child barely escaped with his parents into the forestry that surrounded their burning village. But before they could truly make their retreat, Dart's parents made it their resolve to return to the village to search for survivors. Long into the night Dart waited, hoping that they would return and make haste to separate themselves from a nightmare personified. Sadly, this would not come to pass. Dart returned to the village of his own accord, only to find his father's memento among the charred remains of all that he had known.
Later, Dart moved to the town of Seles and began life anew. Calling it his new "home", it was where he met Shana and thereafter decided to begin his journey to find and destroy The Black Monster who was responsible for the deaths of Claire and Zieg. It was during this five-year quest that he met the martial arts specialist Haschel, an older man who had been looking for his daughter. The sense of friendship between them was inevitable, and thus Dart would learn much on his quest to sink his blade into the entity that had taken all that he'd loved years ago. But this obsession of sorts was not without consequence - upon his return home after the fifth year, Dart was shocked to find that Seles had been attacked. The Sandora Army had not only burned it to the ground, but they had captured Shana, his longtime friend.
The set of events that occur thereafter lead him to meet Lavitz, a knight in the service of King Albert. Befriending him and many others along the way, Dart is brought to the realization that The Black Monster has destroyed many and tainted the world with its malevolent influence. He also discovers that he is the Red-Eyed Dragoon, awakened by the powerful word of a mysterious woman named Rose. Using this new found essence that has long been dormant within him, Dart rises to power and utterly crushes his opponents beneath the wings of the valiant beast. But all is not as it would seem with this power having come to fruition; Dart later meets Lloyd, a mysterious swordsman who matches him in power and thereafter is revealed to be the wielder of the dreaded Dragon Buster - bane to any who hold the spirit of a Dragoon within, it immediately spells defeat to those it comes into contact with. A prime example of such power exerted is the death of Lavitz, who finds that he is the possessor of the Jade Dragoon.
A perilous set of events that occur thereafter lead Dart and his friends to learn of the Winglies, an ancient race of magical beings who once ruled over the Ancient World. Having lost to the humans in what is called "The Dragon Campaign" of years ago, Lloyd comes to be known as one of these olden beings. Melbu Frahma, their leader, is brought to life through the turns of events that befall Dart and those who team up with him in the coming days during the course of his journey. Through much pain and loss, the warrior comes into the possession of the e'er powerful Divine Dragoon Spirit that engulfs and grants him a great surge in his magical prowess. He eventually smites Melbu Frahma and destroys him, releasing the chains that bind him from fulfillment and justice.
With his love for Shana realized along the way and his knowledge of the Black Monster put to rest by Rose, who reveals that she is the Black Monster, he returns to Seles and starts a new life of completion and contentment. His warrior's sense remains fresh, and he is hopeful for a future that will give him a brighter view of the world.
Role Play Example[/u]
The skies were painted a beautiful amber as the last traces of the sun vanished beneath the mountains that sat quietly in the distance. Small clouds of diminishing gray dotted the once cerulean skies with a certain calm, nature's breath passing through the quaint town of Seles on an uneventful evening. Dart sat upon the edge of the rooftop to his newly built home, the chimney only meters away allowing a savory aroma to waft that originated from inside the abode's walls; Shana had picked up more lessons from Lavitz's mother, enticing the warrior all the more after the daunting task of swordplay in the fields had left him weary. Slated orbs regarded the villagers who passed below with mild indifference - he'd allow the corner of his lips to lift, an almost imperceptible grin meeting their warm "Hello".
....But he missed Lavitz, still.
The shards of his tattered dreams managed to poke and prod him mentally, his eyelids flickering but for a moment to restore the picture of Lavitz's final moments to his memory. "...Lavitz.." he murmured audibly, the name carrying across his own ears like a silent wish that his friend would return from a long trip. But he knew the truth. Allowing his lips to part so that his tongue might wet his twins, Dart hadn't even been aware that Shana had climbed a nearby ladder to join him. "Are you okay?" she asked, a hand pressed to his back in support. Dart lifted his right hand from the roof's tile to rest his palm along her upper thigh, nodding as his eyes caught the beauty of her visage out of his peripheral. "Yeah. Just thinking about things. Lavitz. The Winglies. Haschel. Everyone."
Shana's reassuring smile had always been a necessity. And yet, Dart had never truly looked at her until that night on the balcony in Fletz. "I miss Lavitz, too. I wonder what everyone is doing now?" Shana asked, attempting to quell the demons by way of broadening the range of his thoughts. Dart merely shrugged, his free hand lifting so that he could push a stray bang of his blonde tresses from his face. "Knowing Meru, she's probably talking someone's ear off by now," he murmured. Shana's giggle was akin to a beauteous melody. If for only that moment, Dart was content to be spending time with a woman whose undying love had brought him back from the darkness of revenge so many times before.
"C'mon, Shana. Let's eat.." he muttered. The time to dwell on the past was positive reflection. But if he wanted to live as Lavitz would have wanted, then it was up to him to cherish the present. Descending the ladder to follow Shana, he'd silently nod and double his resolve to make his late friend proud.
"Thank you, Lavitz.
