WILD LIGHTNING

Lightning flashed harshly overhead in the clustered gaggle of cumulonimbus clouds that seemed incessant in the land of Lightning. Following their electrical wake was the tremendous booms of thunder that shook trees down to their roots; in the midst of this typical storm, one figure could be made out as his white hair was very noticeable in the darkened environ. His movements were cool and collected; in his reserved gait, the boy would occasionally glance toward the heavens as bolts of light rippled through the sky. Okitsugu stopped momentarily in the middle of the village square, mesmerized by nature's erratic display of lights.
His white and green laced Shihakusho hung freely on his slender build as he trudged on toward other villagers. At his lower back rested his ninja-tool pouch that had been filled with knives, bo-shuriken and several grenade variants; at his left hip the tanto Kurokugi jostled in its wayward abode. The male's eyes matched the albicant strands of hair on his head signifying his tranquil disposition, despite the given climatic circumstances at hand. They meticulously scanned left and right as he made his way into a common shop that Genin-ranked militia persons frequented. His lips pursed together as all heads turned toward him, the newcomer, as he took a seat near a back window.
With another horrific flash and boom combo, several ninja inside of the place jumped; contrarily, Okitsugu kept his poise as his pearly irises locked on to the strikes of lightning. Even though he was seated amongst his age group, his mind traveled elsewhere. Perhaps to the blackish gray clouds that gave birth to the jagged spikes that startled his peers.
"Ah..." He had never seen such a sight within the confines of the facility located in Minarai.
...
Several minutes passed by as Okitsugu peered through the dusty glass of the Genin pub. Bodies came and went at a slower success rate than the strikes of lightning; by now he had somehow managed to count the sighting of eighty-seven strikes of lightning and the sounding of fifty-two booms of thunder. Voices of all assortments could be heard in the background as footsteps made their way over to his isolated position.
"Welcome, young man," the waitress said with a warm smile. She was fair skinned and had on standard work apparel. Her hair was tied in a ponytail (as these are things Okitsugu took into consideration as his eyes worked over her body); she bowed slightly before him once she realized that he made no mention of her presence. "..How may I serve you today?" She blinked several times as his white eyes honed in to her being.
"Water," he said, turning his head away from the waitress and back to the window as a lightning bolt rippled over the village square. With an annoyed look she took off behind the counter into the kitchen area to fetch his glass of water; within seconds she returned and placed the beverage on his table before bowing and turning on her heel. Cubes of ice clanked together as he lifted the mug and downed the clear liquid. Okitsugu would then shift his attention from the lightning to the Genin housed within the shop. Hopefully one would spot him sitting alone, otherwise he would have to somehow initiate conversation with one of them. He hadn't been conditioned to do such a thing, but perhaps he would be able to manage the task if he found any particular ninja catch his glance.
