HE CAME IN ON A CLOUD...

[/blockquote]Mountainous land dominated Kaminari-no-Kuni much more than it had in the tundra-laden Frost country. Here, by way of foot travel, Okitsugu made his way safely into the massive gates of the Hidden Cloud. Rain fell at a steady pace as the boy promptly made his way to the Academy where he would within several weeks time pass into a full-fledged member of Kumogakure's military force. The requisite ninjutsu needed to pass the Academy had already been learned miles away at a training facility in Minarai; all he had to do was show his worth and the scheduled graduation would bring him a step closer to his goal.
Oki entered a classroom with about ten other ninja-in-training and took a seat in the middle of the class. Loud chatter quickly turned into shared whispers as those who had grown up into teenagers together kept away from the snowy haired Genkai. He would shrug carelessly, almost as if he missed the joke or something. His eyes remained focused and his body forward as the Chuunin instructor taught those around him what he had only come here to demonstrate. The session rolled over smoothly in his first day.
No vocalization came from the latest student at the Lightning Academy as he performed the first required ninja art of Kinobori no Waza: he displayed phenomenal charka control as his spiritual energies came to a focal point in his feet soles. Others present were shocked by the quiet youth's seemingly innate ability to produce his chakra so quickly with such focus; the Chuunin examiner, too, was shocked - he hadn't known of Okitsugu's background in Minarai. With a burst of speed, he took off toward the fifteen meter tall building and scaled the vertical wall coolly. Even though his classmates all clapped and cheered below, Oki kept his subtle disposition as he returned to his teacher and peers, awaiting orders.
What came next was no surprise to Okitsugu. Just like hours before, he controlled his chakra to a fine location, running it in a thin layer at the bottom of his foot apparel. He slid across the water's surface as if he was ice-skating; as an added effect, the usage of a Shunshin caused a plume of smoke to arise in his wake as he returned to shore. The boy passed the Suimen Hokou no Waza examination and slipped out of the training area as others filed in after him to practice their water walking. This had been the final day of the first week, the "test your might" phase of the Academy.
As the weeks progressed, Oki made several acquaintances amongst his classmates; unfortunately, he had to keep a vigil eye out for those who had been envious of him. He tried to steer clear of them for their own well-being because things might have escalated far too quickly had he been left to his hostile devices. Transformation, Body Switch and tag activation had been the surprises of the week, all of which the Shimo native knew he'd pass with little effort.
His prowess at Henge was noted as other Chuunin instructors gathered around to note just how efficiently the newcomer had managed to control his chakra. He was Genin ranked (metaphorically speaking) compared to his school counterparts. Okitsugu held his transformation for the required time length as he stood placid just staring at his own teacher in his own eerie likeness. Immediately following this display of chakra control, he was prompted to use his chakra to cause the seal on an explosive tag to activate. He held the ram seal sternly as the Jibaku Fuda: Kassei technique took effect: tags exploded in successive bursts at his willing before the amount of tags was diminished to zilch.
For his display of advancement, Okitsugu had the opportunity to spar against two adversaries at once. The two that had volunteered to put his skill of body switch to the test where none other than a couple of the ones who loathed his fluid tactics. The boy's eyes leered as he opponents circled him. A flash of green flickered in his squinted eyes before his hands flew into kata just as one of his foes leapt toward him. To his (the opponent's) dismay, he would find himself wailing on his comrade, as Oki showed excellent timing of his Kawarimi Jutsu; the boys were angered only further, but the Chuunin prompter quickly broke up the skirmish before it could go any further. At the end of the third and final week, Oki was called forward for early graduation* for his above-proficient display of fundamental shinobi ninja arts.
His reward was nothing other than the Kumo-issused headband. He tied the hitate-ite to Kurokugi's scabbard were it remains at his left side.
