Personality:
From a young age, Lei Fong has always been pressured by his family, immediate and extended, that honor and status are very important. The singled-mindedness of it has made him into a quiet, obedient soldier for the Land of Water of the Kirigakure ninja army. This makes Lei Fong somewhat shy, socially awkward and too serious at times. As if almost automatic, Lei Fong lives, eats, breathes ninjutsu and paramilitary. This is not because it is his favorite topic or that he is a fanatic. But the amount of importance that it plays in his life is to great to ever lose sight of. As if it is engrained to his very being. This makes Lei Fong very difficult to talk to at times, as his training and logic are always the first thing that come in play to just about any situation.
This is not to say that Lei Fong isn't without a different side to him. He truly has pride in his small accomplishments and his clan. Lei Fong values honesty, loyalty, and people with a sense of standards. Because his honor is very important to him, Lei Fong obviously take a lot of pride in his taijutsu skills and enjoys being tested whether to further his prestige or find his failing and improve them before they shame him when it really counts. Behind his professional disguise, he is just a young man that is trying his hardest to impress and help his family. This gives the sense that he is an actually caring person that like putting others before himself. Perhaps the more interaction he has with people, the better he will be at expressing it.
Behind closed doors, Lei Fong has a playful side to him. This face only comes out when he is with his “parents”. That is to say, his real parents, his uncle, and all of his senseis. They are the closest things he has to friends and after spending all his life with them, Lei Fong has grown fond of them, as any child would. Between all the training and drilling, they have their fun times. Though it is “part of the training”, Lei Fong picked up carving/whittling from from Chojun Sensei. On his own time, he likes reading novels from his parents' collection. Before going into combat or something dangerous, Lei Fong has picked up a habit from his uncle, Wu Shen Fa, of picking dirt, mud, sand or something of the sort and dusting his hands with it. Tsunahara Sensei's habit of drawing a jian (double-edged straight blade) from her back is a practice that Lei Fong has adopted, despite her recanting that he can just draw from the hip “like any normal, sensible person”. Finally, both he and Minamoto Sensei share a interest in painting, in many mediums, as it “practices versatility, flexibility, and expression”.
