- Observation
Rank: "E" (5 TP at all times)
Skill: Skill
Effect: This skill focuses certain powers of observation - sight, smell, hearing, and touch.
Special: ---
Drawback: ---
Description: A failed check indicates that the character is oblivious until the thing is pointed out to him. This skill is important for ferreting out advancing enemies or ambushes, generally real-time events and actions occurring, versus scrutiny, which covers static objects or areas. A Game Master may roll an Observation skill check for a Character any time there is an NPC, monster, event or happening that a character might notice, even if he did not specifically state that he is monitoring his surroundings. Characters are capable of noticing any event within their perception. Observation reveals only facts, not motivation. Each time learned user gets 1 die roll to increase the skill.

"Hnnnnyaaaaagh~"
Azuki's mouth hung open, a morning yawn signalling her return from dreams. Today was a lazy day, she decided. After having graduated from the Academy, all of her studying had finally caught up with her, and a good night's rest was well deserved. Blinking and rubbing the sand from her eyes, she turned her head to the nearby window whose morning light had roused her. A single bird flew departed from a tree at just that moment. She had missed what kind it was.
Hopping out of bed, she went through her morning rituals of getting dressed and styling her hair in that every crazy way she kept it. When she was finally finished sorting out her breakfast and partaking of that delight, the new Genin set out of her small shack in the rural area of Kirigakure.
The Harbor District was always quiet at this hour. It was nice and peaceful out here, whereas the Martial District would already be bustling with business by now. The mists were light and the morning dew smelled sweet. Today was a good day for a walk.
