Aimi stopped his treatment with a sigh, looking down at the soon to die rabbit. He felt nothing, nothing beyond contempt at having failed in his duty to save the life he had unknowingly robbed. He didn't feel regret for the action or remorse for the apparent death of an entire family. Only the selfish feeling of having not succeeded in something that he set out to do. He stood up and turned his back, having done all that he could do. Some would be satisfied with that, he wasn't. Even if it was just a rabbit, he had hoped to do more for it. Knowing that he had failed only made him angry to some degree.
Walking over to where he had stuck his katana into the ground, the genin pulled it out from the earth and turned around, only to be met with the angry slap and scolding of a woman dressed as a bunny. Each slap was a significant reminder of his failure, and each slap made him want to cut through them if only to make them stop. He stood and did nothing though, looked on to each of the women with cold eyes and took the hit, his grip tightening on his katana until his knuckles were white and his fingernails dug into the handle. When they were finished, he raised his blade and gave it a swift flick of the wrist, splattering the rabbit's blood onto the ground in defiance before sheathing his blade and turning back to Nightpain. Alva was right, they were wasting time there.
From the sound of things, their trip was far from over. They'd covered two destinations and had three more to go before getting their first objective... which was what exactly? Aimi was under the impression that they were looking for the Holy Grail. What exactly would they need to achieve that end? He didn't yet know, but in any case at least they colored knights were acting a bit more serious now. That was a plus if nothing else. With a red and stinging cheek, Aimi rode on with his company, fuming silently and taking the hour long ride as time to calm down.
As the shrine came in sight from around the bend for Aimi, his eyes first trailed over the shrine itself before finding its guardian... who looked quite familiar. Was that... the bridge guardian!? What the hell was he doing here!? As they rode up and stopped before him, he even asked the same question and sounded the exact same! For a dreadful moment, Aimi was afraid that he would have to suffer another trio of dull questions if they were to move on. Fortunately for them, it seemed they would be spared that fate this time around. Whatever it was that had been in the shrine had been stolen, along with anything else of value it seemed. "What was the artifact that was stolen?" Aimi asked the shrine guardian, waiting for his answer before turning towards his companions and asking, "Is it necessary for us to move on? If not, let's be on our way."
