Cultural Experience. [Draven/Open]

Katsu had been escorting some visitors around the village, leading them to the cultural epicenters of the village and just showing them the rich society that the Shinobi of Kumogakure had created for themselves. Katsu was more than happy to do so; he always got along well with most people. The fact the visitors were from Otogakure didn't bother Katsu in the least, it only made him more excited to be able to speak with them. The girl Rahael had left at some point, citing a need to find a Gouken Sensei for herself, but the extremely tall Draven had stayed with him the whole way so far.

The first stop had been one of Cloud's more cultured restaurants, where they dined on exotic eastern food. Katsu wasn't really one for super-cultured food because it took so much work just to make a single meal, and some of the things were cruel seeming to Katsu, like Live Monkey Brains, or just not worth the risk, like puffer fish. Either way they had managed to agree upon a good meal and enjoyed what they ate, or at least Katsu did.

After that had been a quick visit to the Kumogakure museum, which was somewhat short-lived because Katsu wasn't much for history, and learning of another village's history was probably dull for his visitors as well. Either way they eventually headed off to try something else. They were in the process of doing just that at the moment, walking down the street enjoying the warm summer day while Katsu tried to think of somewhere else to go visit. "So Draven, you've got a lot of skill with Genjutsu right? Feel like trying to give me some advice? I've always had trouble with it, and I've never even learned a single Perception yet."

Draven would have enjoyed his small tour through the village. The food was excellent and had complimented on how exquisite monkey brains had tasted. He actually did enjoy the history museum, it felt he was catcing up on some current affairs, filling in some gaps of his understanding of history from the last 20 years that he had missed of it.

Thus a stroll down a street and a request. Draven would check his equipment as the brevity of the answer could be enlightening... He would have gauntlets and greaves on both arms and legs respectively. He had his heavy shield strapped to his back, with a cloak over that. In the cloak was four chaff grenades and three soldier pills. On his belt was a buttbag with a lock picking kit filled with five different kinds of picks, a disruptor, a compass, 2 maps one regional and known world, and three type E gas mask filters. A 2 filter design gas mask was hanging around his neck for which the filters where for. His belt was actually his headband with the Otogakure symbol plate used as a buckle. Over the cloak he wore a trench coat styled robe with six soldier pills inside its inner pockets. The color of his appearal was black, something he was partial to due to their enourmus capability to hide in shadows. Even his tight long sleeve shirt and loose jean pants where of the dark color. There was a coton hood that was pulled back that was apart of the trench coat that he would use to shield his identity when needed. Thus, finally if someone where observant enough they would notice on his top left hand the beginings of a tattoo. This tattoo would have reached from shoulder to hand and it would be a motif of a flock of crows, 30 in total each with a wingspan of 1 inch. There was another tattoo, though it would be hidden under his shirt, and that would be of a larger crow with its wings spread to 1 foot across, centered on his chest area.

So a Genjutsu lesson is what you wish. Well the first step before learning such techniques would be the defense of such techniques. Draven would say as he raised his left hand in front of him with the top side facing away. "Once you understand that the mechanics of a Genjutsu is simply chakra that attaches to the brain, you can get a feel for how they work." He would say as he pulled the sleeve back on his left hand down to the elbow. "So, lets start with the basics. What you are seeing on my arm is a complex Genjutsu" the flock of crows tattoo would start to move on the arm as if animated. "In general what you see from a Genjutsu cannot be negated, but the effects of a Genjutsu can. Your first line of defense would be your mental fortitude. Well a better way to explain would be that its will power. Its to force yourself not to believe such effects." The flock of crows would start to fly faster and faster as Draven continued his initial lesson. "Unfortunately you cannot defend yourself from simply seeing this Genjutsu on my arm. Even if you know its a Genjutsu, because of the nature of this techniques particular complexity. But If you wouldn't mind I can test your mental strength and perhaps you could practice on strengthening it..." He would finally request. It wasn't something he was threatening or anything like that. It would be said as if a teacher teaching a student.

Katsu was a little surprised by the sudden movement on Draven's body. He certainly wasn't expecting crows to just fly off of him and begin circling. Blinking rapidly, Katsu would tilt his head, looking at the birds with interest. Draven hadn't even performed any handseals to create this genjutsu. Katsu would nod slowly as he listened to Draven's explanation, noting what he felt was a key part of that explanation. There were some Genjutsu that you couldn't break even if you could prevent them from affecting yourself. That was a very interesting point for Katsu, as he was a group minded individual that considered himself a support soldier in combat.

"Maybe we should head to one of the public training areas. There's plenty around the village that we can go to. I don't want to maybe think I'm being eaten alive by wasps and start breaking things where there are civilians around."

Katsu would lead Draven to one of the public training areas, which was more or less a field with lots of trees near its border to provide plenty of cover between the training area and the streets beyond. Once they were in the middle of the field Katsu would turn to Draven, "So what are we going to do first, Draven?"

[This is just a training. No rolls needed, and I believe Katsugan wont be able to pass the disbelief rolls anyway.]


Draven would follow Katsugan. He would agree that a more formal area where they would not bother anyone would most definitely be called for. Thus he would follow to the area. And the lesson would commence once his Cloud friend was ready. "Again with this kind of Genjutsu, you are only granted an initial resistance to disbelief. This is a potent one so you will have to practice well to counter it."

The crows would fly out of Draven's shirt. The would flock around him as he started to raise his left arm. He would point a finger at Katsugan and say "Be on your mark, this mite feel odd" The crows would shoot out and start circling Katsugan. They where not meant to harm the Cloud Ninja, no the feathers would only brush against the young Ninja's skin. At most if Katsugan could not disbelief a 31 in mental toughness, then perhaps the Cloud Ninja would feel the tickle wrath of the 30 crows. This of course would be a perfect opertunity to learn and improve Katsugans Impeccable Will.

Katsu would follow the directions of Draven and give forth his best effort, attempting to will himself to be able to resist Draven's illusions. To no avail, however. Sometimes a person simply cannot learn to do something a certain way, and must attempt it in a different fashion. Perhaps it was so with Katsu. Nevertheless, once they had realized that Katsu would be unable to effectively learn anything from this particular method Katsu would suggest continuing the tour of the village, offering to take Draven to the graveyard, or perhaps one of the parks that dotted the village. They were much more peaceful than most, and Katsu found the well kept plants beautiful and calming. After his failure with the Genjutsu he felt he could use some calming.

The crows would disapear. Draven wouldn't look down on others who are not versed in Genjutsu. For all he knew this one could be faster than him, or other attributes that would have Katsugan looking down on Draven. In either case, everyone is mostly on the level. "Very well, perhaps another time. You could always train that sort of thing with a versed ANBU agent."

Thus a crossroads would be passed. The option to do some more sight seeing, but he would decline. "No I would like to strike out on my own and explore. Though I am thinking I would like to create a gift for your Kage. Something to foster good will for the alliance."

Thus Draven would exit in search of a smithy...
