While he was grinding the lenses, he made sure to make them off different sizes and focuses as described in the instructions. That was because he had to have one of the larger ones in the front in the objective while having the smaller ones in the middle, all with different tasks. To make sure that he didn't mix them up, he placed them in the proper orders next to himself as he finished off the grindings. When the final level was finished, he made one were he just used some water to remove the final dust that made it imperfect. Emi was really satisfied as he looked over all of them, he had managed with the odds against him. So the young boy smiled and began to make the shell of the objectives. Due to the massive range that the cameras would need to cover, he wanted the top cameras to zoom as much as possible, which he then thought it would be the best part to start off with.

At first he didn't really know how long he wanted it to be, as the blueprint just showed how the basic version worked for a 2x zoom. So he went back to the drawing he had of the area he was going to protect and estimated the height the highest cameras would be at, then he decided that he wanted them to be 6x zoom. To get such a good zoom while still being able to focus or zoom out a little, he decided that he would make it in several parts so it could move. With two objectives in each part he would be able to get a fairly large variety of zoom. So Emi used the blueprint to make his own version on a very detailed sketch and with a couple of important notes as he came up with them. The hard part would to get the moving mechanism to function flawlessly for a long period of time.

He made a large amount of spiraling paths going through the different parts of the objective and mirrored paths on the other sides of the inner ones. After a few attempts he felt how easily it opened and closed, which made him suspect that it would easily break, so he made the outer paths slightly thicker. That made the friction a little higher and the parts were steadier than they had been before. Emi then added in the mechanism to make it move, which he then tried a few times by adding in some current. He quickly noticed that it only went in one direction, outwards. So he had to make some tweaking to have it capable of taking a variable to see in which direction it were supposed to go.

But Emi wasn't really concerned with it as it was exactly what he had assumed would be needed. He was just glad that he had been smart enough to make it possible for himself to send more advanced commands through the wire. So after he had tried the function out again and seen that it did indeed move as commanded, he moved on and made sure that the monitor would be able to send the correct commands. Emi then programmed it to have two floating buttons on top of everything else, which would send zoom in or zoom out commands through the wire and make the objective go in the needed direction. At the first try he noticed that the objective constantly moved a little back and forth, as if it took all of the non-direct signals as one or the other state. So Emi added the third state to be that if none of them were pressed, it would stay still.

Emi then opened upp all of the pieces and put them steadily on the bench as he studied were he wanted the lenses. When he had made a few markings with a pen on good places, he realized that it was so important that he would need to some studied calculations and check some information on it. Both his normal book and the blueprint had a bunch of details surrounding it, so it only took him about a quarter of an hour before he had solved the problem. A few of the markings had actually been on point, but most of them hadn't. So he just removed them and began to add on the holders of the lenses. It was essential that the lenses were put completely still, so he had to make a very tight grip around them with a fairly easy click function to remove them.

When he had confirmed that all the lenses were properly attached to the shell, he moved the objective between max and minimum zoom a few times to make sure nothing was damaged while doing so. Since he could feel that there a slight resistance in doing so, he checked that nothing was in between the parts, before he realized that it was only some additional friction from tge merges. So he separated them from each other and put some oil in the combination-paths before putting the objective back together. As he looked on the almost finished, he couldnt help but to feel pride, the piece looked so genuine, it was as if it had been made to fit a proffessional journalist. "At least its appearance is on point"

The boy then wondered if he wanted to have the objective to be one with the cameras overall body, or if it would just be removeable. Both sides had positive and negative aspects to them, but after some considerations, he wanted to try a combination. So he made it so that the camera had a strong mechanism that kept the objective along its body, making it quite hard to get the objective to budge. The negative part was that it was also hard to remove, but since he expected it to be removed as seldom as possible, it wouldn't mean that much. After some smaller adjustments to the synergy between the two devices, Emi decided that it was finally the time to see how the image turned out.

Most of the contents on the screen were a mess regardless of how much he zoomed. That made the boy wonder what had happened, sure, the previous images gained hadn't been perfect, but they were still workable, but the ones from the objective was unusable. So he removed it again to see what had been the mistake. Since the image had been really blurry, he expected it to have something either with the lenses, or the distance between them. When it didn't appear to be any damage or weird layers on top of the lenses, he went back to the calculations. His confusion was complete when he had redone the math three times without getting any numbers differently.

But when he finally removed the lenses to see if it was something behind that he couldn't see, he noticed that the lenses that he had been using was the ones with the thick glass. Emi had accidentally put them all in the same pile, and for some reason decided to start with the ones in the bottom. The sigh was massive as the boy removed the faulty lenses and put them far away on another table. When all of the lenses finally were replaced, he put the objective back together and gave it another go. The image gained was a lot clearer and he had no difficulties to see details with it. So he tried out the zoom function and tried to determine if it actually was plausible to make it zoom that far. What he noticed was that even though the screen was still clear and focused, he had some difficulties to follow the zooming in as it was too quickly, his mind didn't follow where it reached.

The fix was however very simple to that as he only needed go make sure that the zooming in with the objective was slowed down to the point a person could follow its zoom. It didnt take him long to fix it. He did however realize that it would take a little longer to focus on something, but that got to be a side-effect as he just couldnt allow himself to disorient any view. When he felt good about the quality of the umage and the zoom, Emi started to work on the way to make the camera move. The principal was easy, but he had to make sure it was a smooth connection between pressin a turn button and it actually moving fasr enough in that direction.

When the motions of the camera and the screen was smooth, he moved on to the next part that he needed to do, to connect the parts to a storing device. He had done similar things as parts to other devices, but never one that had the sole purpose to only keep as much information stored as possible. So he was glad that he had a good blueprint for that one as well. After picking up all of the necessary components for the necessary motherboard, he hesitated a little before he picked up another set. He didn't intend to do anything half good, and what could go wrong, he thought and began to add the components together according to the blueprint. What he found quite weird however was that for some reason he had to apply small fans into the motherboards.

The reason it was so awkward to him was since there didn't appear to be any in or outlet of air, making such a thing fairly useless. But then he realized that even though it didn't have holes, the hull appeared to be able to breathe. That made Emi wonder if it would be possible to put into the camera as well, since it also would have some problems with heat. The camera did obviously leak anyways. So Emi briefly went back to the camera and exchanged the bottom of it with water-repelling yet breathing material with several filters. Then he added in two of the smaller fans and placed them in between all of the motherboards. It was fairly small areas that he could have them on as there were so many cables going between the three cores. But after some struggle, he managed to get them quite satisfactory.

After he had tried them out and made sure that they always would be activated when the camera was on, allowing them to rest while the rest of the camera was. Emi then jumped back to the storing device and picked up a handful amount of the smallest screws. As there were so many parts, he screwed them all on before he began to draw the lines in between them on the card. He did however immediately regret his decision as he noticed how much harder it was to start off the lines in between the components when they already were in place. At first he just tried to force it by brushing away the topmost of the bendable components, but as it got harder and harder to do and the possible risk of actually damage several ones of them, he instead chose to remove them. The screws had left some damage behind, but else it just took him some extra time to do.

To make sure that the damages weren't all too noticeable, Emi brought out a couple of different colors and looked for one that was the same as the card. He then colored up those areas that were damaged and that he could reach with a normal small brush. After some gently blowing to have it dry off quicker, he smoothed out the layer by grinding down the color with a very fine grinding paper. It was harder than he wanted to admit, but when it was done he just applied a protective layer and put all of the components back on it. Since the screws had opened up all of the holes slightly, he found it a lot easier the second time, making the overall appearance quite satisfactory.

When he allowed a small current rush through the circuits to see if was responding as intended, he noticed that the small fans that were located in each card was still not spinning. Since he hadn't added logic to the memory-bank, he knew that it were suppose to become active immediately. So he removed the fans and looked around for the problem. There didn't appear as there anything technological wrong to them, but when he reapplied them to the motherboards, he remembered that he actually had forgotten to insert the grounding null cable into them, making them unable to conduit the current that wanted to make them work. So he connected them properly and tried to add in some current again, and almost immediately after the rush of electricity went through the device, the fans began to spin.

One of them looked like it was spinning a little weirdly at first, so Emi wondered if it would turn out to be a problem in the long run. But it was answered as he was starting to put down some note one how the logic for the device would work, as a scratching noise began to get heard. so he made sure that it actually was coming from it before he screwed it up again to see what he could do with it. After some analyzing he deducted that the scratching sound was made due to the arm holding the fan-blade was angled. Most likely due to some transportation damage or creation flaw. None the less Emi had to remove all the pieces attached to the arm before he straightened it and added another layer of hardened metal to avoid having it get angled once more. It was harder for him to apply all the details back on, but since it still worked as intended, he didn't mind.

The coding would be a problem on the new device, as he didn't know how to even apply it. So he had to look on the blueprint to see what was the common way of adding it all. Disappointingly there were no information to be gained, it just didn't cover that subject. So he sat down and thought about it for some time and then decided that it probably was simpler to just add the coding to the monitors and force them to react on the signals. it took him quite some time to figure out all the needed functions and what he would be able to send as signals to the device. But when the programming had been finished, he breathed out and leaned back into his chair. He had never been good with the written word, but he was starting to get a basic idea on how to formulate all the coding.

The signals were strange and quite hard to figure out, but when he had something that hopefully would be able to translate the videos to long strings of information, he tried to send it to the storing device. Then he realized that he had no way to actually check if it worked or not. So he added in two new things to the code. One way to determine the remaining available space on the device and one function that translated the code back. Emi then made a short video that he send in and confirmed that it had taken up some space. He then tried to retrieve it from it, which appeared to take quite some time and some of the information came back corrupted. So Emi had to go through all of the coding, to see which line was the one resulting in him receiving the corrupted code.

After almost an hour, he noticed that the only reason that he hadn't received the correct information back, which made it corrupt, was because he had already used the same space on the device to store the first video. The only difference was that the second movie had been longer and used more complex colors, making it take up more space. So Emi had to flush the device clean from all of the information he had already stored and then try to do the same thing, but while adding in a unique storage space that he hoped still was unused. To make sure it was, he added in a check before he tried to store it. The video he was able to retrieve had lost some of its quality, but was still the exact same one that he had send into the device. So to reward himself, he went up to the kitchen and grabbed a quick snack before heading back down and continued on to make the quality better.

After he had managed to do a couple of videos, stored them and been able to receive either one of them successfully from the device, he thought that it probably was done, so he inserted everything into the shell and closed it. Emi made a few tweaks to the general appearance and added in the outlets, making it easy to connect to before he recolored the whole thing. Despite that it had the same material from the camera he wanted it to be a color closer to what he considered to be the color of wisdom. So he made the entire device into a nice and dark color of blue. When he made the final brushes with the brush, he looked around on the camera and thought that he probably should paint that one as well. So he brought out a few promising colors and made it dark grey and a dark green version of military pattern. Close up it looked like it was far from finished, but the colors were to make sure it was camouflaged.
