Since he knew that the handle also would need to be bend, but as he needed a stable point to even be able to bend anything, Emi had to twinched it into the workbench and attached it to a metal pole. There were just a few vibrations through the pole as he carefully began to bend the sword right above the handle, which made him slow down even further to make sure that the bend was even. When half of the bend had been done, he noticed that the machine had pulled the metal along a little, which proved that the pole he had used hadn't been properly stable point. But then he decided that the small difference that it would do was not anything he needed to worry about as he could see some black residue seep from the metal.

At first he thought that it was part of the mix he had used before, but as he noticed that the residue just vanished a few inches further down, he guessed that he was doing something right. So he continued to finish the bend before he turned the whole thing and bend it to the other side, the impressive part was that when he had taken it completely out from the machine and checked the same area he just bend, the surface shone a lot brighter and the color was even. So he really understood why the process was something that needed to be done, which made him instantly start bending the remaining parts of the sword. The insane amount of residue that kept on seeping out made him wonder what the metal had been through during its existence, but was happy when he finally had made the final fix.

The overall appearance was to his satisfaction, but for him to actually make it perfectly even he had to straighten it out once more, but as the machine was too rough for him, Emi had to hammer it out. The rhythmic hammering quickly made him fall into a meditative state which normally meant that he was completely in harmony with the craft he was doing. When the blade was completely flattened out, Emi grabbed the handle and swung it around a few times to see where most of the weight were laying, as he was unaccustomed using that kind of density. It proved to be fairly balanced as it if he were just to add the weight of the handle on, but he had to do a couple of changes before he added in the extra weight to make it easier to use for a left handed individual.

The added weight didn't look very good as it had to go out a little from the main body of the sword, but as he would just add on the handle wood surrounding it he didn't mind, it would just make it a little harder. When it was all done and he had evened out all sides of the edges and made the typical bend that katanas and wakizashis used to have, he threw some logs on the oven and started it up. Since the oven had proved to be a lot more stable the past times he felt like he really could trust if for the coming one as well. But just to make sure Emi felt like he wanted to try it out anyways, which later proved to be totally unnecessary as the oven remained in a perfect temperature during the entire trial.

When he had double checked in the book for the proper temperatures that needed for the metal to strengthen, Emi changed the properties on the oven to match it. Then he placed the proper construction to have it lay on into the oven and then pushed the sword on top of it before slowly closing the door to the oven and even out the temperature. While he waited for it to be in there for almost ten hours, he made sure to eat properly, which he almost always did while watching through the small hatch to the oven. When all of the hours were up and he was allowed to take it out, Emi grabbed his smithing glasses and heat resistant gloves and grabbed it in the middle of the blade with his tong.

The metal gave away some eerie bright light as he put it into the bath of oil which like always burst into the flames immediately when the blade hit the surface. As he removed it from the bath he had to wipe the remaining oil off, which he did by pouring some water across it before wiping it off with a smooth rag. It had come along quite nicely, so he then thought that it was actually time to start trimming the edges by actually giving it some sharpness to them. So he firstly made the proper measurements where he wanted the angle to start and where the middle of the blade was, before he activated the grinding machine and gently had the metal meet the machine in a burst of sparks and with a lot of noice coming out from it.

With all his experience using the machine it wasn't very hard for him to keep a steady hand while the band slowly reformed the surface of the blade into a lot smoother version. The roughest grit he had was essentially only to give the blade its final shape, but when he began to make them finer and finer, the true glisten of it appeared in front of him and he was able to give it some personality. When he had made the final fixes and the brush of the rag gave it the final glisten, Emi then only could add on the items that he had received from Zuruel to be used. So he took out the vial with the blood and applied it to the edge of the blade careful to not accidentally spin anything while still making sure all of the edge got equal amount.

The gem did he however want to add into the handle so he immediately went back to the blueprint to see what he had wanted to do with it while he swiftly brought out the proper wood that he wanted for it. He cut out the basic shape of the wood before he made the proper measurements to see where he wanted to cut out even more to give it the shape it needed to fit onto the metal. The tricky part was that he already had decided to use two different kinds, but he figured that he'd just use the inner one first before he even cared about the outer layer. When he finally had a proper piece that was able to fit on the handle he drilled two holes through the handle and screwed the wood tight around it with some glue in between.

The most enjoyable part was when Emi finally was able to grind down the outer layer, to give it the final shape , and as the wood was a better version than he usually used, he couldn't help but feel the urge to work with it more times. When the screws had been added and he had made some final sandpaper work he swung it around a few times with his left hand before he lay it in front of himself and added on the ribbons onto it. Now its only missing one additional detail, the sensation for it. The owner had required for it to be one of the weirdest sensations for a blade, for it to make onlookers feel genuine love for the wielder, which he knew he would need to replicated if he wanted to add it to the weapon. It was a difficult one as he had very little experience with the emotion, but he closed his eyes and tried to call back to the last time he actually felt it and then banded a thread of chakra with it around the blade.

He had to redo the process a few times to make sure that the feeling actually got stuck, but when he knew it had been integrated, he continued on with the addition to the blade, the sheath. The wood was different from the one he had used for the handle, so he had to remove the previous ones and Cut the large shapes that he had decided he would need to make it the most durable. When he had merged the pieces and added in the fabrics between the layers he evened out the surface firstly using a normal plane and then sandpaper. When he had perfected the sheaths surface he applied two different kinds of oil, one to preserve the wood and the other to make it more durable to physical damage.

Then when it was shining bright he and added a layer of metal to the top of the sheath to make sure that there would be no long lasting injury to it if from drawing the blade often. But as he drilled into the wood, there was a small crack in the surface, not anything dangerous but something he just couldn't accept if he wanted it to be perfect. So he had to remove the damaged wood, which wasn't that much but still made a dent in the surface. Then he added on a whole new piece on top of it, which was more complex than he wanted it to be as he had to match the pattern on the wood with the already existing pattern. But after some tinkering he found a matching version and was able to apply which made it so the seam was almost invisible. When the sheath was done Emi pushed the sword into it and observed the final result, it was really enjoyable piece of craft.

Emi had decided that it was time for him to train some more to improve his ability as an ANBU bear, which meant that he had to focus on defensive Justus. Since he had several ones that focused on defending himself from harm, he wanted to make sure that he could put up a longer protection that could shield several people at the same time. The element that he wanted to use was obvious the earth release, as it had all the strongest properties needed to be as much in the way as possible. So he walked up to a desolate hill in the village and sat down in the mud in the lotus position and grabbed a little mud in each hand as an attempt to get a little closer to the earth. Then he tried to use his previous experience with the earth to feel it surrounding him and slowly send in some chakra into it, making the ground beneath him a part of his control. It had been quite some time since he last had used the earth release, so it felt like he was stretching out a limb that had been bend too long without any motions, numb and clumsy.

So he had to give it a few minutes of just normal meditation before he felt like he was in the correct state to make some more advanced technique with the earth. As he reached it Emi swiftly went through a couple of different animal shapes before he decided that he had properly warmed up for the new technique. Then Emi began to make a small prototype with the mud to see how he wanted it, which at first only resembled the normal earthen domes that he already had learned how to make. To him it made too much sense that the structure had to be rounded for it to be able to take as much damage as possible, but after he had made a few versions where he just made it harder and in one thicker he thought that there had to be a better way. So he had to change his perspective and instead of thinking how it would be indestructible he began to think of things that would make it annoying to attack. The first thing he came to think off was that the surface of the creation would be too hard to touch for the attacker that it wasn't anything just anyone would want to do.

The first idea was to just have some spikes erupt from its surface, but as that would constantly drain chakra, rearrange the structure and be fairly easily avoided he changed his mind. He needed something more drastic, which made him wonder about the other possible releases, the ones that made most sense was the ones he had never used before, fire and lightning. The lightning release wasn't something he had any idea of how he would be able to replicate, so he decided that he had to be using the damage from fire release, heat. As he just couldn't produce flames that danced along the surface of the dome, he figured that he had to force the earth to reach drastically high temperature. The only way he could come up with was to use the friction in the earth rubbing against itself to make all the heat, which he realized would be a lot harder than it sounded. So the first step became to figure out what kind of earth he would be able to use to make the heat become true.

As he wanted to use the friction, Emi began to rub two handfuls amount of mud together, slowly at first but then fast and faster until the mud just kept on falling out of his hands. Emi then instead choose to use some chakra to guide the mud, so he gathered a large amount of chakra and send it down into the earth to be able to use later. Then he had approximately the same amount of earth balls levitate above the ground before he had them crash hard into each other and then rapidly spin in different directions. He could sense how difficult it was to actually keep them moving in the middle which made him hopeful as he reached out with his hand to see if it actually had gotten warmer. The earth was slightly warmer than what it was surrounding him, but he wasn't quite sure if it was due to his attempts or if it was since it was separated from the rest of the cold ground. So to see which one it was, Emi raised another four pairs of mud and allowed three of them to just hang in the air while his two remaining pairs rotated against each other.

When he had allowed to do that for a while with increasingly higher pressure and speed Emi stopped and brought the spheres over to himself to see if the result was as he had hoped. All of the spheres that had been levitating were at least slightly warmer than the mud around him, but the two that he had rotating were significantly warmer. Happy that his trials had proven effective Emi allowed the extra spheres to fall down to the ground and perish while he tried to learn which way the other spheres had to turn to get hottest. His first idea was to just have it rotate and therefor touch around more corners, it made sense to him and since he couldn't come up with anything better he immediately tried it out. As suspected the new paths were complex enough for him to need a lot higher focus on the spheres, which made him glad he destroyed the other spheres. But he was able to see that it actually had really good results as they even began to give away some steam, which was the best proof of its heat that he could ask for.

But what would happen if I made the balls even smaller? He wondered as he came to realize that the size affected both how fast something got warm and how swiftly it could move. So he divided all of the pieces into less than one third of their original size before he forced them to make their dance for him again. The spheres movements were a lot more agile and he could feel that he no longer needed the same forced focus on each and everyone of them, he just needed to allow his chakra to guide the overall pattern. The rain that hit the rotating spheres sizzled and instantly turned into steam and just a few seconds later it had gotten so warm that they couldn't even get close to them before vanishing. That is when he figured that he wanted to see if he could choose the type of earth to use for his spheres to give them some additional benefits to create further heat. To him it made sense that the things in the ground that would have the highest friction was the stones as they contained different kinds of metal while having a rough surface.

So he pulled up a few stones from the ground which had approximately the same diameter as the spheres he had used the last trial and had them start rotating. They immediately began to screech and scream in an awful way which made the Hoshigaki twitch all over and therefor lost the control he had over the stones. Emi did however not allow them to crash into the ground before he caught them with his chakra again, but he knew that he would need to change the idea with it as he couldn't accept that screeching. Then he wondered whether he wanted to make the surface smoother or if he could get away with just surround the stones with some dirt to reduce the sounds. As he wasn't sure he decided that he just had to test both the ideas, which he did all at the same time to make sure that it wouldn't take too long time to decide. To make it easier on himself, Emi created a kage bunshin that could take care of the other possibility, so he wouldn't need to focus on both and make them both injustice.

And to make sure that he wouldn't be distracted by the other trial, Emi told the clone that they would sit with their back to each other so they wouldn't be able to see how it went. It was a little unnecessary on that test as they wanted to avoid making sound, but visible hints also made a difference as they would develop their process on their own. The clone took the instructions with joy and decided to experiment with the kind of stone that he had to use and what kind of dirt he was to cover them with. He ended up choosing a softer kind of stone and a small amount of mud to make it more aerodynamic, hoping that would be a combination of the two versions. The original had no idea of the cheating and was busy making perfectly rounded spheres before he asked the clone if his was ready, when they both were the stones began to rapidly spin. When there were little to no sound from either one of the trials Emi stopped and was stunned, for both of them to be exactly as effective was unlikely, so he turned around to see how the clone had fixed it.

When he saw that the clone had cheated he almost dismissed him, but then realized that the version was really well thought off, and he told the clone to smoothen the surface of the stones. The clone twitched as he realized he was observed, but quickly followed the orders while the real Emi sat and observed the result. After they had made a couple of different attempts, they found that a larger stone and a layer of powdered earth in between very quickly got hot and had a really high maximum temperature. The type of materials contained in the stone proved to be essential, which forced him to actually study what qualities all of the good stones had and discovered that a large amount of it needed to be a high density metal. Even though he tried several different kinds, he found that there wasn't any difference after he had passed a certain limit, making stones still plausible in comparison to pure metal spheres. Then after some additional attempts, they found out that the thin layer they needed to have in between the spheres had to be a mixture of sand and organic dirt with a minimum amount of water.

It was hard for him to actually pull off having it completely dry without the use off his ability to manipulate that element as well. But when the rotations had successfully heated up the stone, the water evaporated so quickly that he figured that if he just kept most of the water away it wouldn't need to be any better. So he then thought of the next step, which he quickly decided was to make it into the proper technique. Which meant that he brought up a lot more of each component into the air and then made it follow the same pattern as he had trained on. As the massive amount had to rotate differently, Emi found it a little too difficult for him to actually handle it on his own. So he told the clone to help him by handling the functions on his side, but even though he was able to relieve himself with half the work, the middle kept on getting messy.

The two of them tried to figure out a proper way to handle the border in between the two sides, but the more they tried to manipulate it and order it, the more the sides collided. Then Emi figured that the best way to do it was to simply leave a gap, but just try to have it as thin as humanly possible. Not very surprisingly there were no problem when he allowed a large gap in the freshly created dome, but when he made it smaller and then into the width he wanted to have, it just kept of getting messy. The result made him think for a brief moment if he actually would want to just have it as a wall instead of a dome, but quickly decided that no, he wanted it to be a perfect defensive structure. So he couldn't allow any flaw, especially not any that was large enough to let any stray attack or well though attack go through. Emi then told the clone to stop what he was doing and help him figure out a better way, which started off an intense discussion and a lot of drawing in the mud.

When they were done they had figure out two possible solutions to their problem, one to have a lot of lanes that collided with both other lanes passing by in the opposite direction. The other was to have a lot of circles rotating and having a few smaller ones to cover up the holes in between them. Since he wanted to keep the most promising one for last, Emi began with circles one, which was a clear improvement to his first attempt with the clone. The dome was looking good and had an incredible heat beaming down on them in there and it didn't allow any rain water to come down on them. But he saw that even though he had a few small circles in the holes, they didn't cover everything and he couldn't make them any bigger. As he didn't know how much the surrounding heat protected the holes, Emi picked up a stone and told the clone focus on that area for him.

The stone flew straight at the hole and was visibly damaged by going through the wall, but even though it was a tenth of a stone left, it still got through. A few curses left the boy as he tried to see if it was possible to make additional circles in front or behind the actual dome, but in vain, it constantly left some holes open. So he scrapped that idea and had his clone disband the entire dome before the talked up the strategy for the linear version of the dome. When both of them knew what to do, Emi made a line across the sky to have as a guide for them before both had their components fly up and instantly form the dome. At first there were quite significant distance in between the lines, but when the structure was all set, Emi and the clone allowed all the lines to come closer until they finally met. The reaction was a lot stronger than he had anticipated which made him loose a little of his focus, but as it returned he just gazed at the dome of red light in front of him.

It was like there were no actual earthen materials in the dome anymore, only flames and light merged into a compact texture. Emi could feel that the creation required a lot of chakra and still more focus than he would want, but as the result was well beyond his satisfaction, he couldn't help but allow it. After trying with another stone, he knew that there wouldn't be anything that could get through that solid thing of pure energy. But as he sat in there and analyzed what happened in the dome, he realized that there were a massive thing that made him waste a lot of chakra, he constantly drew up new materials. The ground only had a limited amount of the required minerals, so for him to get them into proper place, he had to take them from quite far away without actually using them on their travel. Which was obvious when he finally found the growing pile of orange rubble that came from the scraps of the dome.

But how can I constantly use it instead of having to reuse it? that was a slightly harder question than he had thought, but after some additional drawings on the ground that constantly got drier from the lack of rain and constant heat, he found a way. Instead of having it go from the bottom up and then back down on the other side, he had it so the lines went around the dome in infinite circles. What he didn't like with that however was that it forced him to actually keep a massive concentration on the whole task just to keep it going. All the different sizes of the circles forced him to have a very precise amount of chakra flowing out, and the clone was almost incapable of assisting with the burden as he would just be in the way. So he asked the clone if he possibly could come up with a better pattern for the material to travel, or if they could divide it easier. The sighed as normal, not thrilled to actually aid the boy with his training, but he then sat down and tried to further develop the technique.

It didn't take long before the clone asked the original if it wasn't possible to change the shape of the creation into a triangle or cube. At first Emi declined the possibility, but after a few minutes of thinking he had to accept the possibility and asked the other what kind of shape would be the best. The clone just shrugged his shoulders and said that both of the versions had their up and down sides, but Emi forced him to reveal them to avoid having to think of them himself. When the clone forcibly accepted to show him, Emi dropped the current shield and turned around to see what the clone had to say. It became obvious to him that the triangle version would be a lot easier to handle as it reminded of the doom. But the cube appeared to a lot more promising to the boy as he would be able to keep a steady and constant pattern that didn't allow any difference in layers.

So he disregarded the triangle version completely and immediately thought of the path of the minerals to travel through the cube. Emi then tried it out in a small scale with fittingly sized minerals, which didn't completely become as heated as he had his focus elsewhere. The manipulation of the minerals were the easy part, but to have them change direction in the incredibly fast pace, that was hard. But after a short while, he was able to have a small amount travel the proper path, slower than he intended to have them, but still fast enough for him to get a good grip of the turns. To make it a little easier to handle, Emi dragged up some more earth from the ground and made it into a large scale version and carefully looked on where the minerals refused to properly do as he wanted. The boy smiled when he finally was capable of closing his eyes and feel all of it moving around and slowly add more to the cube to cover more of it.

When he had made the entire lap a few hundred times and was completely confident in his ability to remain in the proper path, he asked the clone to do the same but in the other direction. They would take half of the lines each and hope that they were to align properly when meeting up with each other. Frustratingly enough for the boy, his clone fail at first at making them travel correction, making him sigh each time they had to redo it. As the stones used constantly got crushed when the clone failed, Emi had to drag up a larger supply to make sure that they continued to have more for the remaining trials. When the clone finally got the hang of it however, everything began to go so smoothly and the cube was instantly covered in the red fiery veil. Emi smiled from the result and noticed that the cube was perfectly covered and not even the corners had any possible weakness to them.

It didn't fully feel like he had mastered the technique just yet however, but despite that he though that it was time to start thinking about what kind of handseals he wanted to use on it. So while he had his clone perform the jutsu, Emi stood up and carefully observed all of the minor parts that were essential for it to work. At first he had to figure out the proper seals to draw out the correct minerals from the ground, which made him need to insert chakra in the surrounding earth. Emi then performed the proper seal to manage his chakra and send it through his feet into the ground, the he generalized a seal to find possible stones that he wanted to use. The result wasn't completely as he had hoped for as most of them that excited the ground were of wrong caliber or just too impure for him to use for the technique. So he had to search through his mind after a fitting handseal, but had to accept that it wasn't possible to limit it down enough with just one, which made him consider a couple of combinations with it.

After he had gone through all of them, he realized that his experience were too limited with those kind of ways to combine handseals, so he had to try them out to see what they really did. A few of them had a weird effect such as sprouting out a large amount out of the ground or turn the ground into a different color, but after some trials he had found the one he needed. The quantity of stones were however quite disappointing and he wondered if he would need to find another seal to determine how much he wanted to bring out. But then he shook his head as he realized that it was just for him to add in more chakra to the technique, just as it was with basically all of the earth Justus that he knew. So when he doubled the chakra that he send down, he saw that the result was still not satisfying, making him worried about how much power he actually would need to use before the technique would be complete. "Maybe I need to make it more effective immediately?" The thought was however brief as he didn't want to go back and loose track on his progress.

So he send in all of the chakra necessary to pull up enough stones for the first load of the technique, it was hard for him to put an amount of how much he needed to use, but he estimated by comparing to other Justus that he knew. When he successfully stored the information in his short term memory, Emi went on to the next stage, to gather the particles that he needed to have in between all the stones. That was a lot easier for him to do, both because the material was a lot more common than that of the stones, but also because it was a much finer type. The particles poured up from the ground and gathered by the stones as he finally found a good seal for it, which he then distributed evenly amongst the stones before releasing the control over it. Before he had the materials to follow their paths and make the cube, Emi had all of it line up properly in starting position, just to make it easier for him to start it off without having them crash into each other. When he was done lining it all up, he realized that he had made an easy mistake, he hadn't allowed half of the lines to be empty for the minerals to go in the opposite direction as his clones version.

The he figured that he could just as well allow the remaining lines to only keep their material to remain in place as the other ones went through the cube pattern. It wasn't the fanciest of solutions, but it couldn't be much more practical than that as he needed to know exactly which lines weren't already being occupied with risking to collide with the others. Then he realized that he hadn't decided upon a seal for the positioning, so he agitatedly search from his memory for a fitting one, but found none. The boy sighed and decided that he had to improvise a little and threw in the bear sign to force the user to custom guide the material. It was an ugly fix that he really didn't feel proud of, but he knew that it sometimes had to be like that when creating techniques out of the blue. To then send the particles away in a straight line was however a lot easier for him to translate into seals as it was commonly used when sending away projectiles.

Emi then stopped to think if he wanted to have a set size of the cube or if he wanted it to be dynamically decided upon the creation of it. Even though it was compelling to have it suitable for any possible situation, he knew that he already had protective shields that could work for those purposes. So he instead directed the technique towards a more stationary and powerful version, which allowed him to have set dimensions on the cube. As it was essential to be able to cover large objects if he wanted it to be such a powerful version, all of the sizes had to be a little excessive in comparison to the previous version they had made. So he increased the side tenfold before he accepted them to be long enough for the cube, which then allowed him to implement the time it took for the particles to travel that distance into his planning. When he had made a proper pattern for the seals to translate how the particles needed to go, he tried it out while adding a larger amount of chakra to boost the speed of them.

Since there were no particles going in the opposite direction just yet, the result was not very impressive but he felt like he was doing some progress with his work. Emi then added in a couple of similar yet opposite seals before he released the still particles, trying to activate them to got their own path. It did however not go as he had intended and all the new stones headed into random directions and ruined the previous paths and even destroyed the clone that sat in the middle of the cube. Emi then swore and released the chakra to avoid further damage before he returned everything back to their basic spots and restarted the whole session. That time he made sure not to just assume that the opposite seals were the correct ones and actually calculated which ones were supposed to work as intended.
