The stones around the rock sides seemed to attract some of the smaller fish in groups. Kaito had moved his way to the right side, keeping a five yard distance from the wall. The rocks provided enough light at this distance to help with his eyesight and he could better examine the aquatic life in this river canal. The light that was provided was quickly dimmed and soon even blocked entirely by the dark waters, and because of this Kaito's eyes were having to adjust.
He started to pick up on movements of the fish around him or ahead of him. Sometimes he didn't even see the fishes body, but rather he'd catch its movement as it moved about in the water. In fact he was becoming quit good at observing the darting fish moving about him. That was one of the few things he could focus on. Aside form the appearance of new glowing rocks, and the strange light they emitted, Kaito was beginning to grow board of the same thing again and again.
Then a movement caught the edge of his vision. Just in his peripherals, near the middle of the river, underneath him, a movement that created a large ripple even Kaito could see. All the smaller fish scattered when it came through. His interested peaked, the hoshigaki kept his eyes trainedd in the area, scanning for more movements in the dim light in the depths of the secret river.
His eyes adjusted kind of how a normal persons eyes acquire a sort of night vision in the dark. But his was becoming more acute, as if not only was it easier to pick up on motions and changes in the water, but also it seemed as if his eyes were utilizing the light to more effectiveness. The dark seemed to become clearer in a strange way. And boy would it have to, as in veiw came a rather large fish, that didn't seem all that pleased to have a predator swimming around its domain.
Speeding out of the darkness, Kaito's eyes widened at first, then his expression tightened. Quickly discarding the surprise for a sort of terrifying joy as his mouth opened in a wide smile. Kaito turnedd forward adn powered through the water with ease, his strong muscled legs kicking and arms pulling as his body seemed to sway in the water. This chase would be a delight as he tried to navigate the dim waters with his eye sight. No better way to see better then when properly motivated.
