Description: User is able to move forward in a straight line along the ground in almost instantaneous untraceable speed while temporarily masking the user's movements within 10 meters. A puff of smoke is occasionally used to disguise the user's movements. It is accomplished by focusing the user's chi along the ankles and foot. User mostly moves just with their ankles and feet. Jutsu takes up no movements. User may only use this Jutsu half of the movements may allow in a single round while rounding down. Example: User has 5 movements, user is able to perform Jutsu 2 times per round.
Limit: Universal NinJutsu or Universal TaiJutsu.

People were beginning to gather from the surrounding settlements, heading towards the blazing valley. They were all people that Deena had no wish to interact with, and so she sought to advance past them.

Deena began to sprint towards the crowd. Her feet kicked off the gravel of the flat road, sending it high up into the air. Her speed in the open was rather incredible, all things considered. The more she ran, the more she appeared like a blur. She streaked forth into the darkness. The speed of her run snuffed out the flower of flame that she carried.

The sound of Deena’s footsteps began to melt together. It started out as a steady drumbeat, but soon evolved into a symphony of clattering against the hard floor. A long dust cloud rose from where she ran, but the newer masses of uplifted dirt became lower as the teenager advanced.

Speed gave a lot of powerful kicks to the earth, but they became less pronounced at a certain threshold. The blur of the fast moving teenage girl began to draw less and less of everyone’s eye. Her blur stretched, camouflaged by the darkness. The numerous footsteps soon morphed into a single long noise with every dash.

Deena felt the wind rush through her hair, and she was soon able to sprint a clear ten meters in what amounted to one burst of effort and determination. This pattern went onward as the distant valley faded from view. A destination was appearing straight ahead, in the form of a variety of small homes that made up an unknown village.

You know what's a fun thing? Turning into animals! Well, you can do that already with the fancy shinobi henge thing, but there's a way to do it that convinces animals of your identity! To use it, you have to be quite invested in the art of animal instincts, so that you can imitate it for your veil. It's not a physical transformation like henge, though I guess you can pair them together to get a better effect.

The primal instincts of an animal are very easy to grasp, because we have it inside ourselves as well. It is hidden behind every enraged face, and peeks around the corner when you're most afraid. Since it is always present, the process is not to imitate the instincts of a wild animal, but to draw it out unhindered.

It’s not a literal savage transformation, mind you. The instincts you’re drawing out have to be immediately infused to the chakra that makes up the disguise. It’s like adding a scent to your illusions. If you have the aura of a beast, the beasts won’t question your presence, even when your footsteps don’t seem to match their weight.

There are limits, of course. Animals of extreme sizes have a biological code that is so difficult to replicate that we can’t use this deception for them. It’s not that it’s too different from us, it’s that they require us to expand or retract our field too much. Think of shelves. Everyone might have the same things in their shelf, but we can’t take those things and cram them into a shelf that’s too small, or occupy one that is too big.

The appearance is simple enough. It’s something we can draw from our own biology, as well. We have body hair, and taking that to the extreme will get us fur. Nails can be fortified and augmented to become the claws of a predator. You’re familiar with actual claws thanks to our bloodline, so you can draw from that as well. The wings we already grow is more than enough to handle the duplication of feathers when it comes to aerial creatures. Most of the rest is close enough to only require some shifting around. The common ones that are so universally shared are blood, flesh, and bone.

Illusory veils have their limits, of course. We’re giving off the aura of an animal’s instinct so that we can walk among them, but it doesn’t do much else for us. We won’t adopt their way of thinking. Such a mindset is dangerous for humans. Our reason is still preserved beneath the disguise. Similarly, since our physical body does not truly change, we can’t take on their characteristics. Imitating a bird won’t let us fly with their wings. We can still fly along side them since we have our own wings, though it’s not entirely the same.

Oh yes, and there are handseals of course. It’s not quite something we can trigger with our minds, yet. There are too many things to keep track of for us to do it as a mind to matter illusion.

Fire Style: Burning Blade Technique

Effect: Creates a blade composed completely out of fire that the user can control.

Drawback: The user must hold the Tiger seal. If the user releases the seal, the flaming sword will disappear.
Description: The user performs the handseals, creating a levitating, flaming sword. The sword can be controlled with the user’s mind as long as the Tiger handseal is maintained. In this way, the user can attack and defend easily while maintaining motion. This sword can be controlled a maximum of five turns. “C” Rank training can be performed a maximum of two times to increase the number of swords created by this jutsu by one each time it is trained, for a maximum of three swords.

A few days after escaping from the burn valley, Deena found herself in a quiet village a few dozen miles away. Word of the disaster hadn’t reached this far, yet. On the porch of a tavern, Deena sat and read the book she recovered from the mountaintop. She studied some of the advanced spells that were found close to the sun burst creator. She one that caught her eye was a technique used to create a blazing sword.

The runes in the book were getting easier to decipher over time, and Deena devoured the information. She studied which handseals were needed to activate the effects, and where her mind had to be before the swords could be used properly. Using the technique required her to hold the final handseal as an active controller of the technique, which was a hindrance since it forced her out of the ability to perform other spells.

The sword itself was still more than sufficient gain for such a drawback. The amount of time it lasted could allow an extended offensive against multiple enemies, but her mind needed to be focused at all times. She needed to keep a small but sturdy tether connected to the sword.

Deena didn’t have a sword to mimic yet, so for the moment she concentrated on creating a flame that she could control. If the position of the fire could then be shifted to wherever she pleased, she would have the basics of the technique confirmed. Creating a sustained flame was already something she was familiar with after summoning the exploding sun.

How I came about making the fire sword is irrelevant now. You are familiar with swords already, so you don't need any information beyond the need for a lingering flame, and the handseals needed to initiate that formation. Concentrate now on all the curves, grooves, and corners of a sword, and how you'd need to recreate all of that through the use of flame. It isn't an easy task, since the sword if a very specific and contained shape, whereas fire will always try to run free and disappear.

The way you use a sword, there is a lot that hinges on the weight when you swing it. Unfortunately, there is no weight to the fire. You still have to make it swing the same way, but you have to be able to imitate the swinging motion without any weight to guide the movement. This takes a lot of memory and imagination on your part.

Thick back to the many swords you've used, and how they are balanced. The blazing blade must copy their paths, retain their shape, and move though the air by your will. Moving the blade will also take a lot of focus on your part, and a constant tether to your energy source. That means you need to expend as little energy as you can on other things.

The lingering flame has to find a way to maintain itself with as little influence from you as possible. That way you can cross that off from the requirement of persistence. The shape and movement is the core of this technique, and what you'll need to refine as time goes on. Everything must be cared for, evenly, when it comes to the fire aspects. Fire will rush to where it is most free, so a weak link is fatal for the sword.

You're free to try and use it right off the bat. If our memories are connected closely enough, you might be able to use the technique without needing to go through the motions. See, you can make fire easily, given what you already know. The flames are not as hot as they could be, but it is decent. Orange fire is an average color. It is more than enough to use as the basis for the sword in this technique. The difficulty comes when you try to shape it.

See, if you go directly for the image of the sword, the form collapses. It can't be sustained. This isn't like creating crystal swords, it doesn't stay in place after you mold its contours. Just like the bursting sun, you need a container for the destructiveness of it all. It isn't nearly as easy when you think about it. When you try and mold the container to be a sword, there are far too many specific parts that places it away from the perfect sphere of the sun.

Now, you're trying to take hold of the sword, of the blade. You can pull it off right now, but that is only because the flames are weak enough to be blocked by the force of our soul. If it glowed any hotter, you wouldn't be able to touch it. It's at least good to start off with. Holding the blade like that allows you to better visualize the sword you're trying to create with this technique. Muscle memory of holding your swords, as little as it may exist, will do what it can to build up your vision.

This is a good way to start up the process, since you can feel the discomfort of a weightless blade. Your instincts won't allow you strike how you wish while using that sword. The shape could also still use some work. It looks like a balloon sword more than anything else. Not what you'd think of as an effective weapon.

Try a few test swings and you’ll see the ineffectiveness as well. The blade, when you move it, curves and bends as it moves through the hair. The sword isn’t kept in a rigid dimension, so it swipes through the air like a flimsy whip. It’s easy to see coming and easy to avoid, since it takes a while for the fire blade at the end to follow through with the motions at the handle.

That’s the inherit problem with you trying to use the flames as an actual sword. Actual swords place too much emphasis on the use of the handle to adjust the orientation of the blade. You have to forget that train of thought entirely, and think of the sword as a whole living entity. The snake is as good of a comparison you can get.

Like with a snake, the entire body of the sword is its strength. There is muscle from one end to another, and their combined used allows for great feats. When the sword moves, its blade moves and much as its hilt. Fire does not play any favorites with its construction. It is the master of all trades, will to strike with its entire body when it comes to attacking.

We'll start from the bottom of the sword and work our way up as we define how to shape the fire. At the very end of the handle, there is the pommel of the sword. It isn't present in all forms of swords, but it's a good reference point of how we want certain parts of the weapon to act. When swinging the blazing sword through the air, the pommel should be moving in the opposite direction of the blade as the swing is in progress.

Since the pommel is located at one of the ends of the blades, it's one of the points with the highest concentrations of heat, and one of the most likely spots for fire to escape from. Even if the sword you create doesn't have a pommel, you need to have a chakra plug to block the flow of the inferno. It is a vital region that lets the creation circulate its destructive force. If it isn't stopped, your sword will vanish before you can get any use out of it.

Because there aren't any physical hands upon the sword when it's levitating, the pommel will also be a point that applies thrust on the rest of the creation when you make a stabbing motion. A stab has the whole of the sword moving in a pointed direction. The pommel is where you push it off, sending it flying forth. Try thinking of it as a bow and arrow. The string pushes against the end of the sword, allowing it to take flight and pierce its targets.

The pommel is probably the smallest part of the blade you need to worry about. In most cases, a simple nub is all you need to make to seal the end of the handle together. In swords where such a part if included, they keep the blade from slipping out of your hand when it is thrust forward. Instead of the sword slipping out in this case, you're preventing the heat and flame from slipping out.

This is a blade you must force out from the air. Think in terms of a blacksmith, and how he would refine the process of creating the object. The chakra is the minuscule core of the sword. It is essentially the metal that you start with in a forging process. The rest of the sword grows out from it, and you add other essential substances as you go. It is suspected in the heavens, and pounded by the winds.

Out from the heart of the sword, there is the sustenance. The chakra must feed upon the surroundings in order to burst into a blaze. It does not act alone in that. The flames of the blade must be formed from the air itself. You steal away the oxygen and let it ignite along the reaction. It is what gives the sword its color and bulk, without which there is nothing significant striking at the enemy. The core of chakra is not enough to be solid or harmful.

A blade must be tempered to have the potential to be a work of art. It must be bounded and concentrated, not allowed to be set free. Its internal mass must be captured in a shell. This is easy when the blade is of metal, since metal holds itself together on its own. In this case, you must be the binding stability that keeps the blade from springing loose. It must not shatter merely from a strike. No weak points should be allowed to exist, or else the power has an outlet to release itself.

There is no weight to the blade. A metal sword will get its power from its weight, combined with the strength of the user. This flame sword gets it power from its heat, along with the resilience of your own chakra. You must learn to substitute one for the other in order to get the most out of the technique. There is a balance between the two, but you have to be wary of where it is found.

The blade of flame had been formed. It took a while, but Tarah finally had the memory of the technique click for her, and the creation of the object became smooth and easy. She still felt a portion of it was somehow missing from her mind. Deena had more to the technique than had been shown so far. Still, as far as Tarah knew, she was able to create the object as intended. The blazing weapon's hilt hovered a finger length away from Tarah's nails. It hung parallel to her arm, like a lengthened limb.

Deena appeared before Tarah in a physical body. The older past life formed a similar blade of fire. Tarah's blade stayed relative to her hand, so moved as she moved. It was very much a part of her body. Deena's blade was freed from the constraints of her body, and spun over her head. It was a weightless creature. Knowing instinctively that a spar was to take place, Tarah brought her hand back and prepared to charge at the older soul.

Tarah ran forth. She swung her arm before her, and let the blade scorch the air. Deena easily ducked, having seen the arm in motion before the blade followed. Her own sword stopped spinning in the air. It angled down at Tarah, then thrust down at her chest. The light and heat barely gave enough time to react. Tarah slipped out of the way, but the blade cut across her shoulder, leaving burnt clothing.

As the pain of the minor injury surged through her nervous system, Tarah's flame sword flickered. It nearly went out during her momentary lapse of concentration. She had to jump away and reconstruct the shape. Deena waited for this to be done, seeing no sense in disturbing the process this time. She didn't plan to give such leeway when it happened again. This was a combat technique, it needed to survive combat conditions.

The warm glow reached Tarah's side. The intensity she transferred into the sword had made it grow in strength. It was almost blinding to look at. Tarah was slightly disappointed by the sight, since that meant a lot of energy was wasted on light instead of heat. Deena, unphased by the sight of the stronger sword, increased the power of her own to match. The orange glow filled the training room.

Tarah thrust her arm forward, letting the sword loose from her reach. It shot at Deena like an arrow and flew straight without the slightest curve to the ground. The older soul sidestepped the sword and let it pass. Her own sword went off to the side, then swept at Tarah in a huge slash. A trail of heat followed, making the air quiver from the intensity of the raw blade. Tarah narrowly dodged the slash by stepping back.

Tarah's flying sword nearly collided with the wall on the opposite end. She had lost focus of it while dodging Deena's strike, but managed to take control again before it was lost to her. She called the sword back to her side. It hovered over her shoulder, twisting in the air and waiting to lunge again. Deena mimicked the action. The two girls stared at one another across the room. Their swords each flickered as a fraction of their power turned into a burst of movement.

The swords passed one another in the air as they flew. They waltzed in the air, far less predictable than the last attacks. Still, Deena was better at it. Her sword struck Tarah in the stomach. The burn it left was harsh, taking a great amount of willpower to even stay conscious. Tarah's blade merely struck Deena's shoulder. It was a shallow hit that had no chance to be lethal. Though, of course, Deena was a shadow clone, and was dispatched by such an attack.

Katon - Ryuuka no Jutsu (Dragon Fire Technique)

Effect: The user quickly performs a large creation of blinding fire into the form of a large Dragon form. The Dragon must be used in the same concept as the Goukakyuu no Jutsu in which must be thrown by placing a hand in a circle form over the mouth of the user.
Special: "Handseals"
Drawback: This type of technique is better used if the opponent is bonded down and unable to be moved.
Description: A Large creation is created as the user performs the necessary handseals for the technique. As the user does so they raise their hand up over their mouth. By taking in a deep, breathe the user fills their lungs with chakra to in, which ignites the moment they blow out air. As the user blows out the creation of fire is made taking the form of a giant dragon like creature. The Dragon is quickly hurled towards the opponent as the dragon swivels and swerves moving like that of a Chinese Dragon. When first learned the Dragon does not explode forth but the very flames oozes out spreading out in all directions that would wrap around the opponent in a blaze of glory. When the user learns the "B" Rank version the user is capable of pushing so much power into the technique to where when it touches the target it is needed it is ignited in a mass blaze of glory, creating a grand explosion.

Tarah let her sword of fire collapse. It lost the shape of a blade, but the flames did not wither and fade into the air. Instead, the fire twisted through the surroundings like a lost snake. Tarah sat herself on the ground of the training room and focused her spiritual energy on the fire snake. It was barely in her control, and it stole portions of chakra as it struggled to survive longer than it was supposed to. It didn’t really have a mind of its own, since Tarah was still guiding it by her mind, but the movements implied that it had instincts.

The instinct of fire is often thought to be destruction. That is the activity it naturally indulges in when loose upon the world. It eats through everything like a mighty beast. Still, as Tarah observed the flaming serpent twisting through the air, she found more from its hunger than its result. When it took from her chakra, it was nothing more desperate than a need to survive. In that way, the living and twisting flame was not too different from a person.

Tarah called the coil of fire to her side. She let it hover before her eyes, and fed it more of her chakra. It grew in size, the features became more distinct, and Tarah felt some sort of recognition as she gazed upon the shining heat. Then, with no warning, the flames collapsed and finally ended its existence. Tarah was left grasping at the warm hair between her fingers. Deena spoke in her head again. The older soul explained the origins of the familiarity, how the temptation of the flame serpent was traced to one of the great champions of fire.

The serpent’s shape was supposed to be a dragon, though it could not properly root itself into the world before Tarah understood that shape. It might have been a natural form of fire chakra, or perhaps a strong association that was passed down through the lifetimes. Giving the fire the form of a dragon wasn’t as wasteful as one would think. Connecting chakra to an image of life gives the technique itself more life-like motions. The realization connected in Tarah’s mind like reconnecting cords.

Handseals were made again, specifically to call out the creature in Tarah’s mind. Her memories of a flame serpent returned to her eyes, but she made the features even sharper. She saw the long and wavy body of the flying dragon. She crafted its sharp teeth, like curved candle flames. The natural way that flames shimmered and bubbled through the air allowed the formation of the dragon’s scales. All these thoughts accompanied the handseals, and when complete, Tarah breathed out a grand line of dangerous orange from her lips.
