"Impossible! How can this be?"

"I am unsure, but it appears he seeks the great power."

"Indeed he does... Let us lure him to us. See if he will pass our challenges."

Three voices called out as they looked upon a large crystal ball. They were planning things, though what they were was uncertain to all but them. For now... the one known as Kyogi would be called out to. A temple of sorts seemed to be calling his name, and trying to fight it led only to the call getting louder and more persistent. Only when he would approach and enter the temple would the call cease.



Once inside of its walls, Kyogi would see the strange look to it. Hieroglyphics marked the walls, and a small pool of water was within the center of the temple. Across from the pool was a statue of a strange cat (Because I said so). But further looking would cause Kyogi to notice... There was nothing more. No entrances or exits, save for the one he had used to enter the temple itself.

Moments of silence passed before suddenly a voice rang through the temple. It was the voice of a boy. And after moments, the echoes of the voice would show Kyogi that he was standing right behind him.

"I have been expecting you."

[Kyogi]

As Kyogi traveled the land of frost something got into his head. Voices were calling him asking him to come. It was rather annoying they were new voices rather than hearing Araqiel. They wanted him to come and as he tried to ignore them the voices stayed persistent and frustrating. Finally he’d be coerced to change course and head towards the voices.

Kyogi was wearing white clothing that helped him blend into the snow in the area. He wore a white blazer with a matching white shirt beneath it. His pants were the same color, upon his feet was a change of color wearing blue shoes. Over his forehead is his sound headband and above the headband is a pair of goggles equipped with thermal vision, lie detector and anti-flash lenses. Attached to the right side of his pants is a double utility pouch holding a world map a compass and 1 slot of black sealing ink.

The voices were still in his head but much quieter as he got closer to a temple. The door was open so he made his way into the temple. Peace, Kyogi sighed as the voices ceased to annoy him. He doubted they’d be gone for long though.

Kyogi looked around taking in the interior of the temple. The walls were marked with strange symbols that he couldn’t decipher. A small pool seemingly lead towards a cat. Walking around the pool he approached the statue. As he approached a voice boomed startling him. Listening to the voice Kyogi turned on his heel his silver eyes peered forward to see the welcome party.

"He has taken the bait. Foolish Child."

"Foolish indeed. Let's see how long he lasts."

"None last long within these walls. He will be no different."

The boy stood before you, his appearance looking quite strange for people in this day in age. His clothing was simple as his hair stood up tall, never wavering. A small backpack rested on his back, though it was impossible to see what exactly was inside.

"You've made it this far, and to some, that is the hardest part. But now you must decide what you wish to do. For within these walls lies a great power. For choosing to come here, you are one of the few who are actually deserving. However... While several are deserving, none have passed the challenge to receive this great power. I wonder if you will fair any better."

He said as he walked directly through you. No harm would come to you, but there would likely be that uneasy feeling that anyone would feel after having something go through them. His steps would walk him across the water, though the water would never be disturbed. His path ended right before the statue on the other end where he would turn to face you once more.

"So... Will you venture deeper in search of great power?"

[Kyogi]

To Kyogi’s surprise the person who stood before him was a young boy. He had almost expected someone older to be here but kids could be rather annoying as well. He wouldn’t be surprised if it was this very kid that had done all that calling out to him until he arrived. Kyogi was sure there was much more to this boy than from just his appearance. The boy spoke of a great power within the walls of the temple. With great power came trials that apparently all had failed at. Not a good record from his stand point.

Yet the boy seemed almost mocking in his uncertainty of his own success. That was until the boy walked directly through Kyogi. A shiver ran through Kyogi as the experience happened. That shiver turned into a full body squirm when the boy had left his body. Turning around quite confused and feeling a bit unclean he heard the final question. To Kyogi it wasn’t so much of a question anymore. He wanted to be the first to bring home this power. With his own strength and the powers Araqiel had given him Kyogi was certain of his success. ”Yes, bring on the challenges. Greatness awaits.” The feelings of uneasiness began to slide off Kyogi as a smile formed on his face. Things were turning from weird to interesting and he couldn’t wait to see what challenges had been so tough for the others whoever they were.

"He agreed to the challenge? Well then..."

"I wonder if he does have what it takes."

"Don't be naive. No one ever does."

The boy smiled toward you as you agreed to take the challenge. His hand was placed upon the statue behind him as he jumped up into the air. Before he landed back down on the pedestal where the Cat statue laid, the statue itself seemed to jump off. Suddenly the boy was standing in its place, and a black cat was walking toward you.

"This will be your guide. His name is Faerno, and he will aid you in times where you need it. Keep in mind, his words will not steer you wrong. Anything he tells you is the truth, and can be accepted as the truth. But he will not always help you. If he shakes his head, there will be no line of questioning that gets him to continue speaking. You may ask whatever you'd like of him. He knows when he can help and when he can't. And... He can handle himself. You needn't worry about trying to protect him."

The explanation was long, but there was little else the boy had to say as the pedestal started to lower into the ground.

"You and I shall meet again later, should you progress properly through the temple. But seeing me does not mean the end. Trust your heart and your instincts... And you'll do fine."

And with that, the boy disappeared beneath the ground, the ground itself closing around where the pedestal lowered, and looking solid once more. Suddenly, the walls moved, revealing three doors. One to the left, one to the right, and one directly in front of you, behind where the pedestal used to be.

"The first choice is yours, boy. And if I may... May I get your name so I do not have to call you 'Boy'?"

Faerno's voice rang throughout the temple. It sounded like that of wise man, one who had seen far too many pass in this temple. The question is... Would you be one of them?

[Kyogi]

A few surprising things happened before Kyogi’s very eyes. The cat statue he’d noticed upon entering once touched suddenly had life. The two switched places and he watched as the once cat statue walked up to him. This was certainly a strange place Kyogi thought silently. Lots of useful information about the cat, Faerno was spoken; careful mental notes were taken about his new “guide”. The boy he met was rather vague near the end but before he could even ask any follow up questions he disappeared leaving him with Faerno the cat. One of the first things the cat would notice nearing him was the aura Kyogi was constantly emitting. A feeling of warmth and safeness could be felt near Kyogi.

"The first choice is yours, boy. And if I may... May I get your name so I do not have to call you 'Boy'?" Kyogi grinned as he thought about the possible choices. First he had to figure out which path he liked the most. Telling the cat his name would wait until he’d decided his path. The boy’s words rang through Kyogi’s head ”Trust your heart and your instincts.” Looking at each of the three doors he let out a sigh trying to clear the uncertainty from his mind. ”My name is Kyogi. Nice to have you along Faerno.” Reaching on top of his head Kyogi pulled down his goggles and turned them onto their thermal vision setting. ”We’re going forward, the path you were blocking feels right.”

Moving away from Faerno and towards the middle door Kyogi paused to ask a question. ”Have you been the guide for every adventurer that has come to this place? Are you allowed to tell me what caused them to fail and die here?” Any sort of advice as he headed down the middle path could help him. Kyogi was cautious as he approached the middle path. He was skilled in identifying traps and intended to search for them down the path he was walking. Even without Faerno’s information it wouldn’t surprise him if there were a few traps in a place that held a great reward.

Description: The bane of good and justice, evil; nothing can stand against it other than your will to defeat it and protect others from its debilitating effects. Your will alone gives you the ability to sense evil intentions within other people within a twenty meter radius, by focusing on their aura you can tell whether their motives are pure or corrupt. One is able to inactively notice evil from those who explicitly express it, but finding hidden motive is harder, and people of higher rank than the user can actually mask their hate to such an extent that it can’t be found (though extreme hate and violence can still be seen even within a higher ranked person as long as they aren’t hiding it.) (Obvious motives = killer intent, hate, ect. Hidden motives = tasks that involve destruction, mission involving assassination, ect.)

Those who are sick will begin to feel better and the aura can actually slightly help improve the rate at which a person recovers from a sickness or injury after prolonged exposure due to the general sense of 'good feeling' and 'I'm feeling good' that is given to the people around you.

"Now the game begins"

"Let's see how he handles it."

"Faerno will witness another death."

Kyogi's response didn't come right away. He seemed to be studying the doors before deciding to give a name. But when he finally did, Faerno nodded. He would have laughed at the phrase 'The one you were blocking' if it weren't for the fact that he heard it quite often.

"Understood. The middle path awaits you."

The two walked over to the door, Kyogi finding no traps along the way. But Faerno was smarter than he looked.

"All I can say regarding those who came before you is that they did not trust their instincts. They were overly cautious and overthought all of their decisions. Trust in yourself and you'll do fine. By the way... You needn't worry about traps. This temple does not rely on traps to hide its power."

Faerno walked up to the door and tapped on it.

"To prove this to you, I shall open all the doors, if you'd like"

With those words, the large stone door slid down into the ground. It was there that it would stay, never to close unless the temple was reset upon Kyogi's apparent death. Or at least apparent to the three watching their every move. And as Faerno said, the door presented no traps as the cat walked through it. But what it did show was what was beyond it. Kyogi wouldn't see much until he walked through the doorway. But what he could see was a large metal rod in the middle of a great room. Attached to it were blades that were swirling around the room at different intervals. And the whole thing glowed with a light blue glow. This was the first task, and already... It would seem to be difficult. If this was only the first room... Who was to say what the rest would behold.

"I will also give you this bit of information. Any unlocked doors will be unable to be opened once a path has been chosen. All paths can lead to the same area, but depending on the difficulty, might be harder to go through one than the other. For example, you can no longer go back to choose the other two doors in the entrance. But if you come across a room with locked doors, such as the one ahead, so long as you have the key for it, you can go back and open it."

Faerno explained. Probably information that he should have given before the path was chosen. But for the first room... It didn't matter which path he chose. The same room would have been shown beyond the door regardless of which path. It was simply there to give the illusion that Kyogi had a choice. The powers were working against, Kyogi. But he could succeed... If he wanted it bad enough and trusted in himself.

[Kyogi]

Kyogi listened to Faerno’s answers as he moved through the door he’d chosen. Apparently he’d assumed wrong about the temple having traps. Knowing that fact worried him a little bit. It meant that whomever watched over this place had much more in store for him than some of the traps he’d trained to detect and disarm. Kyogi followed after Faerno through the door, all the information he’d gotten so far was to simply trust. This was something Kyogi did fairly well until he was shown his trust was misplaced. He liked to believe in the good in others rather than search for the deception.

Upon entry Kyogi found himself in a large room that had one item of interest in it. A large rod spun several blades around the room. Watching the rotation he tried to understand the order but stopped himself. They seemed to be almost random and as he stood out of range he heard Faerno continue to speak. Apparently there was no wrong path in his decisions just more difficult trials. This knowledge combined with the fact that were no traps put Kyogi at a bit of ease. Nearing the range of the blades Kyogi’s hands flew through seals holding the final rabbit sign. Focusing his chakra into his hand he began to create a protective sphere not around them but in front of his path. This had the intention of seeing what happened when the blades made contact with his own defenses. Could he stop the blades with his powers? He had Araqiel to thank for this technique.

Effect: Allows you to form a sphere of chakra around yourself or around the area directly in front of you.
Special: “Handsigns” Hold the final ‘Rabbit’ handsign to hold the sphere.
Drawback: Is vulnerable to chakra destroying techniques. Requires a small amount of constant chakra to keep going. Fragile while being made.
Description: You focus your 保護の壁突起 Bouheki Debari (Protective Wall Creation) into a greater and even more impressive accomplishment, a 10’ diameter sphere made from your faith’s hardened chakra. Once the handsigns are formed the user with stretch out his hand and face the palm forward, the sphere will materialize either around the user or in the area in front of the user (starting at the user’s outstretched hand and taking one second to fully form.) Once formed the construct will last six second or you are also able to reform and hold the ‘Rabbit’ handsign in order to supply the chakra for the sphere. The sphere can roll along the ground similar to a giant hamster wheel using your chakra to do so, and can defend again one A rank worth of damage before shattering or can defend against all B ranked and lower attacks while you are holding the ‘Rabbit’ handsign.
Limit: Must be a member of Kaishaba. Must know 保護の壁突起 Bouheki Debari (Protective Wall Creation). Must also hold the ideal of Pacifism.

"He's done it."

"Just like all the rest."

"Time for another burial."

The sphere was created, pointed toward the blades. But as soon as one blade touched it, the sphere would break instantly. There was no way to save it. And out of the corner of Kyogi's eye, he would see Faerno's head shaking.

"To think that I thought you would have more promise than the others. You're bound to the same fate right when you tried that technique."

His words flowed through the room as he leapt up and landed on one of the blades. He spun around with it, but otherwise was not harmed.

"This temple is here to show you the difference between using chakra to solve your problems and learning when chakra is the best solution. You'll encounter a lot that will try to break your chakra techniques and there are only two ways to fully get through this temple. Number one: Figure a way through without chakra. Number two: Figure a way to prevent your chakra from being broken. However... In order to master the power at the end of this temple, you'll need to use both principles in order to get through."

He then leapt off the blade and let it cut his paw to show that even though he landed on it, the blades themselves are still sharp on the edges. The paw healed almost instantly, though it was impossible to show why that happened.

"Concentrate and you'll succeed. Take a good look around and notice where the blades go and where they don't. Remember what happened with your sphere. It only broke when the blade touched it. So what if something happened between the blades?"

As Kyogi would be able to look around the room much easier, he would see five doors with a keyhole symbol upon them. It didn't look as though a key would fit any of them, but perhaps there was a way to use the keys anyway? Looking around the room, 6 keys would be floating in mid air. There was no difference between the keys, and the doors all looked the same as well. But with 5 doors and 6 keys, who was to say where they went?

Two doors were to the left of Kyogi, two to his right, and one directly in front of him. The room itself was 50 meters all around, for the room was a square. 5 blades spun around in the middle of the room, never touching the walls and leaving an even bigger gap at the corners of the room. There was enough room between the blades to be crouched between them, but getting onto the chakra dispelling blades would be difficult.

The keys were at different heights throughout the room, all spaced between the blades and either the floor or the ceiling. With the spaces big enough to go between, it showed an easy way to get through if you stepped back and looked at it hard enough. But with the blades moving at random speeds, and even changing direction at times, it made it incredibly hard to predict. The room was meant to be a challenge, and if this was just the first room... What was left to come?

[Kyogi]

As the blade impacted with his sphere the entire construct broke to his surprise. He knew the technique was durable but the blades were stronger. Not only that but his guide, Faerno, seemed to be disappointed in his first attempt at the first challenge. Kyogi grinned watching the cat spin around the room on one of the blades it was an amusing sight to see. Learning the secrets of the blades gave Kyogi a new perspective. Anything he could create from chakra needed to not touch the blades. However he couldn’t simply ride around on the blades either the cat had been cut from sitting upon them.

Taking a step towards the blades Kyogi watched as they flew past his face as he was just outside their range. He stopped here to watch their rotation to figure out the best way to get the keys. Looking around he counted the various doors and the keys that would match them. Finishing his math the numbers didn’t match. Why were there more keys than doors Kyogi wondered. Were the keys universal or did each one have its own specific door?

Kyogi couldn’t sit idly anymore he’d have to find out through experience. As the next blade passed by his face Kyogi went into motion. Quickly moving to the right Kyogi pushed chakra into his feet to allow him to climb up the wall and end up on the ceiling of the room. Kyogi knew that the blades broke chakra so if they didn’t hit him his chakra wouldn’t be broken. Adopting a crouching position Kyogi slowly moved along the ceiling towards the middle door. Kyogi had spotted a key floating above the path of one of the blades; this would be his target.

Kyogi would stop in his crouched stance before reaching the middle door. He stopped above the key closest to the middle door. From here it would be a straight drop down to grab the key. The only problem was the spinning blades of death. Watching the pattern of the blades Kyogi pushed himself from the ceiling propelling his body towards the key. Grabbing it mid air he hoped his timing was correct to land him on the ground unharmed. Upon his landing he knew he had to move out of harms way there would likely be blades headed towards him. Here he'd utilize a bit of chakra to shunshin himself forward towards the middle door and away from the blades. If his arrival was successful he'd try to fit the key into the door to open it.

Shunshin no Jutsu - Oshi (Body Flicker Technique - Push) [Learned 3 Times][30]

Effect: A Jutsu that allows a user to rush forward in almost instantaneous speed. Used to draw the user close to the opponent.

Drawback: May use 3 times a day. May perform 1 more each time learned. Passing amount renders the user's legs immobile due to severe pain. Unable to perform again unless gained medical treatment. Must move through an opening. Unable to maneuver around obstructing objects. Can't attack while performing any Shunshin or Variation.
Description: User is able to move forward in a straight line along the ground in almost instantaneous untraceable speed while temporarily masking the user's movements within 10 meters. A puff of smoke is occasionally used to disguise the user's movements. It is accomplished by focusing the user's chi along the ankles and foot. User mostly moves just with their ankles and feet. Jutsu takes up no movements. User may only use this Jutsu half of the movements may allow in a single round while rounding down. Example: User has 5 movements, user is able to perform Jutsu 2 times per round.
Limit: Universal NinJutsu or Universal TaiJutsu.

"Huh..."

"He got one."

"It matters not."

So Kyogi managed to get a key, a feat that surprised Faerno. He stared upon the shinobi as he dropped from the ceiling, collected the key, and launched forward to the other side of the room. The small cat simply walked beneath the blades, standing beside him.

"Congratulations, you've done it. Not many even make it past this part. But the trials are even more difficult ahead. With that key, you may enter any door with a keyhole on it. The key will disappear after it is used."

But it appeared as though Kyogi was intent on using it on that middle door. For as soon as the key touched the door, the door and the key seemed to dissolve, opening the way to the next room.

Beyond the doorway, snarls of hungry and crazed animals could be heard. But the room itself was dark, save for the occasional glowing eye that would appear as the light from the room he was in reflected in their eyes. It was impossible to tell from the doorway just how many different animals there were or if they were in cages or not.

"One word of advice... One thing cannot pass from one room to the next except for keys. You are safe in here from the animals ahead, and may choose a different path upon retrieving another key without worrying about them charging in here after you. Otherwise, venture forth, and see what awaits you."

The cat explained, hoping that his words were enough for him. He was not here to give all of the answers. It was up to Kyogi to find them.

[Kyogi]

His attempt was a success as he arrived in front of the door with key in hand. Faerno quickly caught up with him with further explanations. Kyogi nodded listening to the message about the keys but he planned to go forward from here. Kyogi remembered from before that all paths lead to the same destination. Some could be more difficult than others but he had no map of each room’s difficulty. His path lead him to the middle room and he would continue forward into the room.

The sounds of the animals made Kyogi a bit tense but it also told him what he was up against. Pulling his goggles over his eyes as he stepped a bit further into the room he activated their thermal vision. Kyogi was looking to see just how many animals he might be up against in this room. Would they have the same ability to destroy chakra he wondered? ”Let’s keep moring Faerno, hope the noises don’t scare you.” Kyogi thought about preparing some chakra as he lifted his hands up similar to the way a boxer might protect his face. He glanced in Faerno’s direction, ”Will the animals in this room be able to break my chakra just like the blades of the last?” Kyogi had an wide assortment of defensive and offensive techniques but this chakra restriction was quite the hindrance. Kyogi decided to show Faerno what he had in mind. Gathering his chakra Kyogi’s right hand began to become envolped in blue chakra. It extended further than his hand to a total of 3 feet long looking similar to a long sword. Kyogi did have his other fighting style in mind if it came to that. Yet perhaps it was possible that his aura could simply calm the animals of the room. Kyogi waited to hear the answer as he slowly began his way towards the animals growling.

"Can he not think for himself?"

"It appears not."

"I'm ready for the next."

Faerno shook his head slightly. It was clear he wasn't there to reveal everything to him.

"If I told you that, there would be no trial to any of this. But believe me when I say... You do not need to worry about me. I can handle myself."

Just then, the sound of metal sliding on metal could be heard, the snarling increasing as three wolves started to charge toward Kyogi.

"I suggest you think fast. I hear they don't feed these animals often."

He added on, jumping out of the way and wondering if Kyogi would pick up on the secret here. Not every room was the same. But did these animals deserve to be harmed simply for being hungry? It was hard to say what he would do, but Faerno watched from a tall cage.

The room itself did not reveal much. Three doors once more blocked the way forward, these ones not marked with a key. He would need to find the secret to the room in order to get through. And then he'd have a choice of which door to enter. As for the animals themselves, there was the three wolves of average size. There was also a bear, three bats, two eagles, one bull, and three lions within the area. Various different colored vats could be seen all around with an undetermined substance in each. There were 6 in total. Teal, Yellow, Blue, Green, Red, and Black.

"A hint: Going through the right door here could lead to a quick and fulfilling end."

It was cryptic, like what most of what he heard here, but there was something to go by at least. However, it was unlikely that Kyogi would be able to hear too much about it due to the three animals charging right at him. If the animals did not get attacked or stopped prior to the end of Faerno's last statement, they would be in the air, almost on top of Kyogi and posing to strike. It appeared as though his aura did nothing to them. For they weren't attacking just because they could. They were attacking out of hunger.

[Kyogi]

He was asking too many questions and not doing enough problem solving apparently. Kyogi’s eyes were brought to the sounds of the snarling as he saw the wolves charge at him. He frowned as Faerno jumped away. The chakra scalpel [sword] he’d created dispersed into nothing as he spread his legs gathering chakra into his right index finger. In one fluid motion he leaned forward slamming his index finger to the ground. The effect would cause a five foot wide, twelve foot long fissure through the temple. It would likely hit the three charging wolves disrupting their balance giving Kyogi the time to move.

With swift movements Kyogi ran in a circle towards the left side of the room while keeping his distance from the wolves. His eyes were observing the room, the animals within as well as a variety of colored vats. Stopping at the left side door he looked at it up and down to see if there was any indicator of color needed for the vats which he was assuming worked as keys. Kyogi was unsure of the other animals in the room were just as hungry as the wolves but he quickly ran towards the blue vat. Whether these were vats for opening doors or dealing with the animals of the room he liked the color blue. It reminded him of the sky on a calm day and perhaps whatever was within would have calming properties.

With all the commotion he hadn’t heard Faerno’s hint because he’d already been in motion. If Kyogi was successful in grabbing the blue vat he’d run it over towards the middle door to inspect it as well. The first thing he’d try was simply placing the blue vat at the front of the door. He couldn’t tell what was inside of the vats but also couldn’t afford to waste it if it was needed. Being hasty with so few things known could end up with Kyogi trapped in the temple.

Effect: Gathering a good amount of Chakra into either index finger, the Medical-Nin is able to slam their finger into the earth below them and create a five foot wide, twelve foot long and ten feet deep fissure. This is used to disrupt attacks that come at the Medic from head on. It could also be used as cover when there is no other way to evade.

Description: Standing with the legs shoulder length apart, the Medic briefly gathers chakra into their index finger before leaning forward and slamming their finger into the ground causing a fissure to occur.
