Still side by side both dhows entered an area of the sea that was quite wild. Rapid currents jutted the boats in all directions and they skilfully navigated around the whirlpools which were a defining trait of this area. Slowly a dark outline came in sight beyond the salty spray of the sea. As you neared it the outline slowly became a castle. Since the dhows were sailing north you were approaching the slate grey stone construction from the south. Four towers jutted up towards the sky and you could see the spears of guards move back and forth on top of the walls. It was nothing but a bare island, surrounded on all sides by water on which the fortress had been built, with the waves directly crashing against the walls. In the centre of the side you neared there was a gatehouse, but the docks at its base were destroyed. Instead the south west and south east tower both had a ladder hanging from the wall which you could climb all the way up to a window at the top of the tower. For the first time the two dhows diverted course. Team One would sail for the south west tower and dock below the ladder there, Team Two would do the same thing but then at the south east tower. Without saying so much as a single word the captain of your dhow would signal you to climb the ladder.
When you entered the tower room assigned to you by means of the ladder it would be removed, making it impossible for you to leave, lest you decided to throw yourself out of the window and onto the foamy waves and jet black rocks ten meters below. The tower room was simple, it was circular, ten meters in diameter with a rough plank floor that had seen quite some use in its day and the entire thing was unfurnished. There were two reinforced wooden doors that would allow you access to the walls as indicated by a sign above these doors. A man sized trapdoor was located in the corner the furthest away from the castle interior, with a sign on it that revealed that it was the entrance to the prison. If you were to drop a ball on the floor here it would inevitably roll towards the centre of the room. This was not because the floor was of poor craftsmanship, rather, the carpenter who had installed these planks he must have done a splendid job considering that it was all still in one piece. No, the force that would control your metaphorical force was gravity. Like the heavy weight of a deceased star in space could bend time and space in such a manner that it would draw in the very light through gravity your imaginary ball would be drawn by gravity to the extremely heavy weight. This was not a deceased star however, though some scales might have trouble making the distinction. In the centre of the room sat the largest, most putrid and morbidly obese being you had ever witnessed, every breath of this creature setting endless movements of fat into motion. It was however not your momma, but a princess apparently, judging from the crown on her head and the impeccable state of her clothes. Team One in the south west tower would be staring at a blonde woman clad in pink, whereas Team Two in the South East tower would be looking at a brunette whose blue dress looked as if it was about to snap.
Over a PA in the room, installed in the roof of the room the voice of the examiner would ring. "Welcome to the first, final and only challenge of these Chuunin Exams dear contestants! As you can see your assigned tower contains a whaaaaale of a problem. One very hungry lady. Although there are many rules to this game, this is the essence, once I give the signal to start the clock begins to tick and both teams are to go out into the castle and collect food which can be found anywhere. Collect it, cherish it, nurture the food and then bring it back and cram it all into your princesses mouth. I know that it might sound impossible, but both teams start with a princess of a similar.... Size. However, the team of which the princess has fattened up the most when the time is up and the exams end, wins and earns the right to become Chuunin. On the wall between the two doors there is a sign detailing the exact rules. I highly suggest you familiarize yourself with them before we start unless you want to be constantly sent to the prison for rule breaking. Also remember! If you feel like you are taking too much of a beating, start to feel insecure about it and want a little time out then the safeword is 'teacup'! Remember that people! 'Teacup'! now, please stand by for the start signal..." and with that the PA would fade out.
A swift inspection of the wall would indeed cause you to find the sign the man mentioned on a nice white tile with blue calligraphy on it, usually the kind of tiles that contained grandma's wisdom and were found in bathrooms and toilet stalls. These seemed to be those mysterious rules:Them Rules:
- The team with the fattest princess (most points of food fed when the Chuunin Exams end) wins and earn the right to become Chuunin.
- In case of a tie the team that has performed the best wins. Not feeding your princess anything before the end of the CE's means automatic failure.
- Each raw ingredient requires 1 slot of inventory space to carry around. Or 1 hand if no space is available.
- Everything will be at the same level, except for the prison which is below the team's respective towers.
- NPC's in the castle will turn a blind eye to PC's fighting, they are not being paid enough for that kind of shit.
- If you feel like you are going to lose to an opponent the safeword is 'Teacup' to get transported to prison, it is quick but not instant.
- When teleported to prison your equipment and clothes are teleported as well, event food items are dropped for other players to loot.
- Escape from prison equals joining the fray again.
- Your own tower is a safe house; Other team cannot enter and is not allowed to attack you there.
- No venturing beyond walls, walls end at sea, whirlpools, and storms, make travel there nigh impossible. Straying too far from the castle results in being teleported to prison.
Below it hung a map of the castle, at least you would not be sailing blind here. A small glass window which looked pretty indestructible would allow a view of the castle. It was a square thing with high walls and four towers. Team one would be in the south west tower and team two in the south east tower according to the description. From the walls it was a mere four meters down to the courtyard which could be accessed from many stairs located almost everywhere. This courtyard was about one hundred fifty meters wide west to east and a hundred meters long from north to south. The west wall harboured a granary building on the south side and a barracks on the north side. The north was was occupied by the kitchen on the west side and a great hall on the east side. The east wall contained a chapel on the north side and stables on the south side. It seemed as if all buildings along the wall were accessible from both the courtyard and the walls. Next to this the map revealed that all buildings were accessible from a neighbouring building. Finally, between the south west tower and the south east tower was the gatehouse. From now on you would only have to wait until the chuunin examiner would deem you ready to start, the doors of the towers were still locked, preventing anyone from starting prematurely so there was nothing to do but wait until everyone had entered properly.
