Having left the tower Wraith was making his way home, he was positive that the Valkyria family library had some information on learning this language. Upon entering into the library Wraith made a bee line towards the language scrolls withdrawing a rather old scroll. It was marked as draconian and it gave help with basic translations.
Pulling out his own paper and pen he began to take notes and mimic the text. It was a bit similar yet primitive to classic common tongue at times as the letter I was shaped ł instead. The alphabet was generally quite easy to grasp. ą was a, ə meant E, ¥ was y and ø was o. Not major changes to many letters though with a bit of guess work he figured out that both D and b used near identical characters 'đ' the only difference was the line went more to the right for the letter b.
With each letter he began to write it out in both capitals and lower case at least 20 times each so that his hand would start to get used to the odd changes in lettering. Carrying on from the alphabet he would look at the next part of the scroll which contained lettering, it was odd... The letters weren't really in word order more... alphabetical with the word 'the' technically spelt as 'eht' or the world book 'bkoo'. He wasn't sure if this applied with all words but in the very least it appeared he was going to have to decipher as well as translate draconian simultaneously.
As he was writing up the basics of the letters and a simple word or two the librarian hired made his approach. "If you like you can have a disc I made to help you speak the language instead of just write it. This includes how to pronounce the letters" Wraith nodded politely and was presented with the disk and his cs player and head phones. After the introduction it began with the alphabet.
The letter A was pronounced more like 'ach' and B as 'bss', C as 'Ch'. With each letter he began to sound out a few times over occasionally glancing towards the librarian who would either nod or shake his head miming with his hands if he needed to be rougher with his voice or change pitch accordingly. Then once the letter was down the librarian nodded again and he would make his way to the next letter.
Once he finally had the alphabet down he gave a gulp... It was time to try his first word. Going with something simple he decided to use theword 'The' again as it was the first word he learned to write out. With the CD telling him how to pronounce it WWraith began the almost cackling growl of the voice to attempt to pronounce the word before turning to the librarian who motioned for him to say it a bit faster... although the tongue was spoken slowly it wasn't as slow as he was doing it... oh well at least he pronounced it right generally.
