The Liar's Den
Wretched Hive of Scum and Villainy
Wretched Hive of Scum and Villainy
The Liar's den was not an inconspicuous place to hide out; nor was it a particularly inviting place, especially after the ANBU had gotten their hands on the place. The place had never been too organized, but everything that had been associated with the inhabitants had been taken away, and the people that had been there while the owners had been arrested, had scarpered; never to see the inner walls of the base again. The sole owner and visitor of the building now would be the newly indoctrinated shinobi of the village, Diomed Rakhsha. Although the place seemed abandoned, after returning from his capture and the execution of the only man he had ever trusted; he had restored the place to at least a shadow of its former glory, but so much yet remained and needed replacing; and it would happen slowly. There was some equipment left over; which he had been thankful for; as it had cost quite a lot of money, so having something left with him was a relief.
The door to the building was not hidden so much as hard to find, and it required a very specific knowledge of the building to discover the well crafted door. The door was perfectly crafted with the wall, and the seam was practically invisible, and even Diomed on his drunkest nights; had been unable to find his way in. Once one found the door and entered; the den was larger than expected. To the left, light poured in through the smoke stained glass, segmented by the bars that protected the windows from being entered. The windows opened, but they had been set for so long that if a person tried to open the window they would more than likely just break the latch that held it closed. On the opposing wall from the entrance was the work desk that had once been filled with gadgets and notes and usually stacks of cash, all of which had been raided and removed. Now the large computer screen was all that remained of the complex surveillance system they had set up to protect themselves. The computer screen and the multiple screens set upon one another still allowed him to work on small things though, his technical work could be restarted.
Not visible from the entrance of the room and to the right of the computers were the rooms. The main room that was straight ahead when one turned the corner had a large desk and the large black leather chair that Diomed favoured, all of which was relatively unharmed. The drugs and the money that had been in the desk had been confiscated, but he expected no different. The room to the left was his own room, and the mattress that had once sat on the floor of the room had been sliced up and moved against the wall in their hunt, meaning he would need to acquire a new bed. The clothes that were in his closet had been shuffled through, but none were damaged, if a little ruffled. The final room opposite of his had been completely emptied, as though the ANBU had known that they were going to murder Noah all along. The unsettling and cold feeling he felt when he entered the room quickly caused the room to have the door shut and left empty as a reminder of what he had lost in his overzealousness.
Wiring hung from the ceiling all around as the incomplete décor revealed the inner workings of the walls that had been torn apart, leaving cables and lengths of piping visible. They had been thorough in their work, and it had actually left the place with a more advanced vibe that Diomed enjoyed and was probably going to leave. It had everything he required, it was private, possessed some of his tools for work, and was otherwise all his own. Even though there was bad blood in the place; he was selfish enough to be fine with it.
