Character Depth
A normally quiet and sullen appearing individual, Akihiko has seen much and told little. He usually keeps to himself, but has been known to speak out in a crowd when he deems it necessary, and finds it difficult to make many friends. On the inside, however, Akihiko is quite capable of normal human emotion, though he is quite calm and intelligent, and loyal to his Village for saving his life. When he was younger, his family was slaughtered before his eyes and he was taken captive, scarring him for life. This event also helped him realize a terrible pleasure: killing.
For two years, Akihiko was experimented on, tortured, and trained to fight, kill, and hunt down others. To his disbelief, he enjoyed the blood. Not simply for killing's sake, but because he felt that with killing, he would be able to break his bonds. One day, he prayed, he'd end the life of his captors, and perhaps his own, but not before justice was served. This keen desire became his only flicker of hope in his now cruel existence. When he gained his freedom, he escaped to the Village Hidden in the Mist with the assistance of the Mist ninja who rescued him. The young man was grateful to the ninja, and pledged his life to the Village and to uphold it's laws- laws that were broken by his uncle and brother.
Four years later, Akihiko remains loyal to the Mist, and due to his shattered upbringing, he continues to enjoy the taking of life- but now it's for his Village and it's inhabitants, to uphold the laws and safeguard the people, even if it means committing evil to do so. While he understands the difference between good and evil, he often remains in the grey between the two. He's no saint, for he has killed for his own personal code, which dictate the destruction of criminals such as petty murderers, rapists, and other law breakers such as these. Akihiko has committed himself to growing strong for his Village, even if it means retracing the steps of his past.
Akihiko has an oval-shaped, clean shaven face with bright blue eyes, long dark eyelashes, a slightly angular jaw, with bluish-black tousled hair. He has almost feminine facial features, making him seem a few years younger than his actual age, a long thin scar along his left jawline, as well as numerous other scars, mostly hidden from view save for the ones on his hands and a few on his neck. He has a small nose, a pale complexion, lips that are between full and thin, with a default expression that appears to be sullen. His fingers are long, but he possesses a strong grip, and on the back of his right hand is a brand- his clan's symbol, a snow topped mountain with an obscured wolf visage in the center- which was put there by his uncle.
Akihiko has a lean body, but hard with muscle and dotted with scars from his time among his uncle and brother, appearing thin and slightly feminine. There has been one occasion someone mistook him for a woman, in which he became quite angry and embarrassed. Though he may seem weak, he is surprisingly strong for his size, but not unnaturally so. On off days, he wears black pants, open-toed sandals many ninja wear, and kimono styled white top with a deep blue sash, which is decorated with roaring waves. On his left ear is one piercing, a simple silver ring along the top, which he never seems to take out.
On missions, he wears a grey set of robes with a blue sash, classic ninja footwear, and a katana strapped to his back. The katana had a black sheathe and strapped to his back by kevlar secured with iron clips. To anyone who lays eyes on the silver blade, it is well kept, polished and sharpened with great care, with a golden guard inlaid with the symbols that spell out, "lasting death", and a black hilt. This blade was the most prized possession of his mother, but she left it with her sister when they left. It was given to him upon his return, and he has never let it out of his sight since.
Akihiko grew up in the Land of Water as the child of a shopkeeper and a kunoichi. His father was a proud merchant, the owner of a book store in the Hidden Mist Village. His store encompassed everything from spicy romance novels to minor jutsu scrolls. His mother was a Hidden Mist Anbu, an expert in tracking and ninjutsu. Akhiko was the youngest of three, his oldest sibling was his brother, Ichirou, and the middle child was his sister, Emiko. For ten years, he was happy with his life.
Ichirou became a joniin when he was a man of eighteen. When he gained this new rank, he began to take missions that frequently took him out of the village for weeks at a time. When Ichirou was twenty-two, and Akihiko was ten, the family decided to take a trip to the Land of Fire, where Akhiko's father was from, to visit family there while Ichirou was gone for a month long mission. Before they could even leave the country, they were attacked by mercenary shinobi. Akihiko's father was killed quickly, while his mother fought bravely, but was eventually cut down due to being outnumbered four to one. Emiko and Akihiko attempted to escape during the fray, but once their mother was finished, they were quickly captured.
"What should we do with the girl?" One of the shinobi asked. "Our orders were to only bring back the boy alive." bound and gagged, his sister and he, they were powerless. For ten minutes, they discussed his sister's fate as she remained in shock, oblivious to the world. Akihiko panicked, tried to snap her out of it, but she had given up hope. Finally, a decision had been made. They were going to kill her, slit her throat... but not before some fun. Akihiko had watch, helplessly, as they raped his seventeen year old sister before they slit her throat. He watched as she was violated and the life left her eyes, the moonlight reflecting off her flowing blood as she struggled for breath before she went still and pale.
The savages were pleased with themselves, and laughed about his expression, before one of them kicked him in the head, effectively knocking him out. When he awoke, he was in a strange room. It was dark, windowless, with only a couple of lit candles for light and a stone slab in the center, which he was strapped to by his wrists and ankles. There was someone in the room with him. When they walked closer, their face became illuminated. It was his brother, Ichirou, and he was smiling. Akihiko's body went cold, for that smile was unlike anything he'd seen his brother wear. It was cold, amused, and frightening.
When the door opened, the creaking and slowness of it made Akihiko pray he was in a nightmare. Sadly, this was reality. A man, middle-aged, walked in, but his expression was serious- calculationg. He introduced himself as Hiro Yukimura, Akihiko's uncle, his father's brother. Akihiko was in shock, disbelief, and when he finally spoke, he asked, "Why?" Hiro and his nephew, Ichirou, both answered, "Power." Family legend holds that their heritage once held a kekkai genkai of great power, but for generations, it has not surfaced. They had reason to believe that Akihiko might hold the gene, for he was naturally gifted with a small amount of chakra control- more than his brother had at his age.
For two years, Akihiko was tortured, experimented on, and broken. After months of the endless pain, he lost hope and became their puppet. They trained him, hoping to reveal his power that way, but nothing ever surfaced but a strange, and frightening pleasure of Akihiko's- killing. The young man had taken a grim satisfaction to the taking of life, no matter the form, and began to slowly lose his humanity. One day, he had killed a man while he tended to his farm, while his brother watched him. Mist ninja had been sent to investigate, and tracked them back to their uncle's hideout, on the northern edge of the country in the wilderness. Ichirou had become sloppy with Akihiko's killing, and they paid the price. When the ninja stormed the underground compound, they had tried to escape with Akihiko. When Ichirou and Hiro went to retrieve him, they had to split up, leaving Ichirou to hold off the ninja long enough for Hiro to make their escape.
Akihiko heard the sounds of combat, and when he inquired, his uncle told him the situation. This brought some life back into Akhiko's eyes, and the moment his uncle turned his back, fate was sealed. Akihiko plunged a kunai into his uncle's aorta and watched as he bled out, laughing all the while. By the time the ninja found them, Hiro was dead, and Akihiko was curled against the wall, crying with his face hidden from view, his brand plain in the candlelight. Ichirou had escaped, barely, and though they attempted to track him down, the trail went cold. His current whereabouts are unknown.
Four years later, Akihiko recieved more formal training and now currently resides in the Mist Village. He is grateful for his rescue, and has devoted his life to the Village. Upon his return, his family had contacted him- from both his mother's side and his father's side. He cut ties with his father's family, but remains in contact with his mother's side- though he is by no means close.

Character Depth
- Personality:
- Appearance:
