The desert wind was blowing harshly down the great ravine as a small figure made her way through the darkness. Clad in a cloak that blew back behind her, the Kazekage emerged from the village. Visibility was low, as sand kicked up into the air. A hectic chaos that defined the environment that was Kaze no Kuni. Under her claim she wore a dark jacket with a good, had a pouch secured across her side, resting on her hip, a pistol holstered on her right leg, assorted gear and a BDU outfit underneath. She looked like an older woman than what she remembered from all those years ago. The adventures and fun times had become much duller, and the world more bleak. Her exit held a purpose however. With a knife hidden on her back along her belt, she prepared herself for the long journey ahead to the land of fire.
She had a meeting to attend, and with no light hearted subject matter. Her village had recently come into Possession of a shinobi previously of the cloud...something that could and probably would create some static tension. She was hopeful that things wouldn't go south, but she wasn't positive that a relationship could be salvaged. Regardless she was not going to let her or her village be stepped on by another Kage, and she stood by this idea firmly. She had a more formal outfit packed with her for the trip, but as it looked now it was going to be a long walk.
Reporting to the guards briefly, she let them know that she was on her way out. She traveled a lot more than most Kage, yet she felt a sense of domestic tranquility. As she left the canyon she let the desert engulf her, disappearing out into the wastes.
Titania hurried the white-haired person through to the exit and beyond as quickly as possible. She needed to get him away from prying eyes and ears before addressing the most crucial thing. And besides, they had hunting to do, according to the mission packet.
Masar had managed to wrench himself free of the determined woman by the time they had reached the gates, but she still herded him along like he was some sort of academy student on a field trip. He resolved to ask many questions when they finally got out of earshot of others.
Together with Masar, Titania returned to the village with the moon high in the sky. It had taken most of the day to get to their hunting ground and back, but the execution of the mission itself had taken little time.
All that remained was to drop off their bounty with a butcher and report to the Tower.
"I'll leave confirmation of the hunt to you, Masar. I have some business to attend to before we leave for...that sensitive task from Commander Senri."
Titania was back at the Gates, heading for the Desert of Wind. From the Universal Shop, her delivery had arrived ahead of her. These surveillance and defense items would be used soon, in the Tea Country.
Screams flooded a scorching chasm of sand and rock and echoed up into the sky. A boy lied curled in immense pain while blood pooled in his hands and soaked the golden grains a rich and deep red. His hands were trying in vain to hold onto what was once a horn, but now a broken stub that bled profusely, soaking deep into his gloves, jacket and shirt. All three were once quite nice with patterns of eye catching gold on white and light blue bases that evoked images of winter mornings, but were now a soaked mess of sticky sanguine.
The boy's cries were unintelligible for the most part, but it sounded as though he was screaming for his mother, bouncing between three different languages with each terrified wail. His dark brown eyes were bloodshot and streaming tears onto his pale face. His hair was a matted mess from rolling on the ground in agony, the wild black mess was bound up with sand and blood in a sickeningly macabre mud that clung to his cheeks. All around him were half buried Arrows, 30 in total, that had been strew about in whatever incident had brought him suddenly here. A composite bow of modest design lay among the arrows as well.
He slowly tried to calm himself and roll flat on his back in the middle of the blisteringly hot clearing. Elric coughed and gasped in a vain attempt to catch his breath and regain his senses. Lights danced in his eyes and a ringing shot through his brain, both caused by the force of the sudden impact with the ground and with the breaking of his horn. He felt as if he had fallen over three stories in height without a place to actually fall from as far as his dazed mind could gather from finally observing his surroundings with more focus. He saw that he was in the middle of some sort of gigantic gash in the earth, and one that had been well traveled; their were clearly two directions and not simply chaos to the hoof tracks that he found himself upon, as well as carriage wheel imprints all leading to and from each end of the path. He was mostly protected by the direct rays of the sun in the darkness of the stone walls, but the burning summer heat hit him in waves he could barely handle.
With a struggle, he wrestled off his jacket. Elric stayed quietly curled on the ground for a long moment, struggling to put together what had just happened to him, but he found the memories difficult to place. His right hand left his stump of a horn for a moment and came down to face-level. It was as black as night and scaled like a lizards hide. It had no fingernail definition, and instead each tip ended in a small but sharp point. It had no fingerprints or prints or wrinkles of any kind beyond it's scale like exterior, making it look more like a thing shaped like an arm than a true arm. He had hoped getting this was a dream. That the monster that had come to his house just moments later was a nightmare, but if this arm was here, then that was real.
"Mom..." He whispered, "I'm so sorry..."

The sweltering summer sun in the land of wind was almost inhospitable. The only forward scouts that could exist comfortably were the beings of the shinobi force actually made of pure rock. They existed without the need of natural water and it was this team of scouts who identified the wanderer who was getting within a mile of the village gates. Normally the team would move to intercept the boy themselves. But there were certain abnormalities. The boy seemed wounded, his features warped and monstrous. The captain of the team was still a relatively new chuunin. He got on the radio and phoned in for help from higher command as to how to proceed.
The kage tower
The phone radio went off in the room next over to me. Commands were being phoned in towards some of the anbu who were tasked with village security. It was a slow day. My ears perked up as I heard the words chirp in. I sighed as found myself already dismissing the threat. Another wanderer getting close to the village, it happened more than the people themselves realized. But when the guardians of the perimeter started to mention some of the features I found myself growing more curious. If this person wasn't human, than sending in the newer recruits on guard duty could mean injury or death. I stood up from my desk, my white cloak of protection furling around me as I moved reaching just above the ground. The sigil of my clan and the house of Senri on the back of it. Forgoing the rest of my gear I reached over and grabbed my sword Hokaku Gāru and would disappear as I activated my hirashin tag.
The gate
Finding myself once again at the gate of Sunagakure my eyes quickly adapted to the heat and sun. I grabbed my wide brimmed hat sitting at my waste and threw it over my head. The hat had white silk sunshades that came down from the sides protecting my pale neck and ears from the sun. While I had no real fear of sunburn it was still more comfortable to stay cool. Even under my cloak and hat the appearance of my kyoudo bloodlimit would be visable. Red lines running down my face and my bright sapphire eyes clashed against the snow white hair and skin. I appeared and took notice of the guards who jumped at my sudden appearance. I didn't want to waste my words. I took my sword and slung it over my shoulder, the massive fullblade's weight resting on my shoulders as I started walking towards the trespasser. I would walk till I was within 15 meters of him scrutinizing his appearance. I'd give a sharp whistle to get his attention. "Oy. You got a name?" I'd call out gruffly.

Elric forced himself up to a sitting position and tried to rub some of the quickly drying mud from his face. He blinked furiously to refocus his vision and find the source of the piercing whistle. It echoed both in the canon and his brain, and made pinpointing the figure in the center of the road a luckily easy task. Elric lifted his left hand into the air and gave a slight wave to the person who had come across him in this desolate stretch.
"So this is a road, thank Araqiel," He thought to himself. Relief washed over his body as he put his hand down and called back.
"Elric! Elric Wulfchild!" The young man looked down at his filthy self and gave himself a quick check for injuries. As far as he could tell, he had a minor sprain in his right ankle, a broken horn from the fall, and a cracked rib from his mother's push that was making it harder than it would have already been to breath in the heat. "I'm injured!" he added after his once-over, "And...lost, I guess." and in truth if this person never showed up here, he would have died crying and alone in this random stretch of godforsaken desert.
'I guess that could still happen.' he thought with a delirious chuckle. "Where the hell am I!?"
"You are in the Land of wind. Near an ongoing military operation being conducted by a large number of ninja from the village of Sunagakure. I am the commander of such operation." I said flatly. It was about as truthful as I could be without telling him he was near the village. I examined the boy and after a few seconds could tell his bloodlimit. (clanlore 50). I watched him closely. I knew the strength that these bloodlimits could possess when harnessed. The male was a juvenile, perhaps he had not learned to master his powers yet. Then again... so was I and my mastery of lightning was enough to level small towns.
A frown appeared on my face as I was now had a difficult decision to make. I decided to take the bait. "I can heal you and send you on your way. But before I do I must know how you came to be here and if you will cause me or my people harm or trouble. I need to know if the people who hurt you will come after us for helping you." My eyes watched the young one watching for any sort of telling lie or mistruth. (sense motive 380)

"Wind? But that miles from here..." His head spun and he felt an intense feeling of vertigo wash over him and turn his stomach. Suddenly, the last moments before he awoke in the sand howling in pain fully rushed into his mind. He remembered the panic in his mother's eyes as an intruder entered their home. He remembered her giving him his bow and quiver, and the smell of rot flooding the quiet backroom workshop. He remembered the silhouette of a man draped in a cloak stitched together from black, rotting wings in the doorway, and the feel of his mother's hand stronger than it had ever been before shoving him through a shimmering gateway. His left hand went down to rest upon his chest, right on top of where she had last touched him. 'I don't know if they'll take you in, but even not, it will be away from here.' she had said those words to him, just before the push, in a frenzy brought on by whoever had been after them.
"There," he corrected himself after a moment of gathering his bearings. He brought himself back to the present as began to fully understand the weight of the scenario he had been put into. Elric couldn't help but be afraid; his heart raced so quickly it threatened to restart the torrent of blood that had only just stopped pouring from his broken horn. He tried to speak calmly and clearly to the Ninja before him, showing as much respect as he possibly could. "I'm from Yozamu in Yuki no Kuni! My mother and I were attacked in our home and she sent me through a portal to be safe!" Elric even took the effort to move to a bowing position while on his knees, his head low to the ground and both hands pressed against the sand. "I had no idea where I was going, or that I would be intruding on any official business, sir! And I-" he paused for a moment to bring his head up and look around him. His mother, unbeknounced to him, had actually sent him through a teleportation circle in the sand almost directly beneath where Elric was kneeling. She had pushed him with enough force from her end to send him both through the thick layer of finely ground stone that had shifted onto the gate, and skyward when he came out of the other side. He didn't know if the person would, or could follow him there, but since he wasn't there already, Elric could only assume his mother had destroyed the other side of the circle.
"And I know they can't follow me here. They'd have to go through the same circle I did to get here, and there's no way they're getting through my mom." He tried to say it confidently, but his uncertainty slipped through on his words. He felt the truth of it in his heart; he wanted to believe that everything was fine, but she had been more scared than he had seen anyone, and he had never seen her even the least bit worried about anything. Then suddenly, he was alone. She was gone and he was alone and being brave in this moment was all he could try to do.
I raised my arm at the young one. He was clearly having trouble with this. I held out my hand and held the dragon seal. As I did I would pop my sun's renewal seal and use the power of stored sunlight inside of me to replenish the boys body and chakra. His wounds would mend magically and his energies would be restored. I raised my hand upwards again this time relying on the power of the sleeve of the tempest. "Pacify" I said softly. The trigger word to my enchanted gear would cause a massive wave of a calming nature to anyone around me. The effects of the armor were potent. (Will save of 35 or you will calmed, you may also just accept the condition.)
Regardless of whether it worked or not, I would begin to speak. "I can fix your body, but i'm not sure about your mind. I can take you somewhere safe so we can make sure you are okay. But the place I would take you is a secret, if we go there I must have your word that you will behave yourself and follow my instructions." This one was more than free to go, but he seemed a little unhinged. The calming effect would hopefully let him make a clear decision.
[Sorry, I dropped and broke my laptop and had to wait to get it fixed x.x]
Elric was taken by surprise by the sudden rush of energy that coursed through his veins. It came immediately after the stranger's motion, so he could only assume it came from this person. His aches, pains, even the pressure on his chest was gone. Suddenly he felt alive again; unclean, but alive. His horn, however, did not heal like the rest of him, and was still clearly raw and exposed. Elric's attention had just begun to move to the horn, but like a cool summer breeze an air of calm washed over him and took with it his lingering worries.
In a transfixed stupor, he listened intently to the one who spoke. He nodded in gentle compliance with him and accepted his aid. "I'll...I won't cause any trouble." The weight of the calming effect, whatever it was, combined with his initially unstable mind and his both new, and now shattered, horn had clearly left him as calm as anyone could hope to be; the boy fell face first into the sand, unconscious.
I tentatively placed a hand on the boy and began to pull some of the chakra flowing through him. I needed to make sure there was nothing dormant or dangerous inside of his frame. One I had retracted the chakra from his body (3 S ranks worth) I took solace in the idea that even if he did start to attack people I would have reduced his combat prowess for the day. We would vanish with a flash as I pulled my hirashin tag to bring him to the village.
Terra entered the gate with all her worldly possessions which wasn't much. It was her open tactical vest and short skirt with sandals. She had some rebar splints (44) in her pack as well as some gems of energy, books on crafting (three different ones), her map of the desert, Water purifier, feather tokens (5), binoculars, walkie talkie, flint, Multitool, flashlight, some paperwork for land, manacles, and lockpick kit, and a compass. But she was also wearing a single greave, couple of slots of senbon, a flute, and a large round shield on her back. The shield was almost to big for her to carry. On most it would be just a heavy shield but on her tiny frame it was basically a tower shield.
She had a pass from the greenhouse to go gather some herbs and plants. So she headed out on her wandering venture as the city became to much for this desert nomad turned shinobi.
The guard looked at the Genin who was leaving the village. The guard took a moment and looked at the pass. "Sorry. We have orders from the Jounin commander. No Genin leave the village unless they are accompanied by a Senior ranking ninja or have explicit permission from the Kage." The guard would hand the pass back and maintain his post.
Terra flips off the guard and looks at him with disdain. "I will wait for the Kage's permission right here. She understands, that lowly male can bugger off. " With that Terra posted herself right next to the guard post glaring at any male that had the unfortunate pleasure of meeting her gaze. Amira had calmed Terra somewhat but she was still an angry girl.
"Right." The gate guard said. He would reach over it his lapel and begin to speak. "Sir we have an issue at the gate. Please send someone to remove this genin from the gate." The guard out ranked her and was not going to be disrespected and let that slide. "I don't know who the fuck you think you are. But you are not permitted be here. Return to the village and do not come back without a senior ranking ninja and orders to leave the village."
"You peon can F off. I have Kage's permission and you can darn wait for it. " Terra crossed her arms and blew him a raspberry. After flipping him off for good measure she went back to waiting for a messenger bird. She had known their would be trouble because the Cloud's traitors influence everywhere. But she had had conversation with Amira.
(OOC: The rest of this can wait for Tetsu. I do have his permission so he just needs to post. )
The man looked around mockingly incredibly unimpressed. "I certainly don't see her. So as far as I'm concerned it's your word versus mine and my word happens to carry the rank of chuunin behind it." The man glared at the girl and put his hand on his weapon. "So. For the third and last time. You are not permitted to be here at the village gates. Leave this place and do not return here without the Kage with you. We have very strict orders to keep this area vacated. Furthermore, I'm sending this up the chain to every superior I can. I will make sure you are doing nothing outside these walls until you out rank ME. And judging by your shitty character that's not gonna happen. Now leave this area before I remove you from it."
The Guard pulled out a holodisk from his lapel where his radio was. He held a single seal and summoned forwards a pack of ninja dogs. One of them grabbed the disk and ran off towards the village proper.
Returning from one of his many weekly training sessions, the black haired youth came back to the village with a content feeling in his gut. With his brown-grey cloak wrapped tightly around his body to keep the sun from literally cooking him as he wandered through the white sands of the land of Wind, he saw some commotion at the village gate and wondered what might be going on there. Since the Hidden Sand was mostly a military village where the next generation of Shinobi were being prepped for combat assignments, he was having a bit of difficulty processing what his eyes picked up when someone quite literally flipped off one of the guards.
Regardless of what was going on there, it seemed more than odd for someone to do such a thing since the men and women stationed there were really only doing their job. Wondering as to whether or not his presence might make things take a turn for the better or for the worse, Hamura felt that it was a risk that he could take since things were already seemingly spiraling rather quickly. While he would refrain from expressing the words he heard coming from the woman who seemed quite a bit older than he was. Regardless of that, he knew that rank and age were not exactly closely related as he himself was only eleven but could utilize all manner of jutsu from every ranking imaginable.
"You know, you probably shouldn't be doing things like that, I doubt they'll be very friendly with you when you give them the finger."
Pushing back the hood of his cloak with a quick flick of his neck and head, he showed himself to be nothing more than a kid with somewhat wild black hair. Not being the kind to flaunt any village headbands or anything of that kind, he felt that people should know their own people by face and reputation, not by a metal plate pressed onto a fancy piece of headgear. Though he wasn't exactly sure as to what would be happening next, he was actually looking forward to seeing how things such as these would unravel. After all, if she could get away with flipping off the guards, he might as well do it himself sometime.
