That question got Junichi to freeze right the hell up, he didn’t even turn to face the redhead. And when he heard that last part tacked on, he mentally cursed. “Nothing, it was your imagination,” the dark haired one finally muttered as his tail twitched against the strips of fabric tying it down again. Still he didn’t turn towards Gorou and he definitely didn’t take his hat off to disprove his claim, busying himself as he continued to put the sandwiches together. Soon as he was done he cut each of them in half and put a handful of chips onto both plates, then poured them a glass of juice.

For a couple minutes Junichi didn’t say anything, the young man soon sighing in defeat. Hiding it from this guy now would just be troublesome. “You won’t tell anyone, right?” Finally he spoke up again, deep blue eyes watching the other closely for signs of dishonesty. If he didn’t pick up on any and received a positive response, he would reluctantly pull his hat off. The large cat ears were proportionate to his size, and they hesitantly perked up- except for the brief moment the right one twitched at the sound of someone yelling outside since it was closer to the window. His gaze dropped and he looked off to the side as well, having always been self-conscious about his abnormalities.

What is it?  Why is Jun so secretive about it, why is his face so red?  It can't truly be that bad, can it.

"Promise," Gorou says quickly, with all the honesty and trust he can muster up.  He extends his pinkie, and whether or not Jun takes it in his own pinkie isn't of grave importance right now. All that matters is his hat coming off, slowly, only to reveal...

"AWHH!!!" It's almost uncharacteristic, the volume and sheer joy Gorou dwaddles in when the ears are uncovered.  He covers first his mouth with his hands as he holds in a few more squeaks of infatuation, his eyes nearly sparkling in the new adorable features.  He reaches out to touch one, the one that didn't twitch, extending his arm with such slow velocity that his arm quivers with the weight of it all.  Soft contact, taking the ear between thumb and forefinger gingerly.

The his hand retracts, and he just smiles dreamily at Jun.  

"I love cats," he says finally.

Rolling his eyes at the offered pinkie promise, he was quite keen on ignoring it. That sudden joyous yell damn near had Junichi jumping out of his skin in surprise, his ears falling flat back on his head for a moment only to raise back up when the redhead held back any other sounds. The dark haired one’s face went scarlet as well, clearly embarrassed by Gorou’s ecstatic reaction. He tensed up, but didn’t move as the other’s hand moved to one of his ears. With how sensitive his ears were, the one the redhead touched twitched unintentionally and he quickly moved to pull his hat back on to hide them.

“Of… Of course you do,” he mumbled, looking off to the side again as he nibbled at the corner of his sandwich as a distraction. “I, uhm… They’re the only thing I got left to remind me of my business partner, so I don’t wanna change back to normal,” Jun admitted as he continued avoiding eye contact, looking at anything but the redhead. He felt like he needed to explain that much, wanting to justify the cute ears he was so self-conscious of. It was a relief that the guy hadn’t laughed or made fun of him though- he probably would have kicked the redhead’s ass and thrown him out right then and there.

“How’s your chest, anyway? I didn’t hit you too hard back there, did I?” Quickly he wanted to change the subject, to distract himself from his embarrassment.

Slightly disappointed by the hiding of the ears, Gorou sinks into his seat and takes a bite out of one half of his sandwich, leaving a simple bite-size left between his fingers.  He eats that, too, before answering his counterpart, giving up on the prior topic for the sake of Junichi's pride.  Or whatever it is that's getting all boiled up in his guts.

"No," he chuckles.  "I'm alright.  The pain didn't last very long."    He pulls his robe open to reveal the bruise against his skin.  "But I think maybe this'll last a while.  Good shot," he winks at him.

He sips from his juice as he thinks hard on other things, like how very little light is fluttering through the windows.  Red eyes turn to Junichi as he voices the worry.  "It's getting late.  Should I head out?  Or should I... uh, stay," he seems to struggle with the question, a faint red fogging his cheeks.
