In a village surrounded by water, there was a bit of irony with Roka's use of lightning-based ninjutsu. A cruel irony, but he preferred to think of it as a tactical advantage. However, he was aware that, at some point, he was bound to end up partnered up with others. Though he scoffed at the idea, he did know that he didn't want to die because of another's incompetence. When he was younger, Okarin had tried teaching him Raiton: Jibashi at some point, though he had turned a blind eye to it. It was deemed unneeded in his eyes, choosing to focus on genjutsu. However, he had a change of heart for today, and felt it to be an appropriate technique.
As Roka began weaving the set of twelve hand seals, in his mind, he visualized the chakra within his body. His mind, geared towards accelerating the chakra within his body and, by extension, creating the vibrations to kick start the technique so to speak, went into overdrive. Roka stood on a rather grassy part of the village, with a river directly in front of him to test the extent of the technique. He obviously wasn't planning on stepping foot into that river any time soon for the sake of training (and living; that was nice, too). He felt a brief surge through his body for a mere moment, but as quickly as it started to happen, it didn't.
This earned an irritated sigh from Roka. He expected far more out of himself then this. "Worthless" he said, obviously towards the sole audience that was made up of only him. Of course, as he was not as preferable towards ninjutsu, he hadn't been as concerned with his use of his lightning affinity. As annoyed by it as he was, he knew it was inevitable. However, that didn't mean he wasn't going to remedy that, obviously. He'd get it done with the desired results; he'd make sure of that.
Once more, Roka's hands began moving swiftly and accordingly, demonstrating his knowledge of the fundamentals at nothing else of Raiton: Jibashi. His chakra, flaring up with the vibrations created from the speeding up of the chakra as if it was under the influence of speed, surged through his body, a power that was most certainly something he was most grateful for. Letting that power run through his body -- it was a feeling true to his character, he felt. There was nothing wrong with being true to oneself, now was there?
It was at this particular instance that Roka was made aware of that power that now became visible in the palm of one, singular hand; that being his right arm, his dominant arm. Though he didn't mind that it was in that arm, he was still very much aware that the technique was incomplete as it was. Still, he'd give it a brief trial run, moving his arm around. He noticed that there was some resistance as he did so, something to be expected from this technique. It wasn't as if lightning was something that could be tamed that easily, after all.
Roka watched as the river cried out in anguish, the visible sparks jumping around like fish. In fact, he noticed that a few began floating upwards, dead. He showed no signs of compassion. They were just animals after all, no different then he. In this world, which was kill or be killed, there was no room for the weak. Power -- that immortal concept that all men have craved throughout time -- that was what he sought. To become so powerful not a single person would even consider challenging him. That was his goal in life. Was that such a terrible thing to desire? He didn't think so, but at the same time, he didn't really care.
The technique reverting due to the incomplete nature, Roka was very much aware of where he went wrong during that execution. Too much power had been focused into his right hand. An equal balance was required for this technique, as too much would provide one hand the technique but an incomplete variant, and too little did ... well, nothing whatsoever.
Returning back to the drawing board, once more, a more focused Roka began the weaving of the seals, his hands delicately moving to and from until he had finished it moments later. Visualizing his chakra circulatory system, he started at the source -- around the stomach. Starting the process, with every seal, he imagined a gear spinning, supplying power. This power in exchange began bouncing around his body, before he began directing it towards his hands, the seals serving as this catalyst. Distributing an equal power to both hands was paramount in this, and so he made a mental note to do just that.
The crackling sound of lightning was heard, being emitted from the palm of Roka's hands. A proud smirk found a home across the white haired monster's lips. Roka couldn't wait to try it out, using the lightning in a manner almost whip like, the river shrieking in pain so to speak. Volts flew up in the air with the water, as more fish rose up.
