Genma climbed out of bed, the morning sun shining in his face was what awoke him. He couldn't wait to get ready and start to train, he was determined to learn a new jutsu today, perhaps that is what drove him to get out of bed so quick, or it could have been the loud, obnoxious noises erupting from his stomach. Genma walked to his closet and dug through it, putting on his normal apparel. The last thing he put on was his red scarf, which sat in a shoe box in the bottom of his closet. Then walking into the bathroom he fixed his hair so he looked like he had some form of decency and headed straight for the kitchen. In the corner of his room stood a wooden man, his puppet Fukurou, but as he approached the door to the kitchen, it seemed like a meat room.
He could have sworn he had the heat turned on higher, but as the kitchen came into full view, the refrigerator was left open... All night. He approached his refrigerator and kneeled down before it. As he looked through all of the goods, they were ruined. Sighing, his stomach then reminded him that it was empty and demanded for nourishment, something to fill it. He dug through the cupboards and cabinets. Empty, empty, empty, and... An apple and an orange. “That will have to do for now” he figured, having no problems peeling the orange and eating it. Grabbing his puppet and throwing it over his shoulder, Genma walked to the door, apple in hand and headed out, the day met him.
He was anxious and eager, nervous and relaxed, confident but unsure. There was that small part of him that told him he couldn’t do it, but he was more than sure that he could master this jutsu, if he was able to become a puppeteer, what was to stop him from learning something so simple? But his puppet was beginning to become a burden; he decided it would be best if he just hurried to his training area. Stepping out to the street, apple was in his mouth. Genma jumped to the roof of his house and traveled jumping from roof to roof, traveling to his favorite training spot. The village was alive, the sun shone brightly over-head, and he had nothing to worry about.
Finally, he had reached it, where he would train. It was next to a still lake, the water was a mirror for the rays of the sun and Genma as he looked into the depths of the water. He then turned long enough to gently lower his puppet onto the cool, wet grass, and then he reached down and removed his sandals, the morning dew on the grass stuck to the bottom of his feet. Standing there, taking in a breath before looking around. It was quite out here, that was one of reasons Genma loved coming out here. Finally grabbing his apple and biting down hard so remove a large chunk of it, he chewed the fruit and took plenty of more bites out of it until nothing remained but the core of the apple. He let the core fall to the ground and roll through the grass and finally into the lake.
He still stood over the lake, looking at his image below him, as it stared back at him. He kneeled down before the water, disturbing the lake’s stillness long enough to get a hand full over water and splash it in his face. He was cheering himself on his head mentally. You can do it! Don’t worry, if you mess up you can try again! Not every ninja masters every jutsu they try on their first try! You have all day to do this! He had no problem thinking up comments and words of support to himself. He, in his mind, was relaying over what the scroll had about the jutsu. It was an element-based jutsu, wind to be specific. He was going to blow a large blast of wind from his mouth which could be quite dangerous, but helpful when trying to knock enemies back.
He looked down at Fukurou, “Well, I guess I am going to have to do this sooner or later, I am not about to make a major decision that helps the Mizukage whether we are allying or going to war with another village, right?” Genma said to his puppet, as if he was expecting an answer from it, but it just lay there, it’s four, empty, pupil less eyes just stared back at him. “Of course I can do it!” Genma said, raising his hands to his mouth and focused all of his chakra in his face, he felt something, and then breathed as hard as he could...
