Yukigakure, the Village Hidden in the Snow
Welcome, friend, to Hidden Village of the Snow, deep in the northern lands of Yuki no Kuni. It is not an easy place, and few make it through the harsh and forbidding winters, but those who do come out of them stronger than ever, and because of that, the shinobi of Yukigakure have a reputation for being some of the fiercest and hardiest in all the world. They are not like those springtime ninja of Konohagakure. They know true hardship, and are not brought to tears by the loss of a single comrade. The architectural style is growing distinct from the rest of the world. While the other Water nations, once powerful allies of Snow, spend years constructing buildings which are marvels of the modern world, the hard Nixes of the north country are using the quick to build structures of staved buildings, so that they can construct effectively during their sort Spring building time. The projects not built in this style have taken years to do, and were done in more prosperous and warmer times, so only the greatest of stone buildings from the olden days remain, as the castles and irreplacable forts.
Weather: Its spring, and the snow is melting, but not gone yet. The banks of snow are still omnipresent, the green is just starting to come back. But it is by no account warm. The sunlight gets just 10 degrees above freezing, and at night, the subzero temperatures would kill any who are caught out. Snow storms hit occasionally at night, but by day its largely freezing rain.
Buildings: Linkety Link Link
Overarching Events: Right now, the village is preparing to build some new buildings in the early summer, and then go out on some kind of diplomatic expedition for the coming warmer times.
Out of Character Notes: I will not be stickying quite so often as other Kage. I hate stickies, they clutter up the village. This will be the primary sticky, it will link you to all the useful village threads. If you have a thought for something that should be added here, please let me know.
