A wide span of land caked with a thin layer of snow. Spanning out in a flat line with the occasional hill. The glistening whiteness of the snow can be rather teasing on the eyes, but nonetheless an easy place to spend a day’s worth of training. This area is private, vast and somewhat remote, which leaves a single person fully capable of claiming it as their own. Large pines shroud this area, towering over the edges like that of a crater. No buildings are visible for at least two miles and the village itself is perhaps three miles away.
It is early morning. The sun is moments from raising while shadows dance long the empty space, waiting until the last minute to flee back into the woods. The snow was reasonably thin this time, signifying that summer was present and at her highest. A faint crunching sound echoed throughout the field as Roman walked into the vast space of the field. To begin his day of training. So many ideas shifted through his mind’s eye as he wondered along the snow, occasionally kicking at the ground to reveal a few blades of greyish grass.
Having come dressed in a traditional Hakama, his white umanori trousers almost camouflaging in the vast now. It is only his navy coloured himo and his long black hair that gave away his location. Despite the snow, Roman wore the traditional ninja sandals over reddened feet. Having been bought up within this cool harsh environment, Roman does not mind the cold and often ventures out in the coldest times of the morning. Like now for instance. The sun always raises in the east, blanketing the horizon with its warm grace. But today, Roman had decided to learn how to navigate this area without the use of a compass he doesn’t own.
