The first challenger (dojo fight, OM)

[The Blind Beast]

The cool courtyard made for a peaceful scene as Shenjie continued to breath deeply, with the constant sounds of gentle water flow behind him and the wide 20 meter by 20 meter courtyard that housed the training that he was undergoing. "calming..." He muttered quietly as he kept his ears keenly aware of anyone who might approach. The ground, also felt fairly decent to him as he observed the area around him with a gentle sense of serenity. 

His White martial arts Gi was not perfectly clean, as it was worn from training and the dust from the floor. His sleeves were rolled up as to expose his forearms and to give him more freedom of movement. He wore no shoes, and donned no holder equipment except for his black belt that he wore around his waste. His Iwagakure no sato headband and butt bag were gently placed beside him, along with his clan's special staff that he allowed to sit there gently beside him. His butt bag had a plethora of bo shruiken, a few kunai, and some caltrops that he stashed away in the pouch itself. He also had some explosive tags in there somewhere; however he would have to feel around for them before he was likely to find them. The calmness of the setting kept him at ease as he prepared for someone to challenge his dojo finally. He kept his head bowed in meditation as he awaited the first challenger to arrive. 

[Moon]

A twenty meter by twenty meter field stretched before him, as Ōm entered the strangely calm courtyard of what he assumed was another shinobi, head lowered in meditation. He could tell from the young man's clothing that he cared little for his appearance, and with clothing typical of traditional martial artists, no shoes, and a belt signifying some aloof mastery, the stranger easily identified himself as a practitioner of the physical arts. Ōm noted the staff and bag next to him, was wary of the preparedness it signaled. He'd been walking for some time, merely wandering the grass plains and streaming water that culminated in some sort of stream directly behind where the boy sat.

The dirt marking the other's apparel sent spikes of warning through Ōm's senses. The boy's head was bowed but his eyes seemed to remain open almost of their own accord, and in their opaque gaze was only milky whiteness. It was not a natural coloration, and there were unmistakable signs that something was off as the young man muttered something quietly to himself, as if unaware of anyone elses presence. Nearing the boy with a steady and watchful gait, only ten meters in space would separate the two at the end of Ōm's pacing. He took in their surroundings and for perhaps the seventh time, moved his hands imperceptibly beneath his maroon cloak, checking that each of his many items were in their place.


Ōm cleared his throat, his right hand firmly secured around the handle of his Katana, a soundless gripping. Pouches, tags, kunai, knives; all was where it should be. He cleared his throat a second time, loudly, cocking his head to the side.

Was this truly his opponent? He seemed so...peaceful.

[The Blind Beast]

"my first challenger, It seems you have chosen to challenge my dojo..." Shenjie said slowly rising up from his kneeling position. Shenjie felt through the ground that his opponent was about 10 meters away form his position. "prepare yourself, you may have the first move as the challenger." Shenjie said calmly as he took a deep breath. The cool sound of the stream gave him comfort as he did his best to remain relaxed as he extended his right arm out, making a palm up, flat arm sword that resembled the first Goutetsu stance if the fellow was familiar with the martial art. "you may begin." Shenjie said knowing that the fact that his blind gaze would probably freak him out a little bit. Shenjie extended his legs so that he would have better footing as he prepared for the attack that the fellow would most likely invoke.

He chose to fight with his fist, which was common with him seeing as unarmed fighting was hsi proactive way of bettering himself through the martial arts. His body was relaxed and calm as he took a deep breath, studying the sounds the fellow made when he breathed, keeping a good feel of him within his range of vibration feeling. He sensed the heat given off by the fellow as well, sensing him like a snake's thermal vision would through hidden pits in his nose. "Make sure to give it your best." Shenjie assured his opponent as he wanted him to know that this fight was for personal betterment and not for spiteful killing. He wanted his opponent to take away from this experience as Shenjie knew he would himself. "are you ready?" Shenjie asked as he basically gave his opponent permission to attack.

Effect: Without this Jutsu the Clan is capable of just listening with sharpen hearing. What this Jutsu does is by using the chakra along their eardrum, labyrinth system, as well as the outer ear of the body the user makes their ear into something of a sonar. This sonar system enables the brain to remember certain points by sound wave frequencies that hits the ear from a pebble hitting the water, to a person walking along grass. The Sonar system enables the Shitakuma clan to basically see. This is greatly used when Rain falls down for every time a drop hits the ground it emits a sound so basically they are capable to see for the first time in their lives. When first learned the distance that one is capable of understanding and remembering is the distance of fifty meters. After each time learned the distance goes up by twenty meters.
Special: The first time learned the user must do the signs of Dragon, Rabbit, Dragon, Ram. After the first time there would be no need for the seals.
Drawback: Must be trained into this more then once. Without the proper training of a technique such as Kusokesuni and Advanced version sounds could cause dizziness or damage to the user. The sounds to create this must be sounds that are greatly abrupt and fast which must be near the ear like a Flash/Bang grenade.
Description: When sound frequencies hit the ear it creates a sonar in which the mind remembers in a certain distance until the sound waves hit the ear once again. It looks as if the user is capable of seeing in such a way but it is just a technique that enables the user to know where to go and how far objects are at. They are capable of seeing shapes, and size, but the thing is they are not capable of seeing defined objects.
Limit: Only a technique for the Shitakuma Clan

When ever the user steps, or when another steps in the radius of tremor sense, the mind of the user picks up the vibrations along the feet creating a somewhat of a picture of the user. Since people have water constricted within their own bodies as well as metalic components of the body a user could see the movements of the body in blur like motion, where they can guess if an attack is coming towards them. This is the beginning stage of the tremor sense technique and is the foundation of the tremor sense techniques. When learned their is a thirty percent chance that the user is capable of defending against melee attacks within arms reach. This however does not mean that after each attack someone comes forth to role a die. It just means that the chances of trying to stop melee attacks is not as well or as concentrated as one would wish it to be.
Limit: Anyone can learn, but it takes an extreme amount of chakra unless they master earth techniques or is part of the Shitakuma clan. Can only be learned if learning the blind way of life.

Ōm only spoke Necril, the language of the undead, and when the sounds of the man's foreign mumbling first reached him, he could draw no meaning from the words. Movement, however, he understood, and as the young man would rise, slowly, from his kneeling position, a flick of his left wrist would hurl a single kunai at the boy's midsection. It would be thrown with simple aim that sought to embed it into the boy's navel, hopefully catching him in the middle of his sluggish rise upwards, not even allowing him to take further action, or form a stance. After all; Ōm did not care much for courtesy or grand gestures, only combat had brought him here.

In near simultaneous timing with the throw, Ōm's grip on the katana shifted, leaning the handle back a few inches until only its furthest edge would glint from beneath his cloak, protruding from the lower left side, near his own left knee. He would advance towards the young man at a healthy pace, not full speed, but quick enough to bring their ten meter distance down to five by the time his thrown kunai would cover the original distance between them. If it impacted it would be painful, but not fatal, digging itself into the abdominal flesh. But of course, Ōm did not count on such things, only watched the boy's movements as he flowed forth, grip tight, twisting the blade a scant few degrees as he traveled.

His left hand would shift, most likely unnoticeably, beneath his cloak, a motion of brisk retrieval. He would wait to strike out with his blade, until the moment his opponent's response revealed the opening he hoped would come.

Shenjie felt the acceleration in the air change as he realized that his opponent was obviously not into ceremony. Shenjie quickly rolled to his left to avoid the weapon that was thrown his way. "ah...I see you don't respect you opponent...then I guess I will not hold back either." Shenjie said placing his foot forward as he utilize his masterful footwork to place himself back to a standing position. 

Shenjie now was on the offensive as he approached his opponent. Keeping his body slightly to his opponent's left as he prepared to attack. Shenjie mentally focused on his opponent's arms, as he didn't have to look to see what his opponent was doing. In fact, he felt every move the fellow made as he closed the distance much faster than his opponent planned to do so as Shenjie quickly threw his body to the side as he now came from the fellow's right flank, favoring a southpaw stance. Shenjie quickly threw a pair of jabs as he engaged the fellow, aiming one for the face, and the second for the body. If those hits were successful, Shenjie would throw a straight punch to keep his opponent in the chain of hits; however if he was avoided, Shenjie would employ a different tactic.

Boxing attacks and stance usage

Footwork

Effect: A simple technique in which is needed to know in order to keep the boxer moving keeping them light on their toes against opponents.
Special: ---
Drawback: Get caught flat-footed and you will be vulnerable to counterpunches.
Description: Keep your weight balanced on both feet. Stay on the balls of your feet so you can attack, spin or retreat quickly to safety. Practice moving side to side or in a circular motion around your opponent. Shift and shuffle your feet quickly, but keep them close to the ground so you have a solid base under you. Switch stances often when training. This means you'll change which foot is in front. Work your calf muscles by jumping rope, biking and doing bag drills while moving constantly. Good footwork requires training with an integrated approach to movement, strategy, punches thrown and balance. It all has to work together, so you should always be thinking about your footwork.
Limit: Must learn in a gym that teaches Bokushingu (Boxing), Must know Upright Stance or Semi-Crouch

Upright Stance

Effect: A Basic upright stance used in boxing.

Description: Picture To adopt an Upright Stance, you should stand with your legs roughly shoulder-width apart. Your back foot should be about half a step behind your front foot. If your dominant boxing hand is your right hand, your left foot will lead. Lift your right heel off the ground by about 3 inches and point both feet inward (although do not exaggerate this movement). If you lift your heel too far off the ground, or turn your feet too far inward, you will become unbalanced. As a test, imagine someone pushing you from any direction. In a properly balanced stance, you should be able to maintain an upright position and not fall to the ground or sway from side to side. To increase the stability of your stance, keep your knees and hips slightly bent but make sure your back is straight. Your lead fist (which will be your left fist if your dominant boxing hand is your right hand) should be positioned vertically at eye level, approximately six inches away from your face. Your right fist should be positioned next to your chin, with your elbow held against your ribcage. This is good defensive positioning and will effectively protect your body. Whilst watching televised boxing matches, you may have noticed the boxers tapping their cheeks with their hands. This repetitive action acts as a reminder to keep fists up at all times and is especially important as the match progresses and energy levels drop. To further protect yourself from blows from your opponent, keep your chin pressed against your chest. Punches to the jaw often cause knock-outs, so it is essential to keep this stance throughout the boxing match.

The Jab

Effect: A quick, straight punch thrown with the lead hand from the guard position.

Drawback: ---
Description: Picture Stand with your feet hip distance apart. Step your right foot back 18-24 inches with the weight of your right leg on the ball of your foot (right heel is somewhat elevated and the knees are slightly bent). Bring your right fist close to your right cheek bone and your left fist slightly in front of it about jaw height. Pull your elbows in towards your ribs so that they line up somewhat below your fists. Push off of the ball of the right foot, bend the left knee slightly and start to extend the left hand in a pushing type motion (there should be a subtle rotation as your left hand goes forward your right shoulder moves back). You may also rotate the fist so that when it reaches the desired destination your left palm will be facing down. Retract the left hand as fast as you extended it and return to the original position. Remember before punching relax the hand, snap it forward and clinch before making contact. Do your best to strike with the first two knuckles and keep your wrist in neutral position upon impact. Aim six to eight inches beyond your target. Extend the arm only about 90-95 percent. Keep your chin tucked down toward your chest--this protects your jaw from exposure to being hit. Bring your hand back as fast as you throw it. Move your head on an angle as you throw the punch.

Description: Picture Determine which hand is your strong hand. Although you can throw a straight hand punch with either your left or right hand, it will be most effective if you use your strongest hand. Most right-handed fighters have a stronger right hand, while left-handed fighters have stronger left hands. Get into a basic boxing stance. Keep your feet shoulder-width apart with your knees slightly bent. If you are right-handed, your left shoulder should be pointed toward the other fighter and your right shoulder should be back. The opposite is true if you are left-handed. Keep both hands up. They should hover just under the chin, with your forearms in front of your body. This will protect you from the opponent's punches. Begin the straight hand punch from the foot. Push off your back foot and pivot toward your opponent, twisting your foot, leg, torso and shoulders. Concentrate on bringing power up from your leg, hips, trunk and shoulders and channeling it into your fist as you twist your body. If you don't pivot your body, your punch will be much weaker than if you use the correct form. Aim for the other fighter's face. Punch out in a straight line and extend the arm out all the way. At the point of impact, your feet and body should be facing the other fighter. Snap your hand back to your chin as you twist your body back to the beginning position. Remember to keep your left hand up throughout the punch so you have a guard up to protect you from a counterpunch.
Limit: Must learn in a gym that teaches Bokushingu (Boxing), Must know Upright Stance or Semi-Crouch

Ōm thought, though perhaps it was not best to be hasty in actions such as these. As the kirigakure genin had timed his movement forward so that by the time his thrown kunai would cover the original distance between them, he would already be only five meters away from the boy, taking the time to not only roll out of the projectiles way, but speak, and attempt to readjust himself, would cement the young man's demise. In plain view of Ōm's perfectly functioning eyes, it took very little effort to move his already positioned blade to its reversed grip, especially considering he'd already been twisting the handle, edge now straightened back. Once the boy's foot was placed forward, more or less actualizing his decision to approach Ōm instead of retreat, the katana would be released in a dizzying spiral towards - and through - the center of his foes body.

Unfortunately, it would not matter what bizarre sense his opponent seemed to be using to perform evasive actions, as the blade would move at an incredible ten meters per second, covering the five meter distance between them in half that time. Moving towards Ōm in any capacity would only ensure that the blade sawed through his opponent quicker, and as the boy had committed himself to advancing, by his own volition, he'd left himself quite literally no time to perform another of his tricky rolls. Even if the boy could somehow predict his actions, prediction and reaction were not the same thing, and the enemy had already proven he was simply not that fast.

Genkai Ryuu: Kenheki (Sword Pierce)

Description: User holds the sword with a reverse grip aiming the blade towards the back. User launches the blade by hurling it towards the opponent. The sword travels at 10 meters per second plus 5 meters per class level. The technique may spin for a total of 2 rounds before returning to the user. The sword spins while attacking 2 times per second. This technique follows the designated opponent until it makes its first strike. Once it strikes it becomes stationary and continues to spin for the remainder amount of time. User may hurl the sword with less effort allowing it to return earlier than expected.
Limit: Must Learn from a Master of Burēdono Kenseijin - ブレードの剣聖人 - Blade of the Sword Saint

[The Blind Beast]

Metal on scabbard, Shenjie heard the motion of the sword moving, and in that instant, sword on scabbard, Shenjie blinked forward faster than any physical human would normally move. By focusing his inner Ki into his legs, he body preformed the amazing feat just as his opponent had dedicated himself to an attack, preventing any similar motion from himself. As Shenjie appeared right before the fellow, he would study the body of his opponent in an instant from the vibration that he felt from his quick motion. The fellow had is right arm low, under his cloak, drawing his sword; which Shenjie would have to first neutralize in this opening move. Quickly throwing his left arm downward so that his opponent’s arm sailed right to where it was positioned in the drawing motion, Shenjie would clasp the fellow’s forearm, grabbing onto it with a good deal of strength.

The fellow might have been fast, but Shenjie was fully confident in that he was much stronger than his foe. Shenjie stopped speaking, as the respect between opponents had been diminished, there was nothing left to say except for fists on the battlefield. As Shenjie stopped the fellow’s drawing motion, he simultaneously launched a jab at the fellows face to disorient him, or to the best degree cause him a bit of pain that would distract him from Shenjie’s next move of attack that would require him to pull his arm back again and extend his middle, index, and ring fingers before swiftly jabbing towards his opponent’s sword arm shoulder. The strike was not intended to injure the fellow, but numb his arm so that he would inevitably drop his sword. Shenjie had learned that one of the key points in overcoming a swords man is separating him from his sword.

Kusomimi (HellsEars) X2

Effect: Without this Jutsu the Clan is capable of just listening with sharpen hearing. What this Jutsu does is by using the chakra along their eardrum, labyrinth system, as well as the outer ear of the body the user makes their ear into something of a sonar. This sonar system enables the brain to remember certain points by sound wave frequencies that hits the ear from a pebble hitting the water, to a person walking along grass. The Sonar system enables the Shitakuma clan to basically see. This is greatly used when Rain falls down for every time a drop hits the ground it emits a sound so basically they are capable to see for the first time in their lives. When first learned the distance that one is capable of understanding and remembering is the distance of fifty meters. After each time learned the distance goes up by twenty meters.
Special: The first time learned the user must do the signs of Dragon, Rabbit, Dragon, Ram. After the first time there would be no need for the seals.
Drawback: Must be trained into this more then once. Without the proper training of a technique such as Kusokesuni and Advanced version sounds could cause dizziness or damage to the user. The sounds to create this must be sounds that are greatly abrupt and fast which must be near the ear like a Flash/Bang grenade.
Description: When sound frequencies hit the ear it creates a sonar in which the mind remembers in a certain distance until the sound waves hit the ear once again. It looks as if the user is capable of seeing in such a way but it is just a technique that enables the user to know where to go and how far objects are at. They are capable of seeing shapes, and size, but the thing is they are not capable of seeing defined objects.
Limit: Only a technique for the Shitakuma Clan

Drawback: Someone needs to touch the ground in order for the person to see. This means that even the user can see by stepping. This also means that the user must be touching the ground at all times. This technique does not work on water, sand, or metal or ice. The ground is to loose for the user to see the vibrations along the ground, or is to concentrated which creates less vibrations.
Description: When first learned the user is capable of seeing in a radius of five meters. After each time learned it increases by ten meters. When ever the user steps, or when another steps in the radius of tremor sense, the mind of the user picks up the vibrations along the feet creating a somewhat of a picture of the user. Since people have water constricted within their own bodies as well as metalic components of the body a user could see the movements of the body in blur like motion, where they can guess if an attack is coming towards them. This is the beginning stage of the tremor sense technique and is the foundation of the tremor sense techniques. When learned their is a thirty percent chance that the user is capable of defending against melee attacks within arms reach. This however does not mean that after each attack someone comes forth to role a die. It just means that the chances of trying to stop melee attacks is not as well or as concentrated as one would wish it to be.
Limit: Anyone can learn, but it takes an extreme amount of chakra unless they master earth techniques or is part of the Shitakuma clan. Can only be learned if learning the blind way of life.

Tremor Sense Advanced X2

Description: Picture Stand with your feet hip distance apart. Step your right foot back 18-24 inches with the weight of your right leg on the ball of your foot (right heel is somewhat elevated and the knees are slightly bent). Bring your right fist close to your right cheek bone and your left fist slightly in front of it about jaw height. Pull your elbows in towards your ribs so that they line up somewhat below your fists. Push off of the ball of the right foot, bend the left knee slightly and start to extend the left hand in a pushing type motion (there should be a subtle rotation as your left hand goes forward your right shoulder moves back). You may also rotate the fist so that when it reaches the desired destination your left palm will be facing down. Retract the left hand as fast as you extended it and return to the original position. Remember before punching relax the hand, snap it forward and clinch before making contact. Do your best to strike with the first two knuckles and keep your wrist in neutral position upon impact. Aim six to eight inches beyond your target. Extend the arm only about 90-95 percent. Keep your chin tucked down toward your chest--this protects your jaw from exposure to being hit. Bring your hand back as fast as you throw it. Move your head on an angle as you throw the punch.

Cerberus Thrust

Effect: The user uses three fingers and jabs any joint in the opponent's body with extreme force, causing numbing of the limb for two posts.

Description: The user lifts their arm and extends the index, middle, and ring finger. Jabbing the area where the joints are located, the user is able to hinder the opponent from using the associated limb for a limited time.

Shunshin no Jutsu - Oshi (Body Flicker Technique - Push)

Effect: A Jutsu that allows a user to rush forward in almost instantaneous speed. Used to draw the user close to the opponent.

Drawback: May use 3 times a day. May perform 1 more each time learned. Passing amount renders the user's legs immobile due to severe pain. Unable to perform again unless gained medical treatment. Must move through an opening. Unable to maneuver around obstructing objects. Can't attack while performing any Shunshin or Variation.
Description: User is able to move forward in a straight line along the ground in almost instantaneous untraceable speed while temporarily masking the user's movements within 10 meters. A puff of smoke is occasionally used to disguise the user's movements. It is accomplished by focusing the user's chi along the ankles and foot. User mostly moves just with their ankles and feet. Jutsu takes up no movements. User may only use this Jutsu half of the movements may allow in a single round while rounding down. Example: User has 5 movements, user is able to perform Jutsu 2 times per round.
Limit: Universal NinJutsu or Universal TaiJutsu.

1. You're inventing a scabbard that doesn't exist. In the second post I clearly state that the edge of the blade is partially protruding from the lower left side. I also simply throw the katana at you; at no point do I mention a sheathe, the blade having a sheathe, or possessing one that a blade would need to be removed from.

2. You have 1/2 a second to react (actually, less, as the range/speed of the technique I used actually increases by 5 meters dependent upon class level) to a blade that you have made no mention of even noticing until the most recent post, and are attempting to change tactics and position mid-movement. In the time it would take you to process the thought of something moving towards you, you would already be dead. In the time it would take you to think about dodging, you would already be dead, aside from the fact that the Hell's Ear's technique simply doesn't function in the way you are attempting to use it.

3. Good job trying to continue! I would have no problem simply re-starting the battle, as you mentioned that this was being done so that both of us could learn from the experience; but you won't learn anything from battling in an unrealistic and ridiculous way, and I won't benefit from simply letting you perform actions which are outright impossible (for both us, i might add).


4. Also...you used Shunshin but didn't change your angle of approach (as it doesn't allow you to, it's a linear movement that mentions being in a straight line, even in the technique). So you ran super-fast, straight towards a blade that is moving about as fast as you are. By the time you take a step forward, i'm already throwing it at you. I can see you, remember.

I don't throw the blade at you until after you take a step towards me, and there is nothing for you to react to 'before' this happens, because there is no scabbard for me to withdraw the blade from, and that's the only thing you've mentioned as evidence that you can utilize Hell's Ears.[/ul]
