Hit feet struck the paving stones with a light patter. He was setting a brisk if not hurried pace. His eyes were still adjusting to the light of the sun, but he kept his stride steady. In truth it was a wonder he didn’t walk into anyone. His legs and back were throbbing, and he really didn’t know how long he could keep walking without resting. He had already made it through the cit gate, so luckily he only needed to go a little further to make it to the docks that would set him out to sea and on his way to the water country. Finally, with a hand shielding his eyes from the sun, Muteki was able to make out the docks in just a short hours walk away.
He wasn’t in a real hurry to get home, to be honest; it was the last thing he wanted to do. When he got there he would have to find Nyzu and apologize, along with reporting his blunder to the kage. He had heard in passing that there was a new kage appointed too. The images of a beast like monster eating him crept into his head. At least the dread of reaching the destination always made the trip shorter, which for him and his aching body was a good thing.
The wooden boards of the dock were quite solidly built, and the salty air of the sea filled Muteki’s lungs. He had arrived, and all he needed to do was charter a vessel… or acquire one through other methods if chartering was out of the question. He gazed out upon some of the boats in the harbor, looking for the smallest sea worthy boat available. Then, after a moment of searching, his eyes came upon the “Seas mistress”. It was a small one mast ship, but one that would be able to make the journey in a matter of a day or two. “Perfect.” He said with a tired grin. He sauntered up to the ship which was currently loading cargo. They were hauling a mere 3 or four crates, and the captain along with one other man were moving everything. Apparently this fellow was relatively new to shipping. He must have just starting running and this was the only size boat and crew he could afford. “Excuse me sir?” Muteki said as his eyes met the captains. “Do you guys need a mildly experience hand to assist in your journey? I need transport to the water country, and if you’ll provide it, I’ll lend you what muscles I have.” Though tired as they felt, Muteki flexed his bare arms, each producing a multitude of rippling muscles, all hardened from battle and training. The captain looked Muteki over with a wondering gaze. “Fine, lift those sacks in and we’ll be on our way. You better not think this is gunna be a pleasure cruise, cause you’d be sorely mistaken.” With that the captain stalked off to his quarters leaving Muteki, and the first mate Rowidren on the deck. They chatted as the worked and after an hour the boat had set out upon the see. Just as they were getting out of eye sight of the dock, Muteki could barely make out the forms of the hotel staff searching, probably for him.
(exiting to water country though I know I still need a post of travel or two across the water to get there. {please move XD})
