The troubling political drama had been wearing the young boy down a little too much, it was as if there were just a bunch of powerful men seeking more power for themselves. His thoughts were dark and he quickly tried to change the pattern as he walked through the streets of amegakure. Were there anyone he still could trust? or should he really stay in the hopeless hell it had become? There were none that could be saved, and why bother? nobody liked him anyways. But as he was about to allow a single tear run down from his eye, a small push reminded him that he did indeed have a friend, the huge beast following him, Zetsubô. He smiled a little back to the beast and nodded.
Yes, I like you too.
He reached into his inner mind and allowed the aura of his friend light up his darkness. It was always soothing for him to do that, to touch the presence of his friends soul. It was warm and comforting. The surroundings did however remind him that they were not alone. People were walking on streets less than 10 meters away and a few of the houses contained a few auras in them as well. Emi opened his eyes to make sure that he didn´t walk into anything without an aura. It was fairly common for him to do, but after a few meters he stopped. His eyes searched around in the area as his mind tried to reconnect to the feeling he had just have. Wasn´t he capable of change his concentration without loosing his ability to detect charkras anymore?
It wasn´t the first time he had lost an ability, but the fact that he suddenly felt weaker made the small boy curse and clench his fist. "I can´t allow myself to loose my divine powers" He thought and closed his eyes to regain his lost focus. What made him even more furious was that he didn´t even recover the concentration immediately, it was if he hadn´t even been looking at the auras before. His bad temper made his range quite significantly lower and the auras blurry so Emi walked away a little and took a few deep breaths to calm down. His mood had always had a large impact on his ability to handle chakra and since he used his anger while fighting in melee, he wondered if he ever would be able to combine those to ways of fighting.
Maybe I should use this opportunity to learn?
But he quickly abandoned that thought as he was determined to re-learn himself how to actually have his eyes open while using his inner eye. At first he opened his eyes while maintaining the normal qualities of his inner eye, but as he noticed that it didn´t work, he began to lower his range until he finally only felt his own and Zetsubôs auras. Emi opened up his eyes extremely slowly, but despite his careful attempts it took him almost 8 tries until he had managed to find the proper focus to have half his eyes open. His normal eyes did however not have the normal color. The grey tone made everything look quite a lot more depressing, but it also made him realize how dark and boring the area normally was in Amegakure. A sigh escaped him as his depressing thoughts returned to him and his inner eye almost closed yet again. The thoughts of actually leaving the village made themselves recognized before he walked up and hugged his friend and closed his eyes again.
The grass really is greener on the other side Zetsubô?
Tears ran down his cheeks, joining up with the rain. The beating of the beasts heart did however sooth his racing emotions slightly. So Emi opened up his eyes completely while having his complete focus on the beast in front of him. The aura was maintained and present in Emi´s mind. It was just as clear as it normally had been, but his vision was still grey. "That have never happened before". Curious on if that was just a side-effect of him loosing the power and had to re-learn it or if he actually was getting weaker, Emi continued on to practice opening his eyes while focused on the beast. It did however not improve itself, and when he suddenly was disturbed by a few steps closing in on them, he lost his concentration and looked in the general direction of the steps. As it was hard to see more than a few meters ahead of himself, he closed his eyes and extended his inner vision field, to see if there were someone that he recognized.
Who´s there?
He asked when the individual got close enough for a conversation to start.
