Waking up from a long sleep, Sai let his eyes adjust to being open. It was still pitch dark but he knew this cave well enough. After all, he had slept for centuries here before. He had returned here after enduring a rather taxing battle. He had been ambushed after fulfilling his mission. But from what he had heard, it seemed that it was in vain. The Amekage he was in charge of had disappeared, succeeded by another person he had previously brought back. What were the chances?

He moved closer to an overhead opening, where a soft light streamed in. He still had food rations so he started to restore his strength. Luckily, few people knew of his place. It could be said to be a temple. After all, it was beneath of what used to be a capital of an empire from eras past. He had recovered a good amount of his memories. Yet for one who had lived so long, he had expected to be at a higher level by now. He sighed. Time was no correlation for power, after all. If anything, time made power seem useless. Most people die, after all. Sai was just an exception.

He noticed that the food rations were fresher than he had expected. Apparently he had awoken earlier than expected. Was there a reason? He did get paranoid sometimes but he could have sworn that something had deliberately shook him from his slumber. Yet when he searched for people using his abilities, he found no one. Was it possible that someone had discovered this place?

Time, Stop.

As Sai would look around him he would find that he was within some kind of frozen existence. The trees outside would be silent, birds flying through the air would be stalled in their motion as if floating, and the clouds hanging overhead would be completely still. Time had frozen all around him, and he was the only thing capable of moving about. Intriguing a situation as it were, a voice would soon beckon him through the ancient confines of the cave with a voice of regal intrigue. "Thou whom hath slept through the ages, I summon thee." A man of colourless hair seated in a throne carved of white branches, the Timeless Throne of Prophecy, address Sai personally as he cradled a goblet made of diamonds in his left hand. He drunk from this goblet, sipping ever so slightly. "Has thou become thirsty from thou's slumnber? Come hither and drink." Taking his left hand a staff did appear, its name Omega, it possessed the Soul of the great Oracle sealed within and boasted the greatest power among staves of any shape. Red in colour, atop this great staff was an emerald pike in the image of a crown. The crown sparked with energy and an additional diamond goblet the size of a large fist and a bottle of the strange, silver liquid the intruder was drinking. "Drink newfound friend. Drink and be merry in my presence, you find no enemy here, only fere."

The goblet and bottle would be floating on their own and as Sai would grip the goblet the bottle would begin to pour its contents automatically, without any involvement from either Sai or the white clad man. Taking in his form the Ame shinobi would notice several key details. The first of course would be his heavy white robe, it green trimmings and was adorned with chains of silver, it would radiate a strange aura. One could assume this aura was empowering but it was in fact restricting, this was the Silk Robe of Infinite Punishment, a creation of the God of Artistry and crafts, it restricted the powers of those who wore it. He wore it over black clothing and white heeled boots, the Thundersoul Boots of the Lone Victor which empowered the wearer with the power of a storm, granting the strength of electricity and flight. The man spoke further of his beverage and not of his reason for coming, speaking in outdated terms and a long forgotten accent, it seemed very out of place in the modern and was ancient even in the times of Sai's youth. "A fine beverage this be, introduced to my kin from thou's, we've taken to calling it Silver Stardust." Again he would sip at the drink lightly, as if savouring the full-bodied taste.

He would continue to drink until questioned as to his intentions. "Prithee, fight within a tournament on mine behalf, thine God of Time Evdis. A tournament determining thine King of Gods. Dost and thy will bequeath upon thee riches and make thee fullsome. Does thou durst test his stalwart strength against the champions of thine's other Gods? Or does thou coward? I trow not!"

An eerie air precluded the strange events that unfolded before Sai's very eyes. And the man had seen some very strange things in his life. But none was stranger than the man, nay, deity, sitting before him. Once Sai had sought out a god for his blessing in war and power. In his next life, he had not expected one to come to him. The deity was wreathed in priestlike attire, albeit of an otherworldly material. His presence, while jovial, exuded a pressure Sai felt only twice in his long years. Even if the man was not who he said he was, he was still one of the most powerful beings the shinobi had ever encountered.

Shaking off the memories, he accepted the drink the God of Time poured before him. In any other situation, he would have refused for sake of poison. But he faced reality. If such a being wanted him dead, Sai would not have been able to escape regardless. A few sips would pass between the two, with the god making remarks on the brew. The old soul peered at the drink; he definitely had tasted this before yet he could not place it. He was sure it had not been called "Silver Stardust" though. He cleared his throat.

"I must say, I was not expecting company. You must forgive my poor manners, it is not everyday that I am visited by one of your rank."

Clearly, the ruler of time was in a better mood than Sai, who was not particularly a morning person. The drink helped though. Deciding to finishing the rest of his cup in a fashion that would render even the most helpless drunkard proud, he showed that his cup was empty.

"I thank you for this. And may I ask to what I owe the honor?"

The answer went straight to the point. The deity promised the shinobi riches if he were to represent him in a tournament. The concept was certainly interesting enough. Surely, the other gods would pick representatives just as powerful as Sai, if not more. However, the reward was not something he particularly desired.

"I would gladly go to battle under your banner. However, from one who has surpassed the limits of time to another, I daresay that riches do not particularly concern those like us. What I desire is power. Promise me that and I will make you King."

Time, move.

"If power is what thine wishes, then power is what thine shall receive." The area would begin to fill with light so blinding that nothing but white could be seen. "Take to the sky mine Champion, take to the sky and fulfill thou's destiny." The bright light would fade and where the God of time once stood sat in his throne would now be empty. Outside in the sky the clouds would soon part and the image of a giant ship would appear soaring through the air before a loud booming voice could be heard. "Human, chosen as acolyte of the God Evdis, God Time, controller of the passing. I am Naeyar, God Of Messages. Do you accept this offer or do you pass?" The ship sailed through the air as if it were water, pushed along by giant white sails that caught the gusts of wind from above, and two smaller flags by the side of the ship pushed by artificial wind two two large turbines. Crafted from the finest timber it looked as though the lacquer finish had been polished for months to create such a sheen. With a stylized, solid gold bulbous bow reinforcing the a long pike protruding from the ships bow it looked as though it was literally cutting the clouds as it sailed through them like an ocean of fluffy white.

If Sai would accept the offer he'd find himself instantly teleported aboard. The ship looked giant from the ground but up close, it was so much more. It stretched for miles upon miles, it was as if were made for a crew of giants, and in actuality, it was. Off in the distance, such a long way away, Sai would spy a man steering the ship. It would be at the very edge of his sight but he would be able to see this man was wearing a white battle dress with golden trimming held up by brown leather suspenders. Atop his head was a roman helm crafted of gold, moulded to make it look as though the helm had sprouted wings and fitted with a Mohawk of unicorn mane. This was the Mystic Golden Helm of Divine Kings, a helm forged with the stolen horde of the great dragon Kovinth, Destroyer Of Men, by dwarves who sacrificed it to Naeyar in a great time of need. This helm acts as a ward against mind affecting ailments and help the wearer keep a sense of right while demeaning the wrong. Upon his feet were sandals crafted with leather and trimmed with gold. These were the 'Feet of Blessed Justice' a gift from the Goddess Sopuna, she had awarded it to him days after completing the sprint across the world. These boots double a the wearers speed allowing them to run both faster and for a longer time. Finally he wore upon his wrists leather bracers, the Champion's Bracers of the Prodigy. These bracers were a gift from his brother Ombus, youngest of the three. They increase the wearers strength by triple and were gifted to Naeyar amidst the boasting of Ombus who claimed to have no need for them.

The man was gripping the wheel and holding it tightly. If the Rain ninja dared close the gap he would find he was further away than once thought. As he'd draw closer and closer to the helmsman he would find that he was a giant of a man, standing over one-hundred meters tall. Resting upon a frame by his side was a staff, the magical staff 'Dragon's Cane.' Carved from the bones of Mesanth The Mysterious One, it was fitted with a great jewel but upon the fitting the bones of Mesanth began to twist and turn to bronze and silver. Soon the images of serpents grew from the staff and accosted the jewel as if the dragons greed had surpassed the realms of life and death yet they froze before reaching it as the jewel began to glow blue. It created a shield of wings to protect itself and the serpents were halted in their advance. Some say the soul of Mesanth now lives within the jewel yet none have been able to communicate with it to confirm this theory. Other venture that the jewel was by chance the lost 'Eye of Mivtix', Goddess Of Jealousy. A lost treasure of the first wife of Hatuna, Goddess Of Thunder, which she crafted herself by tearing out her left eye and bathing it the waters of Masra, Goddess Of Truth. She used it to spy on Hatuna whilst she was away, driven mad by jealousy and paranoia, the Eye was capable of peering every corner of the universe.

A fairly quick trip in the prose of humanity, the Land of Wind was quickly in view overboard with sweeping deserts as far as the eye could see and a broken down Colosseum which had seen better days. A battle had once raged here were dreams, aspirations, and evil intent were set upon one another in an ambiguous fashion but now, it was all but forgotten to the passage of time.

Sai barely had time to mutter his thanks before the God made his departure. He had to raise his hand to protect his eyes from the blinding sea of light. When he was able to see again, Evidis had vanished. But up above, a booming voice resounded through the skylight of a hole and was magnified by the echoing of the cave. Another deity made his presence known. Two in one day. What an interesting turn of events. And what a grand ship that was. It was the stuff of dreams, that such an airship would exist. He could not even see where it ended from the cave. He did not shout but he projected his voice as much as he could to the ship.

"I accept."

He felt a similar feeling to when he used his teleportation technique as he ended up on the ship when naught but an instant had passed. Out of curiosity, he wandered the ship. Much of the ship was not accessible. And was it just him or were the doors meant for giants? Eventually he reached the helm of the ship where he saw the captain deity, in all his titan-like glory. As he did so, they reached a familiar sight, albeit one that Sai was not used to seeing from the sky. It was Kaze no Kuni. As the airship started to slow down, he guessed that they were here. As the ship slowed down, they approached what looked to be the remains of a Coliseum.
