[Insanity within the Falls]

Opening his eyes, Yamato grabbed the next exam and returned to his desk. After completing it, he got up and turned it in. Once it was turned in, he returned to his seat and put his head back down. These exams required him think more than he would've liked. But what did he expect? A chuunin had to be smart after all.

Shiki yawned and got up from his chair. He stepped over and set the exam booklet down. That seemed straight forward enough. Shiki sat down against the wall and started to fidget with his fingers.

With a quiet annoyed anger building within, the wire monster would move up getting the last question reading it over before realizing that he had missed a part of both of the first two. Quietly he would get both of his first answers and write his name and village across the top before putting them back and answering the third question. Handing it back to the examiner as he finished it and moving back to his place now eagerly waiting for the chance to spill blood.

[Cacophony]

When Pax heard this was the last question he got excited. He got up, grabbed the test and then sat back down. Within minutes he was writing down his answer to the question and then turning it back in to the examiner.

Okay...last question. Junko would try to focus hard in this the moment she had taken the paper. She still had lead left to use before it went dull. So the moment she got her answer together Junko would write it down and, silently had it in. This wasn't too bad. Last time she had to literally draw her weapons on a piece of paper to make it through a section. This was a bit more serious but, in the end she won't know if it was worth it until it is revealed first hand.

(um. Yeah as seen I am in trouble right now. So my character is bumped off from this Chuunin Exam. By lovelies.)

After a bit of waiting Junko...wasn't actually in the mood to stick around. So she would notify the examiner of her departure then be on her using the previous entry way as he ticket out. There was always the next one.

Hello dear everyone. It is time to get the CE's moving again. First though I'd like to see who is still around and willing to continue. From here on out there will only be one more phase, so if you are still good to go for that shiny title, please make a short post in this thread. Something along the lines of "Still here and ready to go". It's simply to know for me how many people are still on this.

Shiki looked up. He was eager and ready for the next part of the examination.

Scratching his head, Yamato looked around the room. So far the exam hadn't been that hard, but who knew what he had to face next. All he knew was that he needed to make sure he was prepared. For whatever else that would come after this part of the exam.

A low growl would echo around the room as Axel stood up the amount of time taking its toll on his nerves.

[Chuunin Examiner]

Gathering up your papers Garland would hand them to someone beyond the way you entered this room, only whose dark gloved hand would be visible as he or she took the papers. Amiling to the room Garland would sit down again on the desk. ”Alright everyone, just wait a few minutes now for them to be graded.”

And indeed, a bit later a new examiner would enter, a man wearing a brown trench coat and a brown fedora. The dark gloves on his hands revealed that he was most likely the man who had overseen the grading of your papers. Grey slacks protruded from under his coat ending at shiny black dress shoes. He wore a white shirt and a black tie, at the edges of which you could just see the grey jacket of the suit appearing from underneath the coat. A cigarette hanging lazily from his mouth would spread a slightly noxious smell across the room as his dark brown eyes were cast along the room, under his left arm a small stack of papers. He would take a black permanent marker out of his pocket and turn to the closest surface in front of the group. Popping the cap with his teeth he would start writing on the surface in big clear letters.

Rather than putting it back in his pocket however he would throw the marker so hard across the room that it cracked the glass of one of the panels behind you. He would take off his hat, revealing thick dark brown combed back hair and a bushy beard, staring at the contestants with deep dark brown eyes. Ever so slowly and without saying a word he would place his fedora on the desk behind which Garland sat. Then he would slap the papers down on Garland’s desk loudly and angrily. ”Do you think this is a joke?! Only two of you have a passable grade. I do not know you you are but this guy…” He would move to the board, pointing at Shiki’s name on top. ”This guy look at him. He’s top dog, alpha wolf! Beta wolf is also doing well.” He would say, pointing at Yamamoto’s name.

”As for the rest of you! Get a grip on yourself dammit! If I was stuck in the field with you I might as well kill myself! I mean look at freaking… Gamma, delta, epsilon… Zeta. LOOK AT ZETA dog here! Next time just put the heads of your protegees in the mud until they snuff it. Fubar man. FUBAR! Alpha and beta, you steaksauce!” Looks like this guy had come to grind nuts and was very much busy doing so. He would kick the desk which according to the laws of physics would slide a few feet, luckily without knocking it over. This forced Garland’s feet off the table however. ”Hey!” But the new examiner paid no heed. ”Now listen up you greenhorns before I turn you into sugercookies.”

He would move past you all, approaching the panel he had cracked. With his foot he would kick it down, revealing this actually being a door. Beyond it were six doors, numbered one to six. ”You can look at your exam results on the table, after that you go past there and go through the door I am assigning you. Shiki, door one, Yamato, door two, Zeki, door three, Pax, door four, Rahael, door five and Axel, door six. Go through it, you will find your instructions on the other side. And whatever you do, remember this gem of wisdom: the trick to not fucking it all up is recognise that you are fucking shit up and then not fuck it up.” He would procure a sadistic smile on his face, looking up at all of you with an eerily palpable sense of glee. ”Have fun!”

Written Exam Part 1

Cacophony : 7/10
How do you catch the game?
How do you get the pelts without a knife?

Hoarfrost Imp : 3/10
You do not address the issue of the broken leg.
Moving during the night instead of day does not conceal you if you then build a fire during the day (smoke would give you away), which makes the use of night-time movement futile and exhausting for your protegees.

Wolf of the Falls : 0/10
Usage of any jutsu or items besides the two chosen was not allowed.

snowflake : 10/10
Excellent use of resources and people. All problems addressed in detail. No remarks. Added a smiley sticker.

Insanity within the Falls : 9/10
Excellent use of forest resources.
Wound care is excellent but you have not tried to actually find a way to close the wound other than just stop the bleeding, so you only just miss out on a perfect grade.

Ranzu : 6/10
Drinking unclean water was unnecessary, there are ways of purifying without technology and sources of relatively clean water. Diarrhoea is a considerable danger.
How do you hunt?
You suggest searching for food in the evening, that exposes you the onset of the cold and as soon as it becomes dark you will have trouble finding food.


Written Exam Part 2

Cacophony : 5/10
You assault the lion with sticks and stones from the vicinity and without any actual weapons. This brings considerable risk of injury. Not good in a survival setting. At least you go slightly tactically about it.

Hoarfrost Imp : 7/10
A strategy without putting yourself at considerable risk. Still you engage the lion without weapons, making a decisive victory unlikely.

Wolf of the Falls : 0/10
Usage of any jutsu or items besides the two chosen was not allowed.

snowflake : 10/10
Excellent use of the group. Engaging with the prepared weapons in this manner will almost surely lead to victory without any losses or wounds.

Ranzu : 7/10
Ambush tactics might work. Waiting for the lion to come to you however and exposing your protegees like this comes with severe risk. Although it is a gamble in your favour, this is still a gamble.



Written Exam Part 3

Cacophony : 6/10
Diverting the troops from your protegees might prove fortuitous. This however alerts them to your presence, making it to be likely that you are discovered again after losing your pursuers. Also, you might not pull off enough of them considering the number of adversaries.

Hoarfrost Imp : 6/10
Use of hiding tactics compared coupled with a small diversion. You however have a high chance of not finding your protegees back.

snowflake : 10/10
Fallback plans for multiple situations, diversions that do not involve showing yourself. No remarks.

Wolf of the Falls : 2/10
Chance of making it past 750 men with potentially more beyond the horizon is unlikely. Method creates easy to follow tracks. Ploughing through the forces in this manner could cause injury among the soldiers, making their search for you and your protegees personal. Chance to survive is almost non-existant.

Insanity within the Falls : 8/10
Excellent diversion without showing yourself. Hiding in this manner might leave you unnoticed, but if the army does not move on the chance of having to choose between starvation or surrender might become a reality. A gamble.

Ranzu : 7/10
Creating a diversion in this manner creates a larger chance of being discovered, but if you pull it off the chances of escape are high.

The score on the screen only made Axel's eyes narrow silently thinking of just releasing his anger here and now impale everyone and everything and be done with it. But before he could the man told them there was more and to get going. Axel got up moving past them before looking back at the man who showed up. "Hold them under the mud... Good to know."

He let the words echo in the small space before going through Door 6 rather than killing the people around. his awareness would stay keenly on his surroundings taking care to look around the door and the room that he entered to beware of traps.

Shiki grinned as he saw his grade. Reaching down and grabbing his smiley face sticker he put it on his headband. Shiki realized that by calling him out in front of the rest of the competitors might have put a huge target on his back. Shiki hoped whatever he earned out of this first door would be enough to compensate for that. Looking over at the rest of the group he gathered his belongings and made his way towards the first door that he was designated to go.

Once he saw his score, Yamato let out a sigh of relief. Sure he wasn't in first place, but second was a good compromise. Seeing someone next to him walk towards his designated door, Yamato decided to do the same. Pushing himself up from his desk, he made his way towards the door with a two on it. The past few tests had involved writing in it, and he wondered if the next one would as well. Only time would tell.

Watching the others check for their score, Pax followed and shrugged. Fourth place wasn't a bummer to him, even last place wasn't if he was unlucky enough to get that. Words and thoughts could all be misconstrued and turned around on the person who spoke them. Pax was familiar with being degraded too, as the spewed off about alpha and beta, it reminded him of his brother. Even with a low test score he was positive he could come back from nothing. Being instructed into the fourth door, he went inside with high hopes for the next part of exams.

As it were, Rahael was not bred and taught be a leader but a follower, in all ways from command to duty. The exam fortified that for her, showed that she had 'failed' by almost fifty percent in showings of creativity and decision making as a platoon leader of any sorts. Lady Kage would be most disappointed... if she actually gave a damn. This was all on the fly as it were anyways.

With the scores up on the screen for the applicants to see and the director all but gutting the top two of the group. This got her thoughts turning, coming to several conclusions that got her looking back and forth between Shiki and Yamamoto. Directed to doors based entirely on their ranking made her wonder... it couldn't be a test of sending them to their weakpoints because two of them had virtually none but every test was hypothetical.

The doors might be random assignment to split them into groups of 3 to re-enact a survival test of sorts with doors 1 and 2 being the 'Captains' pitting their wits against one another. The only other idea she could come up with was simply being set loose and expecting to come up with something on the fly... all odds were against her less it came to combat.

She shined in combat.

With her pale eyes shielding her almost wounded pride she stepped up to her door and entered through it with her head down, waiting for the chakra and jutsu restriction to lift up.
