Shiki Stood 5 meters away from the meat. The courtyard was different there was piles of bricks, mortar and building lime. The contractors were going to be coming in soon to fix the devastation in the courtyard. There was an odd amount of activity in this normally peaceful and quiet courtyard. Shiki readied himself. His new chest rig clinging tightly to his body. Though Shiki missed the style and apparent flair of his cloak. He wanted to try wearing his new chest rig out. If fit snuggly against his body and had most the weight on the center of his chest. There were several pouches and Shiki left his knife on the sides. Shiki figured if he got in a tumble with someone and they were able to access his rig. Giving them quick access to his knife by his own neck seemed like a stupid idea.
Shiki quickly began to form his handseals. His arms felt weird without the weight of his cloak but the movements came naturally. Summoning up his Chakra Shiki pushed both of his hands outwards toward the piece of beef. Shiki cast the lightning from his body it snaked out light a cobra stretching outwards at the beef. It jumped out and grabbed hold of the raw meat. The tendrils of lightning ran through the electric rods in the meat. There was the smell of cooking meat as the smells wafted through the air. There was a lot of electricity coming out of Shiki’s hands but there wasn’t enough to give him that “kick” he wanted.
It was time to up that voltage. Shiki summoned forth more chakra as he molded it in his arms as lightning. The lightning picked up intensity coming forward out of his hands began to spark and arc through the air. Shiki redirected all this energy out of his fingertips. His arms coming alive as the chakra ran through his skin. The crackling smell of the meat getting sizzled and heated was an enticing reason to keep the jutsu active. Then Shiki’s mind went back to the bandit on his knees. The electricity striking his chest. The smell of burning skin and hair filled his mind and suddenly the smell of burning meat was sickening.
Shiki steadied his nerves. Now it was time to increase the distance. Shiki took a tentative step backwards and the stream of lightning began to falter. Shiki focused on the shape of the Chakra guiding the lightning further. Aiming not just at the target but beyond the target. Striking through the target. Shiki took another step backwards and continued to take steps further back. With every step Shiki got more and more lighting in order to keep the stream alive. Shiki took one last step back keeping him at 10 meters which seemed to be the limit of his Jutsu.
Finally, it was the last step of this training. Shiki put his hands together channeling the chakra between his two arms and pushing the lightning out as one single unit. Then he stopped allowing the lightning a way to escape from his hands. He let the only exit from his right hand. The intensity of lightning coming out of his right arm was amazing. It felt alive, burning and coursing with a pure energy lighting stream. Shiki was the battery, the meat was the receiver and his arm was the instrument of his energy. Shiki put his left arm down to his side only holding his right arm outwards. He had done it. He had made this Jutsu one handed.
