Inspire Competence
Rank: B
Skill: Ninjutsu, Instrumental
Effect: Increases dice roll chances by 5% for the bard and listener for the duration.
Special: Melody Hand Seals
Drawback: Does not work on rolls with outcomes other than "Success" or "Failure".
Description: The bard will use their instrument to play a melody both inspirational and empowering. This will boost the confidence of the bard and whoever might be listening to the song when it is played. If there is anything that they do that has a chance for success or failure then their is a slight increase (5%) in the possibility for them to succeed at what they do. This ability lasts for five post.
Limit: Art of the Bard, an Instrument
Sensing that perhaps he wasn’t putting enough enthusiasm into the melody, Zuruel decided to focus more on his song. Firstly, he decided to warm up his vocal cords by whistling a high-pitched melody. As the sound emanated throughout his apartment, he slowly and gradually switched to a much lower melody. His pitch then continually shifted from high and low pitches like a smooth wave. By doing so, he ensured that his vocal cords were being sufficiently warmed up.
Once complete, Zuruel moved over to his kitchen and filled a glass with water and a spoon full of salt. After taking a sip, he tilted his head back so that the water collected in the back of his throat. In this position, he gargled. Not only did this further help warm up his vocal cords, but the salt water solution also had the added bonus of destroying bacteria and easing his sore throat. Once this part of the training was complete, Zuruel whistled and took note of the fact that the action now felt easier and less strenuous.
Zuruel then moved on to playing around with the actual tune. Rather than forcing a melody, he conjured images of conquered missions and defeated foes in his mind. As he focused long and hard on these images, he then whistled in an attempt to express how he felt. This tune immediately inspired feelings of valour and confidence in him. He felt inspired and empowered. As these sensations washed over him, he reached for his coin once more. He felt as if he couldn’t possibly lose.
Notes: Being in the Training Area grants me +1 TP on all posts.
