Effect: This extraordinary special quality allows a creature to detect approaching enemies, sniff out hidden foes, and track by sense of smell.

Description: The creature can detect opponents within 10-meters by sense of smell. If the opponent is upwind, the range increases to 20-meters; if downwind, it drops to 5-meters. Strong scents, such as smoke or rotting garbage, can be detected at x2 the ranges noted above. Overpowering scents, such as skunk musk, can be detected at x3 normal range. When a creature detects a scent, the exact location of the source is not revealed—only its presence somewhere within range. The creature can take a movement to note the direction of the scent. Whenever the creature comes within 2-meters of the source, the creature pinpoints the source’s location. When finding Herbs and Animals (random), Scent may improve searching for them (must have Scent of object previously before searching). Learning "D" Rank allows the user to search for Common things, while "S" for Nearly Impossible. Each rank user learns increases chance of finding by 2% for the Rank of Herb, and increases per Rank thereafter. Example: At "S" Rank User gains 10% increase chance in finding Common Herbs and Animals but only 2% Increase for Nearly Impossible Herbs and Animals.

Limit: Must be an Animal, Fey, Monster, or Vermin. Innate Animal Jutsu.



Master was gone and had left the two of them to wander around freely in the city park. He was very clear as to what was and wasn't permitted. He was only allowed to do a few things that he was normally able to do inside this giant walled place. There were so many weird caves around with different type of people wandering in and out. This whole city smelled weird. There so many good things that were in the city to smell and eat of course. 

Fang... Thats what his name was now. It was a strange concept to have. There was no need for such things in the wild. There was only one thing that mattered and it was a title. A title that people used to justify themselves. It gave themselves some sort of purpose or meaning. Fang pondered the idea of these titles for a long time. There were so many other titles. Titles that gave men meaning. 

For instance one man called himself smith. But he was smith not because he was named smith. But because he did the job of a smith. Humans had weak bodies. Their claws and fangs were so short. But they were smart. They made their own fangs and claws that they carried with them. Some of them were good with the claws that they made. The made a different tooth for different reasons. 

Some were long on pointy at the end. Like a tree branch with a long tooth at the end. The fang was like a stinger of a scorpion or a wasp. It was only used to poke. Some of them had short little fangs that they kept hidden away tucked into their clothing. Clothing was a strange thing as well. The humans had very little hair and it was obvious that it was insufficient enough to keep them warm.

Some of them seemed to wear clothes for some weird reason. They wore clothing to protect themselves from being seen. It was like they were embarrassed of their natural skin. Fang thought about it for a moment and gave a small snicker as he tried to visualize what a dire wolf would look like without fur. Fang sat there in the park and just smelled the city for a few more moments. Thoughts aside what else was around here.

There was a short moment where she was alone. This normally didn't bother her so much but it was the first week she had been away from her pack. She was used to constantly being around her family. But here out in the woods it was just her and her new pack members. Master was out doing his own thing. Frostbite howled out to the city. She was so lonely. She looked around and saw fang prancing back and forwards taking in the sights and smells of this new place. 

Her ears shot up in curiosity. She looked around and started to sniff the air as she looked around the park. Wandering up to fang she got ready to jump into whatever adventure the two of them were getting into. Taking a small trot over to him she put her snout into the air and began to breath in deeply trying to catch all the scents that were inside the city. She paused as she tried identify all these new smells in the city.

She could smell the humans walking among the city in a huge crowd. Humans were by far the most intriguing people to observe in the area. They behaved and acted so strange with on another that the whole thing between how they acted with one another was just odd to behold. Especially since Frostbite really didn't have to compare it too. From what she could gather humans lived in packs too. 

But their packs were much different. They had so many more people in their packs. They were like an ant hill. Hundreds and thousands of them all living inside of a giant mountain. They all considered themselves on the same level of status for the most part. At least in terms of how people acted or reacted. There was only so much a person could do on their own though. They carried strange bits and bobbles to increase their status.

Some of them wore bright shiny stones on their paws and heads that made them seem more distinguished. That's like when a bird would decorate their nest their nest with petals or flowers. But these stones weren't normal rocks. They were shiny and sparkled in the light. There were so many strange ways that they acted. Fang stretched and looked off toward the city. She was getting ready to get back hunting out some scents.

Fang and Frost bite started the slow walk down the hill from Shiki's courtyard and started to move about the city. Just as their master had ordered they had to wear a dark blue cloth around their necks that had the seal of the mountain city that they lived in. Fang was pretty sure that this village was called the cloud village because it was so high that it seemed to kiss the very clouds themselves. Fang looked downwards as he moved.

Frostbite disagreed with the name of the village. She heard the strange humans bark the name Kumogakure back and forwards a lot. The name meant Village hidden in the clouds. There were so many strange names that these humans had. Just learning what all these strange things meant was odd. Let alone what they did or how to react around some of them. There was so much that the two of them had to learn about just to understand life around here. 

When master had showed them how lights and electricity worked it was a strange thing in and off themselves. The two of them started walking down the hill keeping their snouts in the air inhaling the scents of the surrounding village. The decided that they were going to go check out the first interesting scent they came across. This scent just happened to be the smell of a local restaurant. The warm, wafting scents of cooking meats and spices brought the dire wolves down to go see them.

Walking along through an alley way the direwolves felt a sense of pride as the scared citizens moved out of the way into the open forum. Many of the citizens backed away slowly but a few stood in wonder. Shiki's direwolves were causing quite the commotion. After a short while they noticed the Kumogakure ninja head bands on the dog and more importantly the sigil of House Senri on their collars. Many of the citizens upon recognizing it started looking less in fear and more in wonder. 

Paying them little attention the two kept walking. They were used to this of course. There were Alphas of their respective packs of course and used to be treated with some level of reverence. They trotted up into the restaurant where a very scared hostest started to shoe them out. Paying her no mind they followed their noses into the kitchen and started to prowl around for the smells that were haunting them. The waitress frowned in dismay when the two wolves started to eat food out of the kitchen. Sighing she started to write Shiki a bill.

The two of them got to eating through pounds and pounds of salted and spiced meats. Fang was busy literally ripping an entire side of beef down from the side of a meat hook. The moment fang sunk his teeth into the beef he began to start ripping the animal apart. The humans kept the meat so cold in this room. The direwolves under stood this of course. When they killed an animal in the snow the creature was then kept in the snow to keep it frozen to prevent the decay of the animal. The dire wolves were rather impressed that the humans were able to control the weather here. 

As the two of them literally continued to keep smelling in the air in the kitchen as they ate.
