Shiki took in another deep scent from one of the pine tree’s that was nearby. The first is the smell of the pine tree's needles and sap. This is a woody, sharp and resinous smell that is intense. Shiki loved how the scent of pine trees seemed to coat everything with their intense smell. Growing up in the mountainous terrain of Kumogakure Shiki had a soft spot in his heart for pine trees.
Shiki loved how the woods smelled. The forest right after rain. The rainforest smells fresh and alive. The dead leaves covering the floor give a smell of wetness. Each tree or plant has its own smell, but these blend together to give the rainforest a green smell. The forest can also be noted for its lack of some smells. One does not smell pollution or smog; there is just clear, fresh air. Shiki was out here away from the scents of campfire and shops.
Here way out in the middle of nowhere it was just him and the company of the people he enjoyed being around, Sure Loki could be a bit troublesome. But she kept Shiki guessing. In his world where he constantly wanted perfect order and balance she was able to keep him moving in and out of his lane. Shiki wasn’t sure where the attraction came from but it was definitely there. Wasn’t falling for a woman who was unpredictable part of the problem last time?
Shiki caught the scents of another breath of wind. Her scent was carried with it which didn’t help him try and keep his mind clear. Shiki couldn’t help but catch a glimpse of her as she continued to play with her rocks. She was different from the twins… Both of them lived in a state of chaos. But the twins were simply along for the ride. They struggled to keep order in and of themselves. Loki… She controlled this disorder. She found a way to everything find a balance.
Shiki wasn’t sure what this meant in the larger scheme of things. But as of right now he was captivated to understand her. He wasn’t sure if it had any romantic aspirations with her. Nor did he think he should yet for a while. He would need to make sure that he wasn’t rushing into things anymore. He needed to make sure that he wasn’t going to be set up to be hurt again. Shiki paused as that same scents continued to assail him.
