An apocalypse level event sounds about right. These strange goings on where becoming a rather regular event, every other year something of this nature would occur around Halloween. It was certainly becoming quite the inconvenience; however, one had to make the best of situations like this, and The Village Hidden in the Mist certain strove to do so. These events served as a sort of training exercise, a way of testing the ninja that called the village their home, Yoko was no exception to this rule. In fact, she planned to test out a new Jutsu on these foul creatures of the night.
She pressed her soft lips against the cold metal flute that she had recently acquired, while still quite a novice at the whole affair she had been informed that you could substitute a musical item for hand seals, using the flute as a conduit she channelled her chakra into the instrument. Her deft fingers ambled across the flute, producing a gentle melody; it served no real purpose, there was no hidden incantation placed into the notes, the zombies wouldn’t suddenly explode, a genjutsu was not going to activate either. Instead, she simply wanted to test whether or not she could make her notes hold meaning.
It seemed that by forming a particular note that she could mould the chakra in a certain way, in much the same way that a hand seal worked. Blowing again into the tool the young ninja attempted to reproduce the effects of the monkey hand seal. A G note should do the trick, or at least that is what she initially believed. As the note resonated through the air, she took note of how her chakra felt, a rather arduous task considering she lacked a doujutsu like the Sharingan. However even with her rather limited knowledge, she was able to sense that the technique was not having the effect she had intended.
Pondering for a moment, she thought the chakra inside her was raging, rather like the effects of a fire Jutsu. Working of this same line of logic she would hazard a guess that this was in fact, the Tiger seal, or at least its musical counterpart. Of course, she had no real way of confirming her suspicions, as she didn’t actually know any elemental techniques herself, but she knew that the fire techniques often involved the Tiger seal. Pausing again, she decided that the best way to figure this whole thing out was to go through the notes one by one and make a mental note of which hand seals they represented.
The whole process was of course slow by the lack of an instructor, someone who actually knew the way the notes functioned could potentially just tell her. However, Yoko was of the opinion that if she learned the technique the hard way she would be able to recall it with a greater sense of clarity when needed. That and the fact that most ninjas were out fighting the undead. The young ninja eyed one of the creatures, it was approximately seventy metres from her, right by a tree. It did not seem to be aware of her, apparently the music could not carry that far, however, if she had her way, Yoko would eventually learn how to form a blade of sound capable of cutting the abomination in half much akin to a wind technique.
Name: Enchanting Melody
Rank: C, B, A
Skill: Ninjutsu, Supplementary
Effect: Allows the user to use a ninjutsu or genjutsu with singing or an instrument as a medium.

Drawback: Must be learned multiple times.
