The battle was over before it even truly began. Not that Parvati cared in the slightest;there would be plenty of time to rigorously break in this body during battle. Besides, combating lowly thralls with her bare hands was well beneath the royalties of a goddess. Overall, the quick paced battle gave her the opportunity to observe her raid companions in action, felling the large cursed beast and the unintelligent thralls which had emerged from its gaping jaws with ease. It was clear Parvati was surrounded by high levels of talent, which was all the more reason for her to keep her true intentions concealed.
Parvati listened to both Heather and Rael, not necessarily agreeing with the latter in his assessment Rusovia. Tactically, it made sense; however, in her vast experience, ego and pride had a tendency of peaking their ugly heads when they shouldn't. When an individual fancied themselves the most powerful being on the earth, they tended to set traps and send whatever minions they had at their disposal to weaken the threat, and then attack them full force when and if they reached the end game. Knowing this, Parvati was more than willing to allow the others to expend energy and chakra in the events leading up to the eventual confrontation with Rusovia, all in order to gain what she ultimately wanted from Rusovia. More power.
Gunnr scanned the are ahead and sighed. It didn't seem as if there was anything in the way of traps, or ambushes up ahead. She would then begin to Lower her cloud closer to the ground. It would seem that they had finished off the little unworthy beasts, as she had expected they would, although she would be lying if she didn't say she was hoping for Rael to get at least a little injured in the process. Gunnr sighed as she sat on her cloud above Heather and then said, "I've scouted up ahead about 800 meters. There is nothing in the way of traps or ambushes waiting for us. Though the terrain is a bit... well you'll see for yourselves soon enough."
Gunnr still sitting on her cloud would begin to float back higher into the air. As she went back up looked down and then said, "Although there were no sightings of ambushes or traps, that doesn't mean the situation won't change. Keep your eyes open and your wits about you. I will continue to scout our path forward as best I can." She would flap her wings and then as she did so the cloud that she sat on would dissipate. She would continue to scout on ahead to make sure nothing caught the group off guard like that giant grub. Her eyes would cast over the path that lay before them, even if their enemy was invisible that would not be able to escape her glare.
Part of her was doing this to help the group sure, but the other part, was doing this so she would be able to get first dibs on what every may lay ahead. Her Wing flapped through the sky as she circled the group waiting for them to move on. There was no need in trying to be subtle anymore, if they didn't know they were here, they surely knew now with the way they had just disposed of the worm and it's minions. So Gunnr would continue to scan the area in front of her. She would make sure that if there was anything to see, she would be the first one to do so.

The Jonin left nothing but blood, and chunks of flesh in his wake as he blended his way across the giant chasm and to solid ground once again. Koori eased up, now knowing good and well he was no longer at risk of free falling to death off a bridge. He exhaled heavily. Cutting up thrall was tiring work for an older man. He didn't waste time sheathing his swords however. The Jonin was well aware the enemy was aware of them now.
Koori felt a hand on his shoulder and almost jumped out of his skin. He peered over his shoulder and saw it was only Heather patting him on the back and telling him he did a good job, with Gunnr in tow over head. Obviously "he did well", had he not he'd probably be dead, he thought. He nodded towards heather and twitched his shoulder to get her hand off of him. Gunnr had evidently scouted out ahead for the group, and noted there were no ambushes or traps ahead with her special eyes.
While this eased Koori a bit, he still wasn't exactly calm. IF the way was indeed clear, then perhaps the only way to go from here was forward. Atleast they couldn't (or shouldn't, anyway) be caught off guard this time around for whatever this witch was going to throw their way. The jonin took the lead, if only briefly walking forward before turning back towards the group.
"Well, we've more wyrms then that to kill I bet. Lets keep going."
Post by An'ei Sekitan on Mar 17, 2017 13:27:56 GMT -7
The Wyrm had been destroyed in an impressive display of his power, although not quite the full extent of his unnatural force. What could these others be thinking? As the beast imploded and then exploded, all thanks to the two sweeps of his blade, Houkou paid it no mind at all, his back to the explosion of flesh and gore. Blade sheathed, he walked amongst the thralls, delivering power-packed punches and kicks to those that got in his way, or even came too close, but gave it very little attention; not to say he was not always alert however. His eye fell on the Hyuga girl in particular, watching as the shadows melted from around her form, gazing at everything all at once. Konoha…they deserved death a thousand times over. Killing two of their Kage was not nearly enough, for they did not know him, and they did not fear him as they should. They would know him again, but…perhaps not yet.
Houkou stalked his way back to the bridge, leaping up by utilizing various outcroppings and a small bit of chakra, catching up to the group rather quickly as they other Konoha trash was laughing out loud at a joke nobody knew. Now he knew where the darkened mood was coming from, from the fact that the Wyrm had been so weak, and the fact that this kid’s laugh and face annoyed him. “I was unaware the weak found sound joy in the world,” Houkou would say as he passed the boy, Rael was his name, “perhaps if you took life a bit more serious, you could be stronger.” Walking by, he would stop a short ways passed Sayuri, tapping his chin as Sekizen stepped up next to him, the huge Worg gnawing on an arm from one of the thrall. “I’m going to stay out of the next altercation. I want to see what the rest of you can do, now that you’ve seen what I can do. Show me when that time comes.” He reached into his jacket, pulling out a pack of cigarettes and taking one from the pack, placing the pack back in the jacket and then lighting the cigarette.
Inhaling a bit and then blowing out smoke rings, Houkou continued to move forward, putting his hands in his pockets, the wind playing with the white fur on the collar and hood of the jacket, as well as the white hair on his head. The old man, Koori, was taking point with his charge, Gunnr. Heather was a short distance behind with Axel, the wire wolf thing, and last were the others, Rael, Sayuri, and that Spectre individual. After crossing the bridge, he would wait for the others off to the side, allowing them to pass him while he pet Sekizen absentmindedly on the head, scratching behind his partners enormous ears to the rhythmic sound of the beast’s panting. Wonder what Ko is doing? Hope that girl hasn’t gotten herself in trouble without me. Once everyone was passed, Houkou would push himself from the rock he was propped against, following behind and taking up the rear position for now. There was no point in deactivating the Sharingan while they were in this deep, so he allowed it to remain active as he walked. It would be good to know when they were lying and telling the truth, as well as see their movements. Plus Rusovia had some interesting Genjutsu that he would not want to fall prey to.

Spectre watched as the remaining thralls were carved up either by the power houses of this group or were vanished in the fog that he had summoned his army into. As suddenly as his summoned had came they disappeared. He even cut off his chakra to the fog so it could fade naturally. With a sigh that Houkou had chosen to be behind him, Kuroki moved on at a slow pace.
Kuroki shrugged to himself that Houkou was up to some trouble if he wanted to be near Spectre's spot behind the main group. He kept to and guarded the rear for the simple purpose as no not affect his allies with his un-luck. But eh it was his funeral when it came to that, not his problem. But the observations of the weakling of the leaf had some merit, they were probably being spied upon. Not much did Kuroki say for now there wasn't much to say.

Post 1 of 2 "Inception" Once again the group shall find themselves heading further. The first trip by now can be considered a warm up. The journey ahead has much more to behold they can be sure of that. When and where? That a part of the puzzle they need to figure out themselves. Guesstimations are not far off the wall though. A solution to a matter can be taken in many contexts especially with this many minds wandering to and fro. Not necessarily together though. That as well is to be expected, and isn't much of a set back unless proved otherwise. So far. They had done well enough. So far...
Heather analyzed the moment. some having choice words after such an ordeal crossed their paths. Rael's words turning some gears in her head, but it left a bad taste in her mouth to think of the way he laughed about it. He may be into this sort of spiritual stuff, but Heather very much isn't a fan of it. Her opinions are biased to begin with, and the high death totals she has had to consider countless times doesn't help. Regardless she is happy to know a select few went ahead, and kept the agenda in mind. Although Rael's statements did have her thinking about something sure enough...
"Even if your weird grins rub me the wrong why. I can't deny that your speculations do make some amount of sense. Still I hope for the best, that we'll put this in our favor. Even if they are spying on us; they can't be allowed to make more threshold obviously. Do what you must Rael; your observation is as needed as anyone else." She mentioned. That is all she said though in regards to that, as she wanted to move on with other matters. Such as taking note of what everyone else including Houkou said.
The status report from Gunnr let her thoughts expand on the situation. She expected the next path to seem relatively sound so being notified of such only confirmed her speculations. But that is exactly what worries her. "I thank you Gunnr for your forward planning, this helps cover a lot in such a rushed amount of time I assure you." She said before going back to her quick brainstorming. It seemed her team organization did what it is supposed to.
She followed Koori as he began pushing forward, and she appreciated that. At least they weren't getting bogged down like last time. Houkou's words on how he'd address the next conflict concerned her yes, but there was no time to bicker on trivial matters. Its his right to do so anyway. Nevertheless they shall push on to the next area as they did before.

Act 1 Chapter 2: What doesn't hurt you, Kills you later.
Section Left: SnowCap Pass, Snowcap Chasm Crossing Section Entered: Polar Flatlands (Condemned) Territory Control: Minions of the Damned Level of Difficulty: Moderate Enemy Types to Expect: Wild Life (Condemned), Followers of Rusovia, Natural Hazards Section Lore Obtained?: No Hidden Lore Found?: No Unique Personnel Found in last Section: Rift Worm, Thrall Section Boss: Aktul The land ahead, as Gunnr hinted is something they all needed to witness themselves. Rael with his ghost eyes will be able to notice that the necromanic aura from before although not as strong anymore. Is now in a vast influence within many parts of the destroyed nature life around them. The grass around here is now not only layered with snow, but is now swept over with ash. This can be seen due to the snow that should be covering most of the ground having been melted down to the smallest particle by some kind of energy force. These seem to scale in a way as if some kind of wave burned away the land in different areas. All at random. No really care for organization as long as most of the and was not covered in snow.
With further observation from anyone, they could tell these things. Those with some deeper outlook in that skill will be able to see the abnormal footprints hidden within these burns. Signs of animals scurrying in a panic sure, but the big deal is the abnormal ones. Some seem to match a four legged creature, some match bipeds of some sort. However a clue is present. Near a large charred boulder is a footprint the group should find to be familiar. Those with much better observation will be able to remember that this is the exact same mark style that the picture had from the portfolio. This one is very much somewhat fresh meaning it was probably made only a few days ago within the week.
The boulder itself besides being rather tainted with a dark green aura that even Kuroki and Rael can see. Those with chakra enhanced eyes such as the Sharigan or Byakugan will be able to see it just as clearly. Those who don't have either, will only see it as dark steam emitting over the charred layer. The biggest thing about this though is the symbol that was placed on it. The symbol itself is completely non-understandable. No words or hieroglyphics either to decipher. But damn well the group can easily know why and how it is here. If it wasn't obvious earlier there is a bit more than burn marks that tells the tale.
The flower patches here are also tampered with. Someone sparred them no mercy in completely destroying those while the work was done here. However the more colorful and easily spotted flowers are left completely unharmed and no spiritual auras, or energy signals around it. Odd all on its own, but that isn't it. Some sprays of blood were also present. Most likely from the animals that tried to escape. There is no decay to be seen as whatever was killed can be guessed to have been taken for food maybe. This being said cause there were skeletal remains of animals such as bears, deer, or and even coyotes that looked to have been literally melted to the bone. So other than a few ribs or skulls, everything else was either charred, ash, or destroyed.
The trees were either fallen over, burnt, or leaves as all of the tree that survived the massacre had their leaves fallen from the curse auras. The group as it was, can be deemed safe from any negative effects. The gravity as is completely normal as well. But in short those who look into it can see. They have no care for anything that gets in their path. Why do such a thing to not only the wildlife, but the land? And what they are doing it for? Up to them to decipher as they venture through it. Heather although from any point someone eyes here is not happy about what she sees here. Especially the marking on that boulder. Its new to even her.
She doesn't remember seeing it the last time she followed Rusovia's tracks. This by far, is worrying. "This area used to be very beautiful and one of the scarce regions that didn't remind you of the snowed over land you live in. It brought joy to many people that walked through it. And now...its scarred for miles..." She'd say flatly when they got near the boulder. The next 800 meters will look all the same to Gunnr and anyone else that can see that far. Although in the distance, that weather bending distraction can look to be somewhat bigger. The first cursed zone was up ahead some miles out. They were getting ever more closer to the danger.
Or...is it getting closer to them? A campsite was up ahead past that boulder, and down the hill they'd be standing on. But the sign that marked the sites name was scratched out by something, along with a human skull piked in it with a wooden spear. A large blood trail painted the ground and led to said human who's skeleton was left there as a "Keep Out Sign" reference. The same symbol on that boulder would be on this human's back, except smaller. The body was thrown like trash some meters to the right of the bloody skeleton. It looked to have happen some days ago as everything was dry. The deadman's corps looked to have been some poor tourist as he wasn't wearing anything a Yuki citizen would as he wasn't charred away like the animals corpses from before.
His skeleton by the looks of it; was ripped clean out of his body and hung up for decoration. Whoever did this wanted to make their point clear. This area belonged to them... That much could be told by the vast amount of murder the campsite will show. Dead bodies all over the place. However there were survivors. Well not so much as survivors, but instead people who must have went on a long supplies, only to come back to find devastation.
They at the moment would be tasks to cleaning up the bodies. Placing them all in a ditch they made. Everything salvageable was taken by the same monsters that did everything else. The seven people that were here would not notice the group from where they were unless they passed through the camp and acquired they attention themselves. They were too busy trying to find whatever they could to take with them... They are lucky to have not been here. Whom that massacred these people made damn sure that they were killed. Some of them being rid of their skeletons as well. Pinned up on the various tents around. Not exactly a very pretty sight at all.

It was always a joyous moment when people belittled Rael, unaware of the workings of his masochistic mind. Stopping in his tracks from the brief walk, Rael turned his attention towards the snarky comment. Rael knew he was weak, but everyone started out that way. He chuckled softly at Houkou's comment, seeing the obvious distaste for Rael. "My, my! Isn't the brute talkative now!" Rael gave a pause, observing the more dominant physical physique before him. The sleeveless garb finely enhanced the well endowed structured muscles, defined from what Rael guessed was years of physical conditioning. This man was someone who could easily kill him with ease in a moments thought. Snapping his attention back to the conversation, he began to speak once more. "But everyone is born weak, only going through paths and trials may they gain power, or your so called strength. My path is only beginning now." Rael gave another twisted grin towards the Uchiha, before returning his attention to their caretaker, Heather.
Rael kept on chuckling at the comment about his grin. It was always a good day when people were unnerved by him, which only made Rael grin even more, showing a bit of teeth. Rael knew no one would take heed to his speculations. It will not be his fault when they get decimated from showing off on such weak minions. But it was curious to hear that Heather somewhat agreed with him, which surprised Rael immensely, since most try to stray from his agreements at all cost. 'The burden of being mistrusted.' A faux mental sigh spread through Rael's mind at such a thing, but shrugged it off with ease. Rael continued his trek, ignoring the rest of the crew, who all distrusted him in some shape or form.
In the brief amount of traveling they did, Rael saw wisps of dark energy withering about the landscape. The slight forestry around them were all tainted, malformed, destroyed, or all of the above. A slight breeze filled the air, allowing traces of ash to be picked up. Coughing at the intrusion in his lungs, he bent down to observe the aftermath. Everything was burned as well, and what it seemed for quite a distance as well. This didn't seem like the work of a necromancer, but something else. Rael stood up straight once more, and began talking loud enough for Heather to hear, "I do say, dear Heather, that Rusovia isn't near by. But what could her more adept minions do? Hmm? This land you seem fond of, its decimated completely. Dark energy radiates every so often over certain tracks and just sparse in general. Some things are untouched while other things are tainted quite a bit. It seems like the curse has inflicted more animals and the malformed environment indicates that as well. Unless..." Rael paused to only gesture at the razed lands, " something else did this." Rael stopped in his ranting and saw an aura radiate brightly over one of the tracks. "Oh, what could cause such malefic track in the snow?" Rael did not want to admit, but his mind was not entirely on the briefing when Heather explained to them what was happening, he only registered parts and bits of the information. "And that mark, on the charred earth, what does it mean? Is it something we should escape from if it is a ritual mark?" Rael was rather skeptical now, seeing such mark, he refused to go near it, in case it was imbued with such a ritual.

Kuroki looked over the tainted land with spiritual eyes. He could see the auras of chakra that over laid the land. These were not good omens for as they defiled the earth, it seemed this cursed power grows. Ironically though the pretty flowers were untouched, this was curious to Kuroki. Was there a soft spot for the cursed wielders? That would be answered or not in time. That curious thing time which seems to be on the opposing side for now.
Even the gruesome displays in the camp ground affected the almost dead Spectre. He looked on with hallowed eyes keeping his own consul. He was a silent shadow at the back of the group, they were in enemy territory now. So his mentality reflected such, shadows still gripped at him from his earlier casting of a shadowy aura. Literally a foot around him was entrenched in shadow. It seems to Kuroki though that its not just him that plays with fire, for it was definitely fire that caused some of this damage.
At the footprint, Kuroki bent down to take a closer look. His memory wasn't perfect but it matched one of the drawings they had seen in the files. Looking closer around the burn marks had foot prints in them. This was curious, so one of the greater minions not only used fire but walks with fire's touch. So far these Necromancer's servants are not in touch with the spiritual realm but use it. Odd this is to someone as connected as Kuroki.
Spectre had some tracking knowledge, he would guess less than a week this trail was made. He wasn't a great tracker by any means but a trail so clear, meant they wanted whoever to catch up. "Trail that way. Week old at most." He pointed in the general direction the foot prints lead to. The suffering of the campers an issue for someone else with more empathy than he had.

Koori led the group forth and through the caverns before they stumbled upon a large and mostly open area. There was little to now snow here. Vegetation grew here, even peacefully it seemed. The Jonin had no idea a place like this existed in Yuki. It was eerily beautiful, quiet, yet you could feel something dark in the air, pressing almost.
But the beauty was short lived. Human remains and skeletons stay hanged in the distance. It was clear Koori and crew were not the first visitors here. The Jonin felt sorry for those that died here. It seemed quite a horrific death. Still grasping his two swords, the old shinobi paced throughout the slaughter, looking for clues.
He had but only a few moments to do so before Kuroki pointed out a trail. Rather than going aimlessly down the aforementioned path, Koori thought it best (oddly enough) to delegate to the group on this one.
"What do you think? Could be a trap."
The Jonin gave as he looked towards the words intended target, Heather. The Jonin thought it was best to come up with a plan of action for this path, perhaps send clones down it first. As much as he knew the group was capable, he didn't want himself or more importantly Gunnr to end up like one of those skeletons.

While the remnants were clawing and tugging at the wires of the Lycan it simply looked at them before letting the wires they were pulling at go free snapping through them from the tension before it shifted down to its previous form following the other half out of the gorge. The crimson eyes found the valkyrie and followed along now more bored rather than tensed. After following the group further they came across the camp but Axel would move to where Gunnr was and quietly wait while glancing around.

A lot was going on here from what Houkou could see, although none of it truly concerned him, because they dead were dead and that was all there was to it. Well, except maybe in his case. Looking over at Sekizen, he nodded to the huge Worg, and watched as he bound away sniffing the earth and bodies as he came to them, or rather what was left of them. Waiting on Sekizen’s report, Houkou watched as Kuroki examined the print, noting that he would not have to do so as it was being handled. Instead, he turned his attention away from the boulder and print, heading down to the camp instead. He was not surprised to see people picking over the remains, searching for valuables, filthy looters were like roaches.
“You only get to keep what you kill…” Houkou would call out to the looters, passing by the sign and pushing the skeleton away from with the sheath of his blade. As he walked up slowly, the wolfish grin crept to his face once more, hoping that a fight might just break out. He was annoyed at that boy earlier and wished to take his steam out on something living. Sekizen padded up next to him, delivering a report about what he smelled, although Houkou knew it would not be anything of extreme importance, yet he listened regardless. Additionally, he kept his eyes peeled for others that may be around the camp in hiding, in case this was an ambush, sniffing the air himself as well. Stopping thirty meters from the looters, well within his range, he waited for them to answer him. Sekizen was growling lowly from his side while the Sharingan blazed freely in his eyes.

Return to ash in the end The last breath is so sweet A beginning in a world of light Darkness as bright as day
Post 1 of 1 "No Time to Waste on the Dead." It is safe to say, that Heather had deep feelings internally which conflicted with how she carried herself. Expression wise, she looked to have a leveled head. Although a returning sensation crept into her thoughts. She was strong enough to ignore it for now. Her hearing tuning in to what Rael was saying. As he went on, she thought about possible clues from her memory of the past, along with current information. Something to grant an edge of this blind walk, getting closer to enemy territory. There was not a single second, Heather wasn't considering the curse was a cause of this. No. She knew. It had to be something else. Something she hasn't seen in person yet.
The print made in the snow, is where she found a good lead, on the subject. Pleased the more people seemed to add in on their views of the matter. In no time they might actually get further than what they already have. "I do not know this marking in particular. Possibly new as I don't believe it has been used in the past. Although based on the evidence here...I have a feeling this is definitely the work of one of Rusovia's more prominent beings. Something more aware of what it can do. And if these tracks are as somewhat fresh as you say they are Wraithfire, then I can certainly bet that Rusovia is making quicker moves as we speak if she is willing to send people all the way out here..." She then said.
As for Sekiken's sniffing he'd find that any scent he gathered was similar in some ways. Strong, crude, almost undefinable to something other than odd and deathish. If a being could smell a curse, this was it. He'd also now know that Wraithfire is indeed right about the direction of the prints.
The keep out sign style massacre is far more severe than most incidents from before now. Normally any casualties documented, are from people who have ventured out into the dangerous zones, and or loose corrupted creatures that make it into populated areas. But this...this was no mere coincidence, or act of keeping people away. Whoever did this, meant to kill these people in such a manner. That enough angered Heather wanting to figure out where her blade shall be cast this very second.
The traveling was made short at the moment. Heather's spiritual energy from as far as anyone capable could see, would be blaring uncontrollably. Like an aggressive flame seeking to burn everything away to dust. Her boots, making deeper prints into the ground than they really should, as she pushed onward, her hand tightly clenched to her sides ready to attack when prompted to do so. When sight was placed upon the ravaged camp, Koori's question thankfully made it through to Heather's sense of judgment before she shook someone to death or something...
"We won't have time to assess this properly. Keep a wide spacing between yourselves and don't trust anything. There is only one question I need from them anyway. We won't be here long." She mentioned flatly. Houkou's could catch the aura remaining on everything that had been physically effected. Although somewhere in the very distance. He would notice a tall, faded figure holding a bright blueish energy in between its hands. Floating across the land for only three seconds before fading away. Something obviously different and most likely tied to the curse.
The scavenging people would be startled from his comment alone. Sekiken only being able to sniff the same scents for earlier except much easier. He'd be able to full capture the scent though and would be bale to mark the trail ahead as the correct way to go if they wanted to find the killer. Which prevents Heather from having to ask about if these people noticed anything.
With her strength she would be able to activate her own visual prowess now, and see everything except the faded figure that had already passed to and from this area. Looking hard, but not finding anything worth looking at anymore. In the end she grumbled and deactivated her special eyes to carry on. "You all heard the man, MOVE IT! You aren't welcome here anymore. Its too dangerous and too late to be looting now! Make haste, and head for civilization unless you want to meet the same fate as the dead!" She said, harshly. Frustrated by this predicament. And making sure all seven of the looters began to leave. At least before turning her focus to her own group. "Come on team, there is nothing here for us. We need to get more ground on this situation before whoever did this does it again."

Wraithfire looked around him at the lands around and wondered why his curse sense isn't tingling more. But that was another mystery, but somebody was definitely playing dark magic as he fell toward the back of the group. He was maintaining separation for other people's sake. His aura was not that good for others. Even allies are affected by his bad luck, but that wasn't why he was here.
He was here to cleanse the land of this curse and maybe find more information on how to better control his. But before he moved on with the rest of the group he renewed his soul and shadow abilities. He controlled his internal temperatures and made it where he literally walked over the snow leaving not a trace. Now that they were in enemy territory he had performed a few hand seals concealed by his bulk and the shadows enveloped him. He literally was a dark area that extended any shadow around him. It helped him blend into the area around him.
Wraithfire was soon not to be seen but by the keenest of eyes. As no only the shadows blended him with his surroundings, his very skin reflected the area around him. He was like a chameleon. Of course though he was still incorporeal, for that was his best defense. Taking chances he was not, and these affects would last hours and would need very little to no chakra to maintain. His eyes glowed only momentary as they readjusted to the sight that his soul gave him. Invisible became visible to his eyes, and he saw even better through his shadows.

As the scavengers left Axel's gaze would shift around the site to the mark that the group leader had pointed out and quietly studied it for a moment before looking back up toward the path they would take forward. Without a word, the crimson Axel would run up along the path scouting ahead while the black version stayed back along with Gunnr and the rest of the group. As things were most of this seemed like a field trip and didnt concern him too much but he supposed this was expected with such a swollen group of heavy hitters. With a quiet yawn Axel would stretch before glancing at Gunnr, his back open if she wanted to store her wings.
Axel: A-3840/5500 Hime: C-710/750---Rey: C 610/750---Exccel: C 650/750
"Speak for yourself Leaf!" Gunnr snapped at Rael as she returned to the ground landing on top of Axel. "I had more strength in my body, and more conviction of spirit, during teething, then you currently possess. Dress it how you like. Your duplicitous nature, reveals how weak your body and soul are, and will remain. " Gunnr couldn't stay this little weasel, every word he spoke stunk of half truths, and deception. He could tell her the sky was blue, and she would believe to be red. Nothing out of his mouth was to be trusted. However, at the moment there were more important things to worry about. Seeing as the next 800 meters seem to be much of the same, it would be more helpful for Gunnr to focus her watchful gaze on what was immediately around them.
It would better serve to find the person or beast that had done this quickly. They may have clues to lead towards the real target of their quest. Gunnr's eyes were still blazing a holy light as the Revelation Judgment was still in effect. Not only did it enhance her observational abilities tremendously it also reveal what wished not to be seen. Invisible presences, the ethereal plane, and the spirits and creatures that dwell within it. All would be laid bare before. She would shuffle her little body on top of Axel's back as she scanned the area intently. There wasn't much the eyes of this little dragon would miss.
She did't pay much mind to the scavs, they were a common sight on battle fields throughout time, filthy unworthy vultures, but they may indeed have some valuable information. She would leave that to the adults, after all her father had warn her about talking to strangers. Although technically mostly everyone here was a stranger, that Rael person defiantly was and she had talked to him plenty. Hmmm, she would just have to make sure that Koori didn't tell on her.

Heather seemed shaky, but confident in her words to move forward. Staying relatively apart was ideal here and Koori agreed with her there. Gunnr seemed to be as troubling as ever with her exchanges. Her words would get the Jonin intp trouble one of these days, he felt. Koori would seem the scouting to the scouting experts and instead kept his hands on his swords and pressed forth with the rest of the group.
The scavengers were nothing more than common pick pockets or beggars, Koori cared little for them, although he did pity them. What a valueless life they lived. He kept his eyes peeled and his wits about him and moved with the group, even if slightly out in front. The wyrm was only just the beginning and Koori had a bad feeling about what this witch had in store for the team yet.
Some ways from here. Way too far for anyone to even be able to sense anything. Over here the enemy carried forth on their journey. Currently treading across much more rough landscape, with rocky hills, steep inclines, with a short mountain like section ahead of them. Here, they were vast in number. They all looked to be something nobody should have seen before. Ranging from bipeds to quadrupeds. Visually grotesque, gnarled, even some of them malformed in some way. And yet, there were organized. Traveling as a pack, under what some can redeem as an Alpha. The most decorated and easily distinguishable.
This creature would be clad in armor ranging in colors from blood red, cream, and grey. Decorated cloth, and heavily armed melee wise. A gladiator by all means. Despite this the creature looked to be naturally tough skinned. Similar to the Rift Worm from the hints of chitin plates around their body. With further observation one could speculate it to be the only creature of this group that somehow could be guessed to be female due to their overall figure. Although at the same time, they were also the most brutish looking.
In summary this creature wore a large helmet that covered their entire head and face. Decorated torso armour with bulky shoulder guards. The abdomen covered by black padding. The waist surrounded by a utility belt, thigh armour and knee high leg guards protecting those limbs from shins to slightly above the knee. Their feet were the most bare.
A dark brown layer of chitin that formed into a sharply designed foot that from a glance could match the format of the footprint seen in that charred landscape area. Other than this all four arms were also revealed until protected by armoured gloves. With that they had four holstered straight swords on their back. Two hilts exposed behind both shoulders.
The group will be to gaze upon them from at least 500 meters away when they exited the snow clearing. The closer they get, the bigger they actually are. Some of the creatures following the decorated beast leading them held different items. Ranging from a flag basked in red and labeled with the same symbol burned in that boulder. The others holding books and or torches while chanting some sort of spiritual passage. Aktul herself was by all means observant.
Stopping her entourage to gaze upon the landscape. Wanting to make sure there were no stragglers trying to spy on them. For those with the visual prowess they, would be treated to the sight of Aktul's spiritual aura burning at a level that is equal to an A Class Shinobi/Kunoichi. Tainted to be dark black, and blood red. Fueled with rage, and a lust for blood. Her bottom pair for arms loosely set on her hips as she was just waiting for something to dare to challenge her. She couldn't see the group from where they were. What were they to do?Aktul FC Reference

Heather as Koori puts it is, definitely shaky about it. The Rift Wyrm is one thing. One thing entirely that is all on its own compared to what this journey is leading to. Memories...coming back to her again. Trying to cloud her judgment. Wraithfire would be able to see Heather's spiritual presence grow stronger enough to burn away the corrupted auras trying to tease her.
Her own fears powerful enough to shield her at the same time as pain her. Although that doesn't matter. He should be intrigued mostly from the left over energy substance from the specter Houkou would have spotted before it phased through dimensions. The corpses eerily rid of any trace of soul energy. Completely dried up husks. What does this mean? Its up to him and anyone else capable to decide.
Gunnr through the look of the wind, could tell that lingering forces remained here. The pathway they took, however was completely clean as everyone should be able to tell. After all everything up until now has been charred, broken, or altered in some soft of ghastly or barbaric fashion. Heather for the most part has kept quiet for most of the travel as she started feeling past sins crawl up her spine. Something wasn't right about this. Her eyes. Couldn't see what though. In the end she left it alone, and focused on preserving chakra.
"We have entered the first Cursezone...I can feel it." She would announce to the group. The sky above indicating such by the unnatural fissure style of cloud storms brewing in a swirl above them. The sun blocked out by its cruelty. The land in this kind of condition looks like a hopeless wasteland. And it here...that they will meet their first real encounter with one of Rusovia's greats.
She would raise a hand to attempt to halt everyone. "Stop." She then said in case some where not paying attention. Gazing forward she stared only at Aktul whom was in the distance, acting as a sentry. "This obviously is where we take this more seriously if that hasn't already happened. Its safe to say we found who laid waste to this area." She mentioned. There is very little time to talk of course. In which she unsheathed her Tempest Blade, holding it firmly. "At this point, I don't care if those of you choose not to fight. We can't let this one do any more damage than they already have. Who is with me on this?" She then asked looking at everyone in the group individually. Abnormal Weather Reference

Where the light graced by the sun doesn't shine. Desolate to humanity. Yet rich in to the world of the unworldly. This resides beings that the world has not yet seen. A presence purposely hidden way from humanity, and embedded to the will of only a select view. Dark, Deathly songs plague the air with encrypted messages. Empowering the many that take residence beneath the surface. Thrall feeding on the bones of creatures they do not care to know. Stripping any left over flesh that hadn't yet been claimed.
In the open barren lands, Rift Wyrms crawl to and from. Transporting who knows what from place to place. Grotesque creatures of all sorts, whether birthed or created travel the crafted pathways. All doing the bidding of all sorts. However in a very specific space. A dark hand gently caresses a shining glowing orb. The orb shows a dim picture of a creature. Clad in armour. A familiar creature. One that has been seen before, and one that Rusovia is seemly fond of. In an airy, yet sweet voice. A tone of pure evil resides...
"Do not....fail me..."
