Name: Redi Shi "Minh"
Age: 21
Gender: Female
Desired Position: Moderator
Experience: Other than the months I was Assistant the very first time. I have currently been an Assistant since I was accepted: Sep 26, 2016 at 11:37am.
The ones who accepted me were: Kouchou, Usiel, and Solus in that order. Solus being my current Moderator Mentor. I have been active relatively everyday enough to answer PMs everyday. I have been helping new players learn the ropes anytime I am able to do so. In general I feel I been doing a lot better as a staff member than how I was early on.
Pros:
-- Most Members are very comfortable around me as it seems, and I have been able to defuse some heated conversations even without risk of it getting worse.
-- My activity sports being able to check nearly anything, and everything.
-- I am always open to hear both sides of a story, and make a fair wager on what needs to happen in a conflict.
-- I communicate well with other staff members, and give my honest opinion on staff matters.
-- I have enough experience to help cover other staff matters, and maintain a balance between member activity and inactivity. My point from this being that overall when most of staff was invisible I and probably a few others stayed on the ball to cover all staff requests given to be the best I can, instead of ignoring them or complaining about the tens to twenties of PMs I'd get each day.
Cons:
--I will admit I was given a 66% due to breaking Die Roll rules. I was caught by Usiel botching Universal Shop Die Rolls for a couple members, due to me wanting to be nice and give a little extra. In which I'd edit the roll range code beforehand so the changed die would be given a one no matter what. Both Usiel and Solus had talked to me about it during that time, and in general this is a HUGE upset, due to:
1.) Throwing dirt on the trust Usiel gives to even have my on the staff team.
2.) Embarrassing Solus, be having him have to even discipline me in the first place.
3.) Costing Usiel and Loki rare items that they otherwise should have never gotten hen they did
4.) Throwing dirt on the staff name as a whole and hurting myself by damaging trust.
In general I could have been removed from staff and probably banned from it who knows. But I wasn't. And that was because it was my first ever offense. And has been the last since then. I have never received a warning other than that time.
--In general, I am too nice at times. Sometimes I don't want to put my foot down, and try to look around it and find a better way while still getting the job done. In cases this actually helps, but in others it leaves me getting walked over or over looked which is not how a staff member should end up. Whether I am an assistant or moderator I need to learn how to be firmer with people sometimes. This much is very true.
--There are moments where I really derp on explanations of what same things on the site are which can cause issues, especially for new players. However I have been cleaning that up and lately its been looking better.
--Sometimes I can get distracted in the cbox and that can prolong when I need or want to post. Like for Loki's ATI (Epic) I was posting on time. But slowly got lazy, and then stopped. She had Y GM it, then he disappeared, so they asked me to come back and it was finished recently. I believe around a week ago from this post. So with that I don't need to procrastinate on important projects so I will need to practice ignoring chat and getting my fingers typing when I need to.
--In general I find that it can be common someone won't take me seriously, and that can cause me to become agitated very quickly. Normally I really don't say anything out of line, or anything at all for that matter, but I suppose this should be in here anyway.
