Kyodai watched as Minoru observed his work. As in a old habit that was probably formed when he was a child, Kyodai fell into a at ease kind of posture with his hands clasped before himself. It was a rest position before a superior Hyuuga. The young man before him seemed to be more at ease with branch members than most he was observing. He didn't know what the Main Branch member's game was but he was still suspicious.
"Pleasure to meet you Kyodai-san. I guess I can't call you Hyuuga-san since there are so many of us. Do you happen to be a medic shinobi who work outside the hospital?" inquired Minoru. It was a simple question and one he felt comfortable enough talking about. It stayed away from truly dangerous subjects. Even though he hadn't been mistreated he always knew he was a branch member.
Kyodai responded, "Sometimes, My main assignment is the Triage Care of the Crisis Clinic. But recently I have been assigned more outside the clinic to get a wider view of injuries. I am assigned to Tamako Hyuuga's group sometimes. Though currently one of them is assigned to Yuki no Kuni at the moment." His voice was less stiff since it was a comfortable subject but still fairly formal. His cynical thoughts were just that thoughts and were not reflected in his voice yet.
Kyodai was still a proud member of the clan but he grew up with the discord between various families of their shared clan. So far everyone including his father has had an agenda hidden from him. Though his eyes were every bit as good as any other Hyuuga, he was somehow less for being Branch. Though being honest with himself he needed to train more, especially in use of the battle forms of Byakugan.
His best qualities was details and efficiency. His system was more refined than most of his fellow Hyuuga especially other branch members who give up because they see the un-justice. But that had always made him more motivated to succeed in spite on his status. His cynical nature though has always been hidden behind his professional mask of doctorly concern and professionalism. Kyodai knew this in his heart of hearts whether it was true or not.

"Sometimes. My main assignment is the triage care of the Crisis Clinic. But recently I have been assigned more outside the clinic to get a wider view of injuries. I am assigned to Tamako Hyuuga's group sometimes. Though currently one of them is assigned to Yuki no Kuni at the moment." replied the other guy.
The male tried to grasp the tone of his voice. His activated byakugan would not allow him to see facial expressions. On the other hand, changes in heart beat plus muscle movements were fully visible. Minoru did however noticed that there was a change in the way Kyodai spoke. His brain kicked into action in an attempt to interpret the reply.
'Kyodai-san is still speaking in a more formal tone than an average person. But the flow of his voice is a bit more natural now. Or at least that's what it sounded like' recalled the young man. He looked a bit closer on his muscles. The ones in his shoulders appeared to be less tense.
'Looks like he's relaxed. Maybe I can try to delve a little deeper' decided the Chuunin. "You're a triage medic? Could you please tell me what kind of job that is? I sadly don't know that much about medic shinobis" admitted the male in an honest voice.
He looked down at his animal companion for a moment to see how she was doing. Shimoko was currently being held in the same way a baby would be hold. She had nearly closed her eyes while her muscles were at ease. His eyes then looked back up at the other guy. Not looking at the person you spoke to was a bit rude even if you had X-ray vision.

Keen-Eyes Rank: "C" Skill: Supplementary Effect: User has a keen eye for details. Special: --- Drawback: --- Description: User gains a +10 bonus to their Observation and Sense Motive Skills. If the user has 50 or more points in one of these skills, the bonus increases to +20 for that skill. Limit: Must learn from Universal Miscellaneous.
"You're a triage medic? Could you please tell me what kind of job that is? I sadly don't know that much about medic shinobis" admitted the Minoru in an honest voice. Kyodai observed the mannerisms in Minoru that would indicate an honest response. He was observing several micro expressions and signs in Minoru that acted as a way to sense his responses. Every person had tells, though Kyodai didn't know Minoru's yet.
Kyodai responded back in a almost relaxed manner as he was very comfortable talking about his job. But his wording was still very carefully chosen and so was his tone. He was being very polite and formal just because of the environment they were in. It would take more than one conversation before he was fully comfortable around Minoru. But his especially keen eyes were telling him Minoru meant no harm to him.
Kyodai said, " Yes, that is my specialty. So the medical profession, especially in a hospital has to be broken up into sub specialties so no one doctor gets overwhelmed with to many patients. And that is my job to categorize and prioritize patients so they can see the right person in the most timely manner. It's less a Shinobi thing and more just a medical professional thing. " Kyodai watched for responses as he spoke to make sure to modulate himself properly. In his younger years he didn't do that and got accused of treating people as dumb.
It couldn't be further from the case for Kyodai but youngsters are mean sometimes. Kyodai knew this well and so he would observe the details of a person's reactions to compensate. It was really an easier said than done ability. Though no Hyuuga is bad at observing really. He noted that Minoru was polite enough to meet his eyes even though it was unnecessary with their Byakugans active.
Minoru really did care for his owl, and Kyodai knew this by how the bird was being held. Someone who cares for animals are generally better than those that don't. These were all reassuring signs to Kyodai. Details like that were very important to make mental notes of. Tamako and Naota neither had animals with them when he saw them. Not that meant much but it was indicators.

The male sharpened his ears as the other guy started to talk. "Yes, that is my specialty. So the medical profession, especially in a hospital has to be broken up into sub specialties so no one doctor gets overwhelmed with to many patients. And that is my job to categorize and prioritize patients so they can see the right person in the most timely manner. It's less a shinobi thing and more just a medical professional thing." explained Kyodai.
Minoru observed that the presumably younger male used words that were easy to understand. The shinobi probably knew that the older man was not a medic shinobi like himself. 'He must have worked as a medic for quite some time. Kyodai-san was able to explain the main parts of his job quite easily. Someone with less experience would have a harder time doing that' noticed the Chuunin.
The male saw that the other Hyuuga was more at ease as well. Most of the major muscle groups in the upper body were less tense. His heart beat had slowed down a bit as well. 'Perhaps it's because I'm younger and less stern compared to main house members he has met. I know there are a fair number of those' recalled the black-haired guy.
"I must say - you've chosen quite an important shinobi profession. I really appreciate having medics at my teams. I'm a Chuunin, but I focus more on ninjutsus combined with genjutsus. I'm sure your eyes have picked up on that already" replied the guy. He decided it was time to reveal something about himself.
He glanced down at his animal companion for a moment. She was currently snuggling her face into his chest. Minoru did not mind the least - Shimoko was probably tired after a long day. He looked back up at the medic once more. It felt like an observation game of some sort.

Detect Lie Rank: "C" Skill: Supplementary Effect: User develops the ability to gauge whether another character is telling truth or lie. Special: --- Drawback: --- Description: A user develops the ability to gauge whether another character is telling the truth by reading facial expressions and interpreting body language. The Investigator must be able to see and hear (but not necessarily understand) the individual under scrutiny. With a successful Sense Motive check opposed by the subject’s Acting check result, the user can tell whether the subject is deliberately and knowingly speaking a lie. This ability does not reveal the truth, uncover unintentional inaccuracies, or necessarily reveal omissions in information. Limit: Must learn from Universal Miscellaneous. Must have Sense Motive Skill (25 Points).
"I must say - you've chosen quite an important shinobi profession. I really appreciate having medics at my teams. I'm a Chuunin, but I focus more on ninjutsus combined with genjutsus. I'm sure your eyes have picked up on that already" replied Minoru. Kyodai heard from the Chunnin. Nothing he revealed was really surprising and for the reason the other Hyuuga mentioned. So far at least Minoru seemed to be honest.
That was an important factor for the bit of trust he was giving him. For Kyodai did not trust his fellows in the Clan, especially the main branch. Kyodai's own response to the statement was a non-committal shrug. Minoru's own eyes were the same as his, so he would know what Kyodai would see. As they talked Kyodai was getting a better gauge of Minoru which was just as well.
" I was actually a Medic long before I was a Shinobi so it wasn't a big deal to become a medical Shinobi." This was an extended trust from Kyodai. He was using his words as a gauge to judge the honesty and sincerity of the young man before him. But he was also being carefully polite. As time went on though nothing was setting off red flags for him. Kyodai was use to reading people on short notice from his time at the Crisis Center.
At the Crisis Center he would have to gauge what was truth and what was a lie so he could make a real judge of the problem afflicting the person. Unfortunately even in that situation most people lie, either out of embarrassment or something else. He practiced the skill of gauging day in and day out with his regular work. And that stoic logic carried over to his shinobi life as well.
This experience is what he was using to gauge Minoru with. He may be a cynic but he was an honest one that judged each person by their own merits. He was just cautious due to experience. That pretty much summed up Kyodai's feelings. He was a carefully guarded person and most people didn't pay enough attention to see this. But it was obvious Minoru was better at picking up clues then most.

The other guy gave him a shrug. It was no surprise since he had probably seen what the male was capable of. "I was actually a medic long before I was a shinobi. So it wasn't a big deal to become a medical shinobi." informed Kyodai. His statement made Minoru raise his eyebrows a little bit.
"Really now? That's quite interesting...you're basically the first medic Hyuuga I've ever met" told the young man in a low voice. He tried his best to hide the slight suspicion in his voice. He thought that medic shinobis had to be at least 13 years old in order to access the hospital. But perhaps the male in front of him was older than what he appeared to be.
The Chuunin glanced quickly at his skeleton. He noticed that the bones were more dense compared to children or younger teenagers. But his tendons appeared to be a bit on the stretched side. 'I think he's just gone through a growth spurt. I've seen similar things on the teenagers in my Jyuuken classes' observed the male.
His eyes glanced back down at his animal companion. She had turned around with her back facing the other Hyuuga. "OK...stay calm" muttered the black-haired guy as he adjusted the way he held her. He was now holding her in the same way someone would hug a porcelain doll to their chest. Minoru did however make sure that his right hand was under her feet.

Kyodai raised an eyebrow as the other Hyuuga spoke. "Really now? That's quite interesting...you're basically the first medic Hyuuga I've ever met" told Minoru in a low voice. Minoru tried his best to hide the slight suspicion in his voice. Kyodai noted what he heard and tried to explain it. His own musculature and skeletal system though was bit on the finishing up on the growth side.
Kyodai thought for a moment before responding. "When I was much younger I was a Caretaker in the elderly ward. As I grew older the hospital trained me as a actual Medic. I graduated my Physician's exam just before I entered the Academy. I have only been out of the academy for a few months. " He didn't like revealing so much about himself but he didn't want a main house suspicious about him more.
Kyodai was a tough cookie though in many ways. If you looked at his build one could see that he has had hard physical training all his life despite being basically raised in the hospital. Working from a young age carrying and fetching things and helping people much larger than him has built him up nicely. He was on the Lean side of things but his muscles were well defined for his size. He might be bight but their was a strength there.
Kyodai noted that his body was being examined like he was doing to Minoru and wasn't bothered much. Their eyes left few secrets from each other. It was better to be truthful and use the truth to ones advantage. He was a fairly seriously minded fellow and built on stern stuff. His body and mind were well matched for the trials of being a shinobi. He was a hard one to beat in that aspect.
"OK...stay calm" muttered Minoru as he adjusted the way he held her. So Kyodai took a closer look at the bird and shifted his stance slightly to give aid if needed. First and foremost, he was a medical professional but there was depths to this Hyuuga. Few knew what kind of man someone was but Kyodai was learning how to figure out just that. And he had the fortitude to see his will through.

It did not take long for the male to get the answer he was looking for. "When I was much younger, I was a caretaker in the elderly ward. As I grew older, the hospital trained me as a actual medic. I graduated my physician's exam just before I entered the Academy. I have only been out of the academy for a few months." informed the younger guy.
Minoru let out a low whistle. "That's very impressive. Most Hyuugas enter the academy when they're five or six and graduate when they're eleven or twelve" replied the young man. This did explain why Kyodai had such a refined chakra control. He had done medic ninjutsus for almost ten years.
His animal companion then let out a soft 'hoot'. Both of his chakra-fuelled eyes glanced down at her. The Chuunin saw that the muscles in her injured wing was twitching slightly. 'Is she in pain?' pondered the male as he looked at her tendons. But there was nothing wrong there.
His eyes then shifted to her ribcage. Maybe she had pulled a muscle or damaged the cartilage there. 'I can't see any damage there either' observed the black-haired guy after his byakugan had checked her. He then checked her abdominal area. Maybe Shimoko had gotten injured or had stomach problems.
'Kami....I'm such an idiot' thought the guy when he checked her abdominal area. The good news was that the said area was fine. But the bad news was that her stomach plus her intestines were empty. The animal was in short very hungry. Minoru adjusted her weight slightly so she was more comfortable.

Kyodai tilted his head at Minoru's examination of the owl. He knew he had down a good job healing her and began to double check his work as well. Leaving any patient in pain when he could avoid it was just not something he could do. His refined and sturdy systems examined the owls and found the problem almost at the same time that Minoru did. For he had noticed rthe bird's shifting as well.
Kyodai smiled a genuine smile for one and looked at Minoru in the eye. " She is hungry it looks like. Anyways, you have more concerns? or did you come originally to train as well?" For Kyodai originally had came here to practice his Jyuuken which he so rarely does by itself. Most of the time he was training either Aikido or Krav Maga. But Jyuuken being the pinnacle of Hyuuga power must be learned.
But all that physical training is what gave him such a sturdy fortitude. Combined with his medical training he was in very healthy shape. Not much can hurt a fully trained medic, but he still had things he needed to learn to be more effective in the field. Though how to continue that training bore some thought for he needed to work with a crew to be truly effective. And his last squad was spread to the four winds.
