James had recently joined the Hyoushi clan, and was excited to learn the new skills available to him. He wasn't particularly a great ninja, and his hiphop skills were unrefined. This caused him to decide to train in the wilderness at beat boxing. He put his arms forward. Elbows turned inward to bring his hands to his mouth. Chakra flowed through his throat. Not normal chakra, but that of sound. James felt the chakra enter his voice box. Vibrating slightly, he forced the air into his mouth. Exploding out into a "Puhh" one of the most basic sounds. Emulating the open drum, James felt like he could move on to the next noise. That one was easy enough.
James' next big trick would be to force air inward. The chakra coated his mouth as he began sucking in air. Not swallowing, but keeping the air inside his throat. His neck swelled up as a familiar sound echoed within. "Uhn". The kickdrum sound emenated from inside the throat, unlike other sounds which were forced out. James tried it again for good measure. "uhn uhn uhn." A triplet formed in such a way that they swelled up sounding like they were halting quickly like a car that slammed its brakes too fast.
Something that James found strange during his practice was that the air from the kickdrum sound welled up in his mouth seaking escape. James attempted to keep the chakra steady, but it became quickly unbearable, eventually flowing out in a satisfying "tss". James tried again to create this sound. Pushing his tongue to the top of his front teeth. The chakra enhanced air emanated from James' mouth. This sound would be known as the common snare drum sound that was commonplace in many beat boxing sets.
James decided to practice one more sound before combining them all together. Holding his lips stiff, James inhaled through his nostrils. The air resonated inward. The outward display would rush his mouth speedily. His lips held stiff bent under the pressure he enforced. The lips vibrated with a harsher sound than normal. "Bububububu" The sound spun like the rotors of a helicopter in hot pursuit. The motion was akin to giving a raspberry without any surface on which to stifle the movement. An open drum combined with a drumroll was what one could describe this sound as.
Having collected all the sounds necessary for his first attempt to make something musical out of the mouth manipulating art of beatboxing, James decided to start from the last thing he learned, and work his way around. "Bububu bububu tss uhn uhn tss uhn bububu uhn tss uhn uhn tss uhn puhh uhn puhh uhn uhn puh bububub puu uhn puh uhn bububu uhn tss tss tss tss tsssss" The sounds were bare, and minimal, but James was rather new and had tired himself out from using so much sound chakra.
