Ryutatsu took the reheated Katana shaped piece and took it to his anvil. He began to fold the material and shape it. He would then quench it, reheat it, and refold it again. Over and over he would do this to the Katana for that was the secret of the katana. It required a lot of folding to give it durability and shape. And Ryutatsu did this the old fashion way for the sheer comfort of exercise. His abilities came more for feeling it out and to make sure there was no slippage.

Ryutatsu continue to pound away and fold the metal infused glass. He was careful though because it was glass and Air pockets that gave it special workings. He worked the Katana carefully until a single side blade that was slightly curved appeared. The folding and the pounding making it into a weapon of beauty. The Aeroglass blade was something to behold that was for sure. The speckled glass was an interesting mix of materials.

Ryutatsu took the finished forging to the next station for the next phase. For forging of a blade is just one portion of the craft. It would still need to be finished and fitted with a sheath and a hilt. That was the station he took the naked blade to. For now it was to work in the next part. For the purely visual effect to make it worth selling he was working in a wooded hilt. This would be to make the piece something buyers would want.

Ryutatsu was almost finished as he then worked a basic but neatly done wooden sheath. It wasn't his usual metal sheaths that he used on his own weapons. But considering his Ikebana heritage and way with wood as well it worked. It wasn't anything fancy compared to Nightin Gale but it would fetch a great price. He even sharpened the edge of the blade to make it a usable work of art.

Ryutatsu finished his work on everything but the finishing touches. He put the elegant craftsmanship into the wooden sheath and hilt. This would make it a true work of art. He put motifs of Roses and storms with lightning bolts. And even signed his work with the motif that symbolized his work a intertwined rose and lighting bolt. It represented his dual nature as Ikebana and Kyoudo.

Ryutatsu smiled at the first completed sword of aeroglass. It was time to for him to do another. For he needed the funds and it was fun to do. So he reset the materials he just used and got out another blank he was going to fill. He even made sure he had plenty of molten aeroglass to make the sword. Ryutatsu finished up his set up and did a final double check of everything and he was ready.

Ryutatsu poured the molten mixture into the blank mold. He had started his process on yet another sword. He was using his senses to make sure the mixture was at the perfect ratio as he poured and shaped a sword. Ryutatsu worked in the intense heat like he normally would growing use to it. He was a very good smith of swords and his care in his craft showed. Though he smiled the whole time he worked.

Ryutatsu took the steaming hot mixture that had harden enough to handle and dunked it in the barrel of water. It was the process known as quenching. He would then take the dull sword shape and bring it back over the fire to heat up again. It needed to be hot enough to be malleable. It took taime for it to heat up but less time than a truly metallic piece.

The process to make a katana doesn't change much. He was still feeling his way through the metal and non metal. He would fold the malleable piece making sure it had not harden to the point of brittleness but wasn't molten liquid either. Making aeroglass weapons was a process in balance. Everything had to be in balance, from the heat to the force used to smith. Each folding though gave it strength and edge.

Ryutatsu worked hard on the katana even though it would just be a show piece to sell. Maybe he would sell it to the dojo instead of a merchant. He didn't know what he was going to do with the finished product. But it was a relaxing way to past the time by making swords. It gave him a calming exercise to perform for it took time to reach the quality he was shooting for anyways. It was a careful process that he had crafting swords of beauty and function.

Ryutatsu finally got a sword form worth selling. Now he had to polish off the grim and soot from the forge process itself. For at the moment it was just a dirty naked blade. He needed to coax a beautiful sword out of the mess he made and the blade that was forged. He brought it over to the grindstone. There he began the process of giving it a killing edge for he swords were more than decoration but weapons to be used.

Ryutatsu now had a polished and sharpened naked blade. But that was far from a complete katana. It was more than a blade, it needed a hilt a tsuba, and a sheath at the very least. So he continued his smithing to complete the work that he started. With the skill born of ability and training he made fine examples if plain hilt and tsuba. Theis would give the wielder of his blade a place to hold.

Ryutatsu was finally finished with the twin to the last blade that he made. Though this one had a different hilt and sheath. It was all about appearances even though they were identical in the ways that mattered. But if he wanted people to by them making each blade a unique work of art was essential. Either way he made sure to etch his crafting mark into the base of each blade. Then he packed it up to be shipped with the other one.

Ryutatsu began this craft of a piece of art for his pupil Kimi. Those basic Sickles he used during the sparring match would only take him so far. So Ryutatsu decided to upgrade his arsenal a little. It wasn't his very best but he doubted Kimi could afford his very best but these would do. He began the process by planning it out, for it was going to be more than a simple pair of sickles. If he was going to do something might as well make it good.

Ryutatsu decided to work it slow just to be right in his crafting techniques. The fist step would be the sickles that he was to craft. It would be a twin pair of sickles connected by a chain that had a quick release clasp. None of these parts individually would be hard to craft. But it was the total whole that was something a bit different from the normal. It should open the possibilities either way.

Ryutatsu set up the mold for the first sickle using the same process he would use for a katana basically. It was just the shape that was different and the fact it didn't need as many folds. He had the forge roaring hot while he did so. It was best to get the hot parts first done. It would give him a break later as he crafted. For one part was gonna need the cold.

Ryutatsu put the steel mix over the fire to heat it properly. It was a special blend of steel he was suing to make it fire forged. It was the same steel that his forge tools were made out of. It was especially resistant to heat and hard to craft with. But he knew the secrets of how to work it from Tatsuo. Any decent smith knew what was needed to work with the very steel their tools are made from.

Ryutatsu watched an waited as the steel mixture came to the right point to be manipulated. All it needed was the occasional stir to keep it in the right proportions. And Ryutatsu could feel the purity of what he worked with through his gifts. For Ryutatsu this was pleasurably, fun to craft such odd weapons meant for only a single person's hand. He was now ready to begin the process on the first of three pieces.
