Ryutatsu poured the Fire Forged Steel alloy into the blank mold and waited for it to cool a bit. Once the metal harden he used his abilities to rush the mass of hot metal to water to quench it. This rapidly cooled the metal and created great bellows of steam. Then he brought it over to his anvil and hammer. There he began to pound out the shape of a sickle.

Ryutatsu pounded and worked on the Fire Forged Sickle half of this work. For this work which he had dubbed Fire and Ice was a work of opposites. But it should provided it's owner with a few more options in a fight. And as clever as Kimi is that would be something to see. Either way he was having fun making the sickle come into life as a blade was formed.

Soon the blade was all but done and he had to set it aside. He wasn't finished with the Fire forged sickle of course but it didn't need to be worked over any more. So he used his abilities to float it to the assembly table and out of the way as he prepared for the next part. He had to be very careful with the next material for it was metal infused glass basically.

Ryutatsu set the material to be melted and mixed as he set up to make chains out of it. And the two end pieces of chain needed quick release clasps. But since he was incorporating such a light material it shouldn't need much adjustment to use these while on a chain. It was certainly something different than the norm though and that made Ryutatsu smile. So he worked the glass admantine mixture until it was proportioned right.

Ryutatsu worked the Aeroglass starting from one end, he was going to work it until the other end. Each link had to be formed one at a time for it to be as solid as possible. These links were fairly thick compared to normal steel links but they were just as strong and only a fifth of the weight. For his friend it would be like having air bind his Sickles together.

Ryutatsu worked the first one as he had to have it in pieces technically, for it wasn't a full link. It was a clasp to attach to the end of a sickle. So this required working the hot material over and over until every piece fit just right. It was not an easy process but it was working. Occasionally he would pick up smithing burns but all he would need was his skull of healing to lessen them and continue.

This was to be a fairly long chain between his sickles as not to hamper his movements. The was approx of eight meters of chain he was suppose to make. That was a lot of links to make. But even though it was an involved and careful process. It wasn't to hard for him either. Each link was shaped and guided around the previous until Ryutatsu was satisfied. One, then two and soon more as slowly a chain of aeroglass formed.

Ryutatsu worked the aeroglass like the master smith he was. Other smiths and craftsmen have there works of art, but his was weapons. And this was going to become another one of his works of unusual weapons. This was not nearly as complicated as the Deathgate he made for the Twins of the dojo but it was certainly more than a normal katana. Heck it was a chain and twin but opposite sickles.

Ryutatsu worked the heat and the glass with metal flecks until he had a very long and nice length of chain. Again this was only part of a whole. So he was no where near finished as he wiped his brow of the sweat. It was hot work but it was rewarding to see something created under his own power. And this was something that was more useful than a display.

Ryutatsu worked his skill and his ability into these superior weapons and a chain that had an advanced design. It would be interesting to see his works used in the field, to test theory with actual data. But he hadn't had the pleasure yet. And for this part the middle link was going to get his craftsman's mark. The intertwined lightning bolt and rose.

Ryutatsu finished the last link before the clasp of the other end. There he had to work and rework the aeroglass again and again. For it was another mechanical piece basically, while not a complex device of a technician, it still require work and thought. He worked it until he could make a catch release clasp so the chain could be detached as needed by the owner.

This was a process that was more complicated to do. It was similar but opposite to making the Fire Forged Steel. Actually it was Fire Forged Steel but made so the opposite end drew the heat. Fire Forged drew the heat from the handle and towards the tip of the blade or tool. But it wasn't so with Frost Forged, no he was using the same steel mixture but not away.

Frost Forged weapons brought the heat to the handle basically. So it would leave the blade ice cold or in more lamens terms it drew heat away from the tip and whatever the tip is touching. This would make it a much more damaging piece of equipment but he had to work the process in a special way to do that. That and he was going to have to be careful in the finishing process.

So Ryutatsu made the blank for the Sickle shape to be molded into and then worked the alloy until it was ready. He would sense until it had the proper properties he was looking for. Ryutatsu then would carefully pour the metal unto the blank until the rough shape would appear. His abilities made it easy not to get burned as much as some smiths. But it was still a dangerous process.

Ryutatsu then moved the sickle blade of Frost Forging to his hammer and anvil station once he had finished the rough shape. He of course had to quench the heat of it and re work the heat and cold until he had a workable piece that he could pound away at. That was the most involved portion of the process was to pound life into a shaped lump of metal. Working it until the proper parts were all there.

Ryutatsu worked the sickle until a proper blade had formed. Of course he also tested the metal of both the Frost Forged and the Fire Forged. He needed to make sue he had gotten the process right so each did the drawing away or towards heat as proper. Both dull sickle blades performed as expected. Now it was time to tie everything up and finish his work.

Now Ryutatsu had to start the finishing process which included polishing and sharpening the sickles. So each sickle had to go to the grind stone as he ground away any defects from the hammer and gave it a smooth razor's edge. It was easy work to press the pedal of the large grindstone and make an edge which would split hairs on each of the two sickles.

Ryutatsu now wrapped each Sickle in a hilt. The Fire Forged needed a hilt that insulated well so the owner's hands would not get to cold. The Frost Forged needed just as much insulation as not to make the owner's hand to hot. Each hilt then was affixed with the places to hook the clasps of the chain onto. He was almost done, just a couple more touches and they were complete.

Now he was basically complete, he just designed and started putting together the straps/sheaths for the weapon/s. It was one and three at the same time, no special meaning in this piece like there was in Deathgate but it was another finely wrought piece. He checked the size of the straps and sheathes until they would fit about where Kimi normally wore his other sickles and he was done.
