Upright Stance
Rank: "E"
Skill: TaiJutsu
Effect: A Basic upright stance used in boxing.
Special: ---
Drawback: ---
Description: Picture To adopt an Upright Stance, you should stand with your legs roughly shoulder-width apart. Your back foot should be about half a step behind your front foot. If your dominant boxing hand is your right hand, your left foot will lead. Lift your right heel off the ground by about 3 inches and point both feet inward (although do not exaggerate this movement). If you lift your heel too far off the ground, or turn your feet too far inward, you will become unbalanced. As a test, imagine someone pushing you from any direction. In a properly balanced stance, you should be able to maintain an upright position and not fall to the ground or sway from side to side. To increase the stability of your stance, keep your knees and hips slightly bent but make sure your back is straight. Your lead fist (which will be your left fist if your dominant boxing hand is your right hand) should be positioned vertically at eye level, approximately six inches away from your face. Your right fist should be positioned next to your chin, with your elbow held against your ribcage. This is good defensive positioning and will effectively protect your body. Whilst watching televised boxing matches, you may have noticed the boxers tapping their cheeks with their hands. This repetitive action acts as a reminder to keep fists up at all times and is especially important as the match progresses and energy levels drop. To further protect yourself from blows from your opponent, keep your chin pressed against your chest. Punches to the jaw often cause knock-outs, so it is essential to keep this stance throughout the boxing match.
Limit: Must learn in a gym that teaches Bokushingu (Boxing)
Ueki had some time to kill before the start of the mission. He wanted to take a break from learning the scroll his mother had presented to him. At the moment he was a bit stumped on how to proceed. He had tried everything that he could and was unable to wrap his head around the mysteries contained within. Ueki noticed that if he wanted to be a master at setting up traps, he would be often times faced with the eventuality that some opponents would be able to make their way through his traps and he needed a way to defend himself. Ueki walked from the MizuKage Tower in search of the boxing gym that was not to far from his house. Ueki quickly made a water water clone as he rounded the corner and the boxing gym started to come into view.
It was pretty late in the day and the sun was finally starting to set, the opaque sky starting to be filled with tints of orange and purples, reflecting off of the mist that was generated throughout the village.
I wonder where all this mist comes from
Ueki's thoughts started to wander a bit as he was hoping that it was not too late and the boxing gym would still be open. As Ueki pushed on the door a tiny bell rang signalling that someone had came in. Ueki's clone following closely behind him. An old short man with grey hairs and a large bald spot at the crown of his head glared at Ueki. His nose long and crooked jutting away from his face, a white towel wrapped around his neck with sweat soaking the white tee shirt and black shorts that he had on. The old man seemed to be busy training another fighter.
"You are new, lets keep this short, over there are pads. If you want to practice then practice. I don't have time to be wasting on the likes of you."
The old man turned around and went back to instructing his fighter who was shadow boxing at the moment. The whole gym smelled like sweat and Ueki turned his nose up for a moment before refocusing on his goal. Ueki walked over to the pads that the old man had mentioned and tossed them over to his clone. He then started to emulate the style of the boxer who was shadow boxing, tossing occasional weak punches at the pads his clone was holding.
