Personality
OVERALL: Tetsuzo is a relatively kind young man; he usually has a smile on his face and tends to have a positive outlook on life in general. Tetsuzo tends to try to trust people outright when he meets them for the first time but also has a very tenuous grasp on that trust and has found himself easily betrayed by others in the past. He is of average intelligence and is still quite naïve to the world overall in its dangers and risks. Tetsuzo has yet to truly experience the loss of a friend in combat and has yet to experience the joys of his first real taste of love.
FRIENDS: When it comes to his friends, those who have proven worth his trust, he can be fiercely loyal. Tending to trust far too quickly, this Hyuuga can be seen as sometimes a tad willing to make friends with anyone, but those are merely acquaintances or temporary friends. As far as he is concerned his true friends are rare, though he might call anyone a “friend” to truly be one is something that must be earned, that is forged overtime and is a bond that he is willing to die in order to protect. He is also willing to fight for the rights of every other friend and those that they care for, wanting to keep them safe for the happiness of his friend.
NORMAL PEOPLE: Tetsuzo is one of the kindest people in the village, he is willing to talk to anyone and help them no matter the issue. The young man does not view himself as superior just because of his clan but instead almost inferior, needing to use his advanced bloodline to instead help those who might need it no matter what. He views the job of those with power to be to serve those without and keep them safe. He will never look down on a normal person but instead revere them as they are struggling to make do in a world full of those who can perform such magnificent abilities such as his own.
COMBAT: Despite his kind and almost cautious demeanor, the snow-haired male has a tendency to focus all of his strength in combat. He tries to be one of the fiercest fighters when it comes time to battle but at the same time he tries to avoid combat as much as he can wanting to only fight as a last resort but also feels that it is beyond imperative to be ready to fight whenever the need arises. Tetsuzo is also willing to give mercy to those who he fights, if they show they are truly reticent for whatever they did to cause the combat to occur.
RELATIONSHIPS: Being only fourteen years old, Tetsuzo has never really been in any relationships outside of those childish games with the “promises” to marry one another when they are older. He though is very shy around women he finds attractive or that he likes yet he also has a drive to be impressive around them leading him to sometimes try a bit too hard and make a fool of himself or even running away from said encounter.
INTELLIGENCE: Tetsuzo is not highly intelligence nor is he a dunce by any means; instead, he is quite diligent and willing to work as hard as possible to learn new things. Though he sometimes has a roundabout way of thinking, this young shinobi tends to think outside the box and within it.
LOYALTY: Tetsuzo is very loyal to his village and its people, not so much its leader. He views the leader as someone who can be replaced at the whim of its people, needing to serve everyone’s best interest and not their own. Though he will show loyalty to the Hokage by default only because they are the leader of the village until they have said or shown in some way that they are not worthy of that trust and loyalty. When it comes to how far his loyalty will go, for the village and the innocents within he is willing to lay down his life to fight and defend them or to see that they are able to get justice.
DEATH: Being still only fourteen years old Tetsuzo has not really encountered much death besides the occasional family death, due to their old age. He has yet to make a friend or ally who has been taken from him in combat and as such does not really know how that would affect him yet, he hopes that he would have the mental fortitude to go on. However, he does not yet understand, or at least not truly7 understand, the dangers of shinobi life other than the fact that he could be stricken down himself, something he is prepared for in case it happens.
OVERALL: Tetsuzo is a handsome young man, if one wanted to describe him in a short sentence. He was blessed with good looks at an early age, not the greatest but more than well enough to get by in life without mocking. Being of the Hyuuga clan the young man has shocking lavender eyes that almost seem piercing at times, he has white hair that is about neck length and looks unkempt yet nicely coifed. The youth also has no noticeable scars on his body.
HEAD: Tetsuzo is has a relatively round shaped head with a point that makes it more oval than round, he has a relatively slim and pointed nose centered perfectly on his face, his mouth seems to almost always be in a slight smile as if he had grown up without much issue in his life. His hair is snow white, about neck long at its longest in the back, and is relatively unkempt with a sort of nice and natural lay and appearance to it. His eyes are a brilliant lavender color like all others of his bloodline. Finally his ears are relatively normal sized and unremarkable, for the most part hidden by his long hair. On his forehead, like all branch family Hyuuga lies a single painful reminder of his father: the Caged-Bird seal as it is known in some circles. The symbol consists of a small cross shape in the middle of Tetsuzo’s forehead with a small hook on each of the arms of the cross at the end and a little line that is about an inch from either side that fades down with opposing hooks on the thickest ends of each line.
BODY: Tetsuzo has a relatively lean body, weighing only about fifty-two kilograms, he has no visible built up muscles but is relatively strong for his age thanks to his training. He is more than capable of the athletic movements of the Hyuuga clan to utilize the Jyuuken fighting style. His arms, showing little to no muscle tone or definition, tend to look deceptively weak. If one were to lift his shirt, they would see a strong core of muscle tone and definition leading to the barely visible set of six pack abdominal muscles.
LEGS: The Hyuuga has legs that are slightly longer than his body, giving his overall height a slight boost, standing at about one hundred and sixty-five centimeters tall, the youth has strong legs yet the muscle would not be quite visible. He also has a good sense of balance thanks to his training and his feet being more or less slightly less arched than most peoples are. If one would look carefully a very faded scar could be seen on his left thigh from a mistake in his training, but it has so well aged that he barely would consider it a scar anymore.
CLOTHING: The young man wears a very simplistic outfit, starting from the bottom he wears brown boots with a black sole, the boots themselves seem to be made of some kind of leather or other animal hide-like material. Moving upwards the young man wears simple black pants with a pair of pockets on either hip and a set on each cheek of his rear end, tied together with a simple brown belt that has a simple silver square buckle in the center. Tucked into the pants he wears a black, long sleeve shirt that has a slight V-neck to it and its sleeves go all the way to his wrists. Atop that, he wears a mostly brown-collared jacket that has a black rectangle that goes from just near the armpit all the way up to his collar but stays on the front end of the shoulder at best. He also owns a pair of long brown gloves that stretch from the tips of his fingers to just shy of his elbows. Finally his forehead protector is usually seen sewn into the inside of his jacket but can easily be removed thanks to how he has it attached and can be worn any way he desires.
Background
A stormy night marked the birth of this Hyuuga; it was a night like many others yet different in some strange ways…or was it? Who really knows, all that anyone knows for sure is that the birth of Tetsuzo was marked by a fierce storm that was rare for this part of the world, one more common in the land of rain or the land of waves. The young man was born not into direct line of succession but far from it, how far was not quite sure to be seen but some said he might as well have been born into the branch family…or perhaps was he? Again, not much is sure.
Tetsuzo’s birth was one full of screams and pain, like many other births, his mother going for a more traditional style without all the advances of modern medicine or the use of medical Ninjutsu to help her through it. She wanted to instead feel the pain that her ancestors had once felt, it was a strange ideal but one that her husband and father of her children fully accepted and was not so much okay with but rather willing to go along with; after all this was her body. The fact that it was her body meant that it was merely the vessel of his child; what she wanted to do with it so long as she birthed him a healthy child was her choice.
The father of Tetsuzo was by many definitions an abnormal pick for a husband, but not to the parents of his mother, who instead saw him as a man worthy of their daughter when they arranged the marriage for her, he was a Hyuuga and she was just some random woman. The Hyuuga gene being dominant over hers meant also that she would have a high chance of producing an heir outside of her rank and they were thrilled at the prospect, so wed her they did. They did so to the man that now stood watching sternly as she gave birth to their child, a young boy who had her snow-white hair and his father’s piercing lavender eyes, crying for everyone to hear.
That is how he was born, thus beginning the tale of a new Hyuuga in this powerful world…
Early Childhood.
Tetsuzo’s childhood was one of structure, though his first year or two were like many other children’s he pooped, he ate, he slept and he cried to get attention for the earlier mentioned things. He did not know what kind of life he was in for, nor did he know much of his life that he was in for as a Hyuuga. Around the age of two when he was beginning to walk and talk began his intense training under his father’s stern and watchful gaze. The young man began with the study of language, learning to speak the common tongue but also how to communicate without uttering a word thanks to the use of sign language.
He was also taught more about the human anatomy than those of his age related peers, in addition to this he was trained by a mortician on real human cadavers about the vital points of the human body amongst other things. This left him wondering about many things in this life but yet he was fine after all he had his mother’s patience and her ability to put up with the abuse that her husband and Tetsuzo’s father was.
As a young man he was beaten when he failed to produce the results expected of him, his Byakugan training being one of them. He was expected to excel at awakening the eye but instead was slower than his father wanted him to be, showing the difficulties that not only most Hyuuga did but that those of someone born with half the gene pool “tainted” as he called it by an outsider. However, this abuse did not disillusion the young Hyuuga yet that was to be seen still, the boy continued to practice his daily lessons, still learning the basics of the world and some of its more advanced properties, after a point his hand signing was about as fluent as he was in his vocal speech.
And so this continued, till he entered the ninja academy.
Youth.
Tetsuzo’s life just before the academy began is when things started to take a turn for the worse. His father’s anger began to get harsher and harsher, his mother and him were both taking the brunt of it whilst hiding the bruises and pain. For Tetsuzo that was much easier since he could hide behind the guise of training, but for his mother she barely left the Hyuuga compound let alone her room. This saddened the still young Hyuuga but he had to persist in his training, forcing himself to do his utmost.
Tetsuzo would be enrolled into the Shinobi academy at age eight where he began to study with those around his age. However, outwardly he seemed relatively happy and enjoying in his life, he knew deep down that he was not, the pain he felt day in and day out. Though rumors were beginning to fluctuate throughout the Hyuuga compound about Tetsuzo’s family, why they rarely were seen outside save for necessary reasons and such, why the boy never seemed to have any friends over even from other families in the Hyuuga clan.
Around his second year in the academy something happened, something that would change young Tetsuzo’s life forever. One day, tired of the abuse his father heaped on him and his mother the young boy took a stand, and though he was inexperienced, he knew that he had to protect the two of them from the onslaught given to them by his father. The boy fought as hard as he could but the more experienced Hyuuga trounced the child but not before making the fight quite public in the middle of the part of the compound that, they lived in, showing how badly he beat his family whilst Tetsuzo’s mother cried from their room.
The fight caused most of the other Hyuuga to look on and wonder just how they could allow such a man to exist in their midst like this. Tetsuzo’s father was soon banished from the clan and nearly the village, though he ended up turning in his shinobi status and leaving on his own merits to do who knows what. Tetsuzo for the first time in his life felt he could be himself, and soon he began to blossom in public, allowing himself to meet others and befriend them as he could only dream of before.
The youth soon found himself in a disadvantageous position, with his father now gone the young was now no longer able to lay claim to a position in the main Hyuuga family and instead found his position being denigrated to that of Branch family. When this decision was made the young man was brought to the elders of the main family and put through the ceremony to place upon his forehead the symbol of the Branch family, the caged-bird seal.
Graduation.
With his father out of the picture, the Hyuuga’s grades dropped a smidge, a few points here or there but he maintained a strong grade as well as the ties he was only able to make once his father had left the village. The youthful shinobi now truly happy for the first time in his life and his training in Jyuuken having not been started in favor of focusing on his personal life and his schoolwork the young Hyuuga seemed unlikely to be a great addition to the clan like his father wanted.
When he was about thirteen years old, since he was born slightly earlier than most of his classmates, the young man passed the academy exit exam to officially become a Genin in the Hidden Village of Konoha. The young man finally feeling quite vindicated in all that he did showed his true happiness and allowed himself to feel the joys he had kept from himself for so long.
