The Temple that Time Forgot {Epic of Hon}

Oh Captain, MY Captain

Being the Mizukage seems to have it's perks. One of them being stumbling across ancient secretes that may have been over looked by previous Mizukage, or secretes they just didn't have time to get to themselves. Well lucky for you, your time as a librarian made it easy for you to sort through catalogs of information. In your reading you came across the mention of an underwater temple near the coasts of a Town in the Land of Whirlpool. Several of your ninja have gone of mission to explore what secretes might be locked away in the temple. However none of them have returned. You will need to investigate this yourself, if anything is to be done.

You will find yourself in an average little fisherman town. It smells of the sea, and everyone there including the children could rattle of the names of the best bait for catching even the most abstract fish, as easily as they would know their own name. The docks where filled with Large Fishing Boats. There would be one A deep sea explorer by the name of Captain Dr. Antonio Chase, yes he likes using the full name. He has been hired to take you to the spot where the temple is said to be. Antonio will be waiting for you at the pier to take you to your destination and to assist you on your journey. He has been researching the legends and stories about this temple for years, but having heard the stories of explorer never returning, has been hesitant to go there himself. However, having the Mizukage accompany him has given him renewed courage, and curiosity to explore the depths of the temple himself.

At the docks of this small town, you will see every dock filled with Large Fishing Boats. But there was one that would draw your attention. Dr. Chase would be standing at on the edge of his boat looking at at the walk way, hoping to spot you. He would be standing there with cargo short a blue swining shoes and a pink shirt. His sand colored hair, blew in the sea wind, his tanned skin showing that he has had more than his fair share at sea. The look in his eyes shouted determination. Let the adventures begin!!!

[Hon]

Hon arrived at the land of whirlpool, he got off of the boat transporting him from the land of mist and onto the docks. He pulled his green jack around his body and zipped it up over his black vest, tucking in the chain with his and his wife's wedding rings secured safely under the vest. With a pair of black trousers, held up by his village headband as the belt and a plain set of black shoes.

Out of the back of his trousers, a small slit would allow his monkey tail to swing side to side with each step. Over his left eye he had an eye patch covering the ritual that replaced his eye damaged in the fire. On the left side of his face and up his left arm several burn scars could be seen after the fire which took his wife. Around the belt on his waist, Hon holstered 8 packs of cards and on each thigh, Hon stored 900 sheets of paper (1800 total). He didn't like fighting but he knew he had to be prepared just in case.

Hon made his way along the dock looking at each and every boat hoping to find the good doctor who was willing to escort him to the temple. It wasn't too long before one particular boat caught his attention. Hon made his way over to it spotting the typical boatsman standing at the edge. "Hello there, Are you Captain Chase per chance?"

[Madame Loki]

"Captain Dr. Antonio Chase actually, good sir. Ah you must be the Mizukage yes? Come aboard, come aboard." Chase would wait for Hon to make his way on board, and once he got there, he would reach out to shake his hand. "Are you ready for adventure my friend? Come, let me introduce you to the rest of the crew. This way this way." The good Doctor would lead Hon towards the inside of the ship. Once inside of the ship, there wouldn't be much of a crew to speak of. There were just 3 other people there. Antonio walked over to a long brunette female and then said, "This is Rebecca, she is our navigator, as well as my assistant . She is also skilled with ancient maps and has a nac for finding her way through mazes. She will be accompanying us in the temple."

He then turned his attention over to a redhead man muscular man. He would reach out to Shake Hon's hands. "The names Francis.. I'm the mechanic. I keep things running. I'll be joining as well, to make sure your ride won't break down." Francis, then went back to preparing his tools. "And I will not be joining you... I'll will be keeping my tight ass right here... on the ship... making sure communications stay up and running. The name's Raychel. I'm in control of communication." A young blond haired woman wave at Hon and go back to her work preparing the communication devices. Antonio looked back at Hon, and said, "We're ready to go whenever you are. It's going to take about an hour to get to the location, let me know when you're ready."

[Hon]

"My Apologies Captain Dr. Antonio Chase, I will use the full title." With an invite, Hon made his way on board where he would meet the trio of crew mates, to the brunette woman Hon gave a polite bow of his head. "Pleasure Rebecca." after a quick introduction, Hon was whisked off to meet the others. First came Francis the mechanic followed by Raychel the resident communicator. "Pleasure to meet you all, I am Souhon Rodai of Kirigakure, but please call me Hon."

Hon's eye closed while he smiled at the crew, he was thankful that they agreed to take him and even more so that some were going to accompany him. Hon wasn't too big a fan of being alone when it came to missions like this, even if he was the only real combatant. "I am happy to leave whenever you are ready Sir. Anything i can do to help with the voyage?"

[Madame Loki]

"AAAAAHHHHHH... Stretch I guess? We just need you to make sure that your body is loose and ready to go. Unless you can Translate Sankirt, or read weather patterns, there are only 4 of us, any help would be much appreciated." The good captain didn't know much about Hon's skill set other then he was a Ninja King or something of the sort. He had no real clue what Kage where, only that they ran a nation of elite fighters and assassins. Honestly he might have to dedicate some time into studying ninja if the opportunity ever presented itself.

Antonio would wait to hear if Hon had anything her could do for them. If you could take at least one of the things off of them plate, they would be able to prep themselves much better than they otherwise would. He would wait for Hon's answer before he would give the common to weigh anchor.

"I can help you out with both should you like, prior to taking up the kagé title I was the village librarian. I taught myself a few languages, including Sanskrit and latin. If needs be, I have a good sense of direction also." Hon's tone was humble, he didn't feel the need to brag about anything, there was no need.

Looking to the sky Hon would attempt to discern the weather pattern before relaying what he believed would be the weather. "What would you like me to attempt to translate?" Hon waited for the answer while the crew set off on the voyage

"Oh my yes, if you would be so kind as to help with the translations that would be a marvelous help. Yes, yes.. that would leave Rebecca with ample time to plot our course and travel route through the castle. Wonderful." Antonio would bring Hon over towards the translation notes that the had, that sat along the side of an ancient scroll. There seemed to be extensive water damage, with some of the words almost completely faded away. It would thank someone highly skilled to even beginning to piece together what the scroll were saying. (Sankrit 100 Check, You pass... clearly.) Antonio would hand Hon a particularly difficult piece to translate.

"Hopefully you can see something that we could not. From what we could gather, it speaks of time and space, which is rather odd considering how old this is. They people then should have very little notions of such things." As Hon would read over the Sankrit, he would be able to translate it perfectly, however it was still very cryptic.

Translations

-To find the treasures once held, you must enter a space in which time once was, but is no longer.-

-The guardians of the this scared space will only sway before the worthy. In time ever present, as they overcome the flow.-

-What is held in hand is lost to the flow. What has be grasp by the flow will be made tangible.-

[Hon]

"Oh my yes, if you would be so kind as to help with the translations that would be a marvellous help. Yes, yes.. that would leave Rebecca with ample time to plot our course and travel route through the castle. Wonderful."

Hon took a seat and gave a sincere smile, he loved translating paper work. It was one of his personal favourite jobs. Upon being presented with a scroll, hon withdrew a sheet of paper from his thigh and would pinch a pen from the table. While everyone else sorted out the sailing of the vessel, Hon's mind focused in on the scroll. "If you need me for anything before I'm done, just let me know."

The scroll's deterioration made it difficult but there were several phrases which could be translated with ease. While translating and writing out said translation, Hon would mutter the odd word here and there. "Treasures....time....flow.." it struck Hon a little odd that Time and Flow were mentioned often. They had to be key to what ever was going to be coming for the group.

"Have you found something? Marvelous... you arm a godsend." Antonio would say as he looked over the bit that Hon had translated. He would double check the findings of course and would begin to smile. "Now the hard part eh? Figuring it out what this all means." Antonio would say as he laid everything out in front of them. The notes translated would lay there before them, they all mentioned flow and time, in some form or fashion, but it was clearly written with the intention of be vague, and cryptic. Hon would need a Critical Success Roll from his Cryptography skill to under stand the hidden meaning of what these translation were saying.

If he didn't have the necessary skills, the deeper meaning behind this translations would remain a mystery for the moment. However, maybe there would be more clues to help understand what these translations were saying once they arrived at their destination. "So do you see anything I don't? Because I can't made head or tails of what these bloody things are trying to say at the moment." Antonio would say with a bit of frustration in his voice. They had finally translated everything, but now it turned out to be some sort of made riddle.

[Hon]

Hon looked over the riddles he had translated, it appeared that among everyone the riddles were completely lost. He had never been amazing at riddles but these were even harder. With a casual shake of his head, Hon spoke up "I'm afraid not, I can translate but not always the best with riddles. That sort of thing was always my wifes territory."

Looking at the others present it was clear enough to him that the riddles were lost on them too. "Maybe more sense could be made of it when we arrive, until then though lets not waste time on it and jump to a solution which could be wrong. Is there anything else I can help with?"

[Madame Loki]

"I suppose you're right. There are bound to be things there that will enlighten us." Antonio said as he continued to look over the odd sentences in front of him. His head turned back over to Antonio, who smiled at Hon, and shook his head, "No, nothing else. You have already done more than your fair share, just rest up we could be at the dropping point shortly." Antonio smiled as he gave Hon a pat on the back. He really did provide a significant help, more than Antonio had expected, he supposed that the leader of ninja were completely different monsters than the ninja's themselves, that was good to know.

It would be another 30 minutes before the group would arrive at the dropping point, in this time, thanks to Hon's efforts the group was able to better prepare than they were before. They fishing boat would begin to come to a stop as they dropped anchor. Antonio and the crew would stand out at the back of the boat as they looked over at the submarine that they were going to be using to traverse the seas. Once Hon arrived he would notice that the sub, was more of a gargantuan puppet. The puppet looked like a Large Great White Shark. Francis would be standing there in his wet suit with a smile on his face.

the puppet was about 62ft in length and made of adamantine, weighing in at about 30 tons which is remarkable considering the size. Despite it's design it was not made for attack, but defense and travel. It's size made it sturdy and imposing to some of the large sea animals, and it back and torso where more or least combined allowing him to create a cockpit large enough to hold four people. It also had Ramjet Thrusters at it's tail to help if a quick escape is needed. There were also additional equipment located throughout the Puppet, none of them offensive. Francis pat the puppet on it's side, with a smile."Haha!!! How do you like my baby? I made it just for this expedition!!! The Megalodon!!!" Francis was a skilled puppeteer but had no real fighting experience. He just dabbled in the art to make traveling easier for the team.

As he revealed his beauty Raycheal was quite upset, "Megalo-ASS!!! That's why we've been dragging  this whole time!? How the hell you even sneak that on board?!" Francis gave a hardy laugh as the two of them continued their banter. Rebecca walked over to Hon, and bowed to him, "Thank you for your help on this expedition. I will try not to slow you down. If you require a Wet suit, I believe we have something here in your size. Also we have your communicator ready, just place it into your ear when you are ready." Rebecca then held out her palms as she held a communicator device for Hon.

-thanks to your efforts certain aspects of the Epic will become much easier. Which parts will become clear, as Epic progresses.-

Hon gave a polite smile, he was glad to help them out how ever he could. Over the next thirty minutes, Hon sat and watched the waves lap against the boat as it sailed over the water. He truly loved the ocean and was so glad he lived in the island nation of water. When the call came to drop anchor, hon rose from his spot and made his way to the back to meet up with the rest of the crew, his eyebrow raised at the giant puppet he would see rising from the water.

He had a chuckle as the crew mates started to bicker over the beautiful puppet. "If I am allowed to say, she is a thing of beauty. I may have to hire you to craft some for the village." Hon gave a happy grin when Rebecca greeted him. "It is no problem at all, I'm sure you won't slow us down, I know there will be a point where your skills will be needed, and you will do nothing but speed us up." With a gentle touch he took the communicator offered to him and gave a polite bow of his head before making his way to the wet suits.

With a wet suit in hand he would quickly start getting changed, in the process showing the burns that covered his left arm and side of his body while the eye patch covered most of the burns on his face. Once changed Hon was fully in his wet suit, with the small chain and wedding bands tucked underneath around his neck, his eyepatch covering the ritualised eye with a mask sitting in his hair secured around the back of the head. His feet were bare but he bought a pair of shoes with him, even though he preferred the bare feet.

His tail was a little uncomfortable being tucked up inside the wetsuit, but it wasn't his so he figured that he couldn't cut a hole in it to allow his tail free movement. His attached the paper and cards back around his wetsuit so he wouldn't be caught out, but was prepared to lace them with his chakra at a moments notice should water start to come in. "I'm ready whenever you all are." Hon turned back to rebecca, "Thank you again for the wetsuit and communicator."

[Madame Loki]

"Oh my that must be uncomfortable for your tail. Please allow me." Rebecca would say as she watched shyly as the man got changed. She would not make mention of the burns and scars, that would be quite rude. She made her way over to Hon, and with her knife she carefully cut a small slit in the wetsuit. Just enough to let the tail com through but not enough to really damage the suit. Once Hon put the suit on he would notice that it was extremely High quality, the Suit would provide and additional 10 hardness to his body, as well as a 20ap Resistance to Cold. After Rebecca finished she blushed a bit and stepped away as she walked over to the Megolodan.

Antonio would come out of the ship's decks, dressed in his wetsuit and with his maps and charts in hand. Francis walked over to Hon and pat him on the shoulder saying, "See Raycheal, this man appreciates beauty... HAHA!! I will be happy to craft all manner of Puppets... Tis my passion." Francis pumped his fist and head back towards the Puppet. It dorsel fin, would cock forward reaveling the cock pit on the inside. They would see Four seats on the inside that would be able to comfortably fit all of them and their equipment. "Well let's get going, adventure awaits." Antonio would say. Francis was the first one in. With the head of the shark puppet facing the front of the ship, that would put him at the right front sit.

Antonio would get in after, placing him in the felt front sit. Rebecca tentatively got into the back right sit behind Francis, and looked over at Hon as she blushed a bit and turned her head bit to look out the small window on the puppet. That would leave the seat next to her open. Once all four of them were inside of the puppet, they would hear over their communicators, "Ok, testing... testing... can everyone here me?" It was Raycheal speaking over the coms, and once she got a response from everyone, she would continue, "Good, listen up, weather is looking nice and you guys have about 12 hours before we lose sunlight. Also I'm getting a lot of movement down there, some of it's big, but with that behemoth Francis built, I doubt you have much to worry about."

Raycheal would disengage the Puppet from the side of the ship, and Francis gave the thumbs up. Raycheal returned it, and slapped the massive puppet on it's side as it would begin to dive.
