Anticlimactic Genesis of Spring[Mission]

"These directions are always so shit."

The young Masamune had been following his own internal compass to the site of the shipwreck. The mission had included a map to the site that the client had been interested in. His body felt aligned with true north, his extended magnetic field had lined up with that of the Earth. Spring was truly alive after a barren winter, the sun visible against the crashing waves of the bay that the ship now lived in. Kaitou removed the list from a pouch he had hidden within his robe. The item list was brief and to the point, just the way he liked it. A few scrolls, gadgets, and some projectiles. "I wonder how many ninja saw this notice and just went off to steal the goods. It's dumb to list what you're looking for, honestly."

His eyes fell upon the prize. A tiny ship likely designed for fishing remained beached on the coast. The coast was now abandoned, the water having long washed-away the footprints of anyone that had stumbled upon the wreckage. The Masamune sighed as he approached the wreck with a few uses of the body flicker technique.

His feet landed on the sand next to the ship a few minutes after finding it. It wasn't very aesthetic. The ship had cracked in half; the hull had been eviscerated by a noxious assailant that lived beneath the waves. For a denizen of the waterfall country, a wrecked ship was nothing new. The Masamune's eyes fell upon an opening in the side of the ship that hopefully lead to the semi-precious cargo the client had been so concerned about gaining. "Why would you hire such a shit boat if you cared so much about your weapons, man? Geez."

When he entered the ship, sunlight poked through the holes created by the split-in-half hull. The rays illuminated several wooden boxes. The rest of the ship had been bled dry. Barrels that once housed food had been split open and robbed. The alcohol stores of the ship had been drained. The only saving grace of these boxes was a mass of metal blocking off access to the cargo. "How do people live without being a magnet? Honestly."

Feeling very much a pirate, Kaitou casted the clan's favored technique "Magnetizor" to move the mass of iron out of the way. As of late, he was finding more and more non-combative uses for his unique bloodline release. It produced a smirk across his face. "Maybe the Ikatsui are wrong, I might be more than a living, breathing artillery piece."

Kaitou snapped his fingers.

The hunk of metal suddenly ripped through the sky at a rapid pace, crashing through the remains of the boat and into the air. It landed in the water next to the shinobi, creating a splash would one expect from a naval bombardment landing in water. His clothes became drenched in salt-water. His hair fell in front of his eyes and he felt a jolt of coolness rush into his bloodstream.

"Jesus."

Nonetheless, the boxes had been exposed. "Metal latches, time for even more fun. With one last snap of his fingers, the boxes popped open and the precious booty showed itself to the world. Kaitou bent over and grabbed the loot, stuffing the scrolls, gadgets, and kunai into a messenger bag he had brought with him. With his goal completed, he began his exodus back towards Takigakure.

"This sure beats murdering an evil Yamanaka, let me tell you."
