Description: There has been complaints about a large undead creature roaming the back woods of a nearby village. The creature is massive in size, and it's stench can be smelled from miles around. It is constantly devouring everything in it's path, leaving very little in it's wake, resulting it the depletion of wild life, and foliage. The very ground itself has begun to become untenable. This creature, must be dealt with as soon as possible.

Description: Also known as Seizure Spirits. Appearing as ghastly skeleton clad in rags, the apparition exists mainly in the Ethereal Plane, thus its low armor class. It does not walk, but floats through walls and over floors mere inches from the ground. Apparitions are the undead spirits of those who died of fright and have returned to this world for revenge against the living. Apparitions can sense victims up to 30 meters away. They can move through walls near their victims. Victims attacked by the Apparition will believe they feel a bony, claw on their throat and must roll a 30 Will Save. A successful roll means the victim still senses the bony claw, but they feel it on a different part of their anatomy. A person who has succeeded in this way becomes immune to the influence of that apparition, who will then turn its attention to someone else. Failure means the victim is stricken with horror and must make an 18 Fortitude Save. Success in this roll means they flee in terror for 1d4 rounds and can be attacked again. If the number is equal to, or greater than the victim's Fortitude, they have a heart attack and dies on the spot. Apparitions can only be attacked during the round in which they are attacking; otherwise they can only be battled on the Ethereal plane. A humanoid slain by an apparition becomes an apparition itself in 2d4 hours, however they come back as a Class Level Lower than they were alive. Like most ghosts, Apparitions haunt their final resting place or the spot where they died. They avoid mirrors and silver. Very rarely one will encounter a family of Apparitions who died at the same time. It will attempt to seek revenge on its former comrades who were disinclined to spend enough money to have them raised.
Yields: When an Apparition dies they turn to dust. This dust is called Specter Dust. 2 cups of Specter Dust can be collected per Apparition. By using an infusion process the Specter Dust from an Apparition can be used to create Essence of Apparition. This process takes 2 hours to complete. Every 2 cups of Specter Dust creates 1 cup of Essence of Apparition. Essence of Apparition is used to create an Elixir of Apparition Control.

The move in small bands but typically you only find massive infestations like that if really powerful necromancy is at play." Shiki remembered about this time two years ago when him and Loki helped free a village from the grips of a powerful necromancer who was summoning demons. It was an unfortunate reality but you can't always save everyone.
