Covering the senbon was a small amount of blood, though Hamura could clearly see a yellow-ish liquid coating them too, which made him rather glad that he was wearing protective gloves. Explaining that the yellow substance was the poison that had been used to kill the woman, the coroner stated that he had done some accurate analysis on the poison so he could get to a certain conclusion. Not willing to share this with Hamura yet, he told him to lean in.

As the young Shinobi did, the man again utilized the same kind of technique in order to remove a select few organs and place them in similar metallic containers. The two organs that had been taken out by the coroner were the heart and a kidney, both looking rather unwell. As it turned out, the poison that had been used had started out at the entry point, in which the poison had started digesting the muscle tissue in the area before being carried further by the blood stream.

At some point, probably very soon after the senbon had hit their intended target, it would have caused the proteins and the toxin to get to the kidneys, causing kidney failure and brown urine, which was exactly what he had found in her bladder. While all this happened, the potassium released from the muscles could in turn cause heart failure, which was how the woman had met her untimely end according to the coroner.

Looking at how the organs had a rather rotten look about them, he remembered that he had read up on something similar when he studied the various animals one could find out in the land of lightning. Feeling like he was on to something, he turned his attention away from the organs and towards the coroner. Asking whether the poison that had been used had an natural origin, he also asked whether it originated from a certain local animal.

When the man smiled and told him that it was in fact a Yes to all of the questions he had asked, Hamura was certain enough to state that the poison was in fact snake venom. While rather hard to get a hand on due to the explosive reflexes and attacking speed of venomous snakes, getting a large quantity of the toxin would not be all that hard once the snake had actually been captured and milked over a jar and a plastic top through which the animal could stick its venomous fangs. Due to his extensive knowledge on the local animals, and therefore of snakes, he knew enough to stay away from them if he could.

A great deal of people did not know where snake venom came from, believing it was something that just naturally coated their fangs, but it actually came from a venom gland located inside of the snake's skull. Having a special compressor muscle that moved the venom from the gland, it passed from one venom duct into an accessory gland, from which it would in turn move into a secondary venom duct and into the venom canal. This venom canal was located inside of the teeth, so that when the snake bit, the compressor muscle could nearly instantly pump a large quantity of venom into the target.

(Final Training Post: Part 10)

Telling the coroner about all of that, it seemed that he had actually been able to teach the older man something as well. Given the look on his face, it seemed that he was actually a little impressed with his new helper, which could only be considered a good thing from Hamura's perspective. From that point on, the coroner taught Hamura quite a bit about various organs, their locations and their functions, as well as how to effortlessly remove them in order to examine them more closely.

Answering a couple of questions for the young Shinobi regarding which organs were the easiest to target in battle, which spots to strike in order to best disable an entire limb or set of muscles, even getting a few pointers on how to perform the chakra scalpel technique that the man had used to take the corpse apart without needing an actual scalpel. All of the things he was now picking up at a rapid pace were truly useful to him, not just as a Shinobi.

Figuring that he'd get into the matter some more by the time he got home, he spent the rest of the afternoon in the coroner's office until the man said he was done for the day. Maybe next time, he would get to dissect someone himself or make a diagnosis on his own, though he wasn't exactly counting on that to happen. After all, it was only his first day, so there was still a lot more for him to learn and a lot more to develop before he could truly go about doing things on his own.

Due to the training he had done in the field of first aid and even in performing autopsies, he had gotten a bit more interested in furthering his training in the precise use of chakra. Part of the advanced curriculum had been the more precise uses and application of chakra such as medical ninjutsu, which required a lot more focus, training and precision than the regular ninjutsu that came in fields such as lightning, fire or wind style for example. Most people did not have what it took to learn it as they just wanted to fight and did not care about healing on the field. This was something Hamura could understand all too well.

When presented with the chance, he would much rather fight someone to win the battle and look at the bigger picture than sit back and taking his sweet time healing some fool that had barely gotten himself killed in battle. Hamura's reasons for following this particular curriculum was because he wanted to learn more about the human body, or more precisely put, he wanted to know which spots to strike in order to maximize the damage he could do to them. Figuring that such things would be a requirement when dealing with bigger, sturdier opponents than himself, he believed that no one had organs made out of steel, meaning those were the spots one had to hit.

Aside from that, he had seen the local coroner use a technique that basically turned his finger into a chakra blade by focusing a very precise amount of chakra directly to the tips of the index and middle finger. The way he put it, it saved him the time of sterilizing and using real scalpels, and was apparently a lot more precise than holding a metallic tool that he had to cut flesh with. Truly, precision seemed to be the keyword when dealing with this kind of thing, as the word had crossed his mind several times already. Figuring that he too would be plenty capable of channeling and using his chakra this way, he started practicing.

Sitting down by the kitchen table, he placed his elbow on the table and had his palm facing towards him with both his index finger and middle finger stretched upward and pressed against one another. Channeling his chakra through his arm and into his hand, he tried visualizing the same kind of thing he had seen when the coroner utilized the technique. Looking like nothing more than a small blue flickering mass of chakra covering the tip of the fingers down to just below the fingernails, he tried to do the exact same thing. While forming chakra over his fingertips was really not that much to really be proud of as he had this down in roughly three seconds, making it do what it was meant to do was somewhat harder.

(Final Training Post: Part 2)

Right now, it was just an intangible mass of chakra, for as he touched the table with it, nothing happened at all. If he had gotten it right on the first try, he would have at least cut into the wood a little bit, just like the coroner could cut through small sections of flesh and muscle at a time. Figuring it might be wiser to take things outside so he wouldn't accidentally carve up his dining table more than intended, he got into the backyard where he got greeted by Hiroto, whom Hamura had recently brought back to the Hidden Cloud with him. Tossing him a piece of beef jerky to keep it from screeching, Hamura went to the wooden shed. Here, he could probably try and not worry about breaking things.

Focusing chakra to the tips of his fingers again, he pushed it up against the side of the shed, but again nothing happened. Closing his eyes, he focused on making the chakra more dense, though this only seemed to push his fingers away from the wall and keep him from closing the one inch distance between the tips of his fingers and the wooden exterior of the shed. Feeling like he was on the right track, he maintained the same density but focused on the primary principles of wind natured chakra by attempting to make it thin and sharp. Even though wind was not one of the elemental natures he possessed, it was a good thing that he had paid attention during class when the topic was discussed in detail for those that did.

As he did so, he felt his fingers sinking into the wooden plank he was pushing them against almost effortlessly. Pulling his hand back, it seemed that there was a small incision made in the wood, meaning that his attempt at mimicking the teachings of wind had done its job. With a smug expression on his face, he brought his fingers back to the planks and decided to scribble something into it. Gently moving his fingertips along the wooden shed, he managed to actually draw something into the wood itself, though there was little to no resistance at all, proving just how useful this technique was. It was at that moment that he knew why the coroner chose to utilize this technique and not an actual scalpel.

Quite pleased with his rapid progress leading up to him learning a new technique, he figured that he should really go to the store soon. Since the only thing he had gotten to eat were two small specks of beef, five boiled eggs and a piece of stale bread, restocking the fridge and the pantry was not the worst decision he had ever made. Shutting down the flicker of chakra on the tip of his fingers, he figured that controlling this technique would be enough for now, and that he could always continue training it at a later point that day or even the day after. One thing was certain, he was going to put more effort into it and make it his own, he just didn't know when he'd have the time for it.

Preparing himself to leave the house, he heard a loud screeching above the house, but chose not to mind. It was probably just Hiroto, as this was the only sound he could truly pick up at the time. Part of his trained ears was the fact that he could easily differentiate between familiar sounds, even from animal origins. However, his attention was attracted when he heard another shriek, this time sounded a lot deeper than that of Hiroto. Noticing a large black eagle chasing after Hiroto, it was not hard to differentiate between the albino falcon and the almost pitch black eagle. Putting up quite a fight, the faster and smaller falcon was likely defending its territory.

Readying a Shuriken in his hand, Hamura was prepared to strike the animal down if it was going to do anything to his falcon. That was when the eagle struck down the falcon with a mighty blow of its talons, causing some feathers to fly about and make the smaller bird lose altitude quickly. Not being bothered at all from the looks of it, the eagle simply went on his way, not at all interested in finishing what Hiroto had likely started. Knowing that he had to do something if he was to save Hiroto from plummeting to its death, he started running towards the edge of his backyard. As he did so, he formed several hand seals as he dashed from the fence onto the shed and was about to jump from there over the cliff that started right next to his home.

(Final Training Post: Part 2)

Finishing his hand seals just before he jumped, several clones appeared, one standing on the fence, one standing on the shed and the other three formed in mid air. Being the kind of suicidal thing one would only do for someone they cared about, he managed to catch the bird as it was falling past him, only for him to go down too. Given the fact that it was going to be a good few hundreds of meters down to the bottom, the one doing the autopsy would likely not be able to tell which splatters were his and which were Hiroto's. Still, the fact that he had managed to plan ahead in the three or four seconds he had after the falcon started plummeting had made for a somewhat stabile plan that just might keep him from becoming ground beef.

As the clones were formed, they had been brought about with a singular goal and mindset, interlocking and keeping their summoner from plummeting to a drawn out, yet instantaneous death upon impact. As the clone standing on the fence grabbed a hold of the one standing on the shed, the one on the shed managed to go forward just far enough to grab onto the third clone with both hands, creating a tight lock around his leg. The moment this took place, the third clone grabbed the fourth around the waist so he in turn could do the same for the fifth and final clone. Creating an interlocking system of clones, the last of the five clones grabbed Hamura by the legs so they would all collide with the cliff wall rather loudly. Barely managing to turn himself around so he would slam into it with his back and not with his face, as that would cause Hiroto more harm, the breath escaped his lungs on impact.

For a few seconds, the clones and Hamura were just hanging there, staring down into what could have easily been the end of all of them. That was when the slow process started and Hamura was gradually being pulled up by the two clones that were still standing on top of the shed by now. Since they were still not out of danger yet, Hamura shoved the bird into his coat a bit so he would have his hands free for potential hand seals, just in case they got dropped by accident. Luckily for both him and Hiroto, this was not the case as the clones managed to haul the whole lot of them in. As a new clone got up, he would help with pulling up the other, meaning a lot of hands eventually dragged him up by his feet and set him down on solid ground. Suddenly feeling the weight of what he had done, and what could have happened, he hoped he'd never have to do such a stupidly brave and borderline suicidal thing again.

Once the clones had finished lifting him up to the ground level, he laid on his back in the grass for just a few seconds. Needing to catch his breath and regain his composure due to having almost died, he did not have a whole lot of time to waste on himself as there was a more pressing matter that really needed his attention. Dispelling his clones after a job well done, he hurried inside and placed the bird onto the kitchen table. Knowing that it might get blood on it, which would in turn pull into the wooden table, it was but a small sacrifice to make if it meant he'd get to make his friend feel a bit better. Trying to find exactly where the wound had been inflicted, the fact that the bird was an albino made it real easy to locate where the wound was as the sanguine liquid colored the feathers like red dye in a pile of snow.

Due to overexertion and stress, all the bird was doing was panting and breathing heavily, not having the strength left to resist Hamura doing the best it could to make sure it'd survive the encounter with the black eagle. Rustling his fingers through Hiroto's feathers in order to get a better look at the actual wound, Hamura could tell that this hurt it a lot as it started squirming in an attempt to fight back. Making his job a whole lot harder, he let go of the bird and allowed it to go back to just sitting idly by and breathe heavily as it lost blood. Soon, it would pass out from the sheer amount of blood loss, which would allow Hamura to do his job. While this might have sounded like a good idea to some, it truly wasn't when one considered the facts.

When one lost too much blood, they could experience some rather negative side effects such as shock or slipping into a coma. Both of these were not on the list of things Hamura could really deal with, as he himself had been in a coma for almost a year and that was not something a bird with a far shorter life-span than a human would make it out of. Once an animal like that suffered from the muscular atrophy that came with being in a coma for a long time, chances of it ever flying again or being able to get food would be slim to none, meaning it would still end up dying. Knowing that this was something he had to prevent at all costs if he was to save his soon-to-be falconry partner, he had to use a technique he had mostly forgotten about due to it having little to no combat applications whatsoever.

(Final Training Post: Part 2)

He knew that he had been trained to perform a medical technique that was incredibly simple in nature that allowed the user to ease the pain of the one they used it on nearly instantaneously. By using his chakra in a way that basically fooled the senses into thinking the pain was no longer there, it could greatly aid him in finding the wound Hiroto had sustained and putting an end to the bleeding. Already having all the things he needed in order to fix a flesh wound or a deep gash, he had made sure that he wouldn't need to work with household items such as a sewing kit again. This time, he had access to actual stitching needles and thread, meaning the actual fixing up would not be much of a problem. Trying to remember as much as he possibly could about the technique, he channeled chakra into his arm, causing a faint glow.

Placing his hand unto the stomach of the unsuspecting avian, it was clear that the technique was working and did not actually make matters worse. Once the pain disappeared, the bird seemed to almost instantly fall asleep as its breathing slowed down to normal, acceptable levels. Now that it was properly passed out, Hamura began the slow process of stitching the animal up, which was not as hard as it was when he had to perform the procedure upon himself without anesthesia. Slipping the needle in and out, it only took him a few minutes to close up the wound and place a soft patch over it. Tightening the patch with some bandaging, he would need to make sure to keep the bird sedated for a while to make sure that it would not peck at the bandages or make an attempt at ruining the stitches.

If it did, there was still a chance that it might still bleed out and die, and that was not something Hamura would like to see happen, not after all the trouble he had gone through. Hell, he had almost died trying to keep the bird from plummeting to his death in a ravine, so he would not allow any of this. While keeping it sedated would likely make it grumpy once it ran out after a day or two, though that was a risk he was willing to take, and something he might be able to fix with some pieces of beef jerky. For now at least, the danger had been circumvented and the albino peregrine falcon would get to live another day at the very least. Tomorrow, he would need to check up on the bird again and hopefully the stitches could come out a few days after today, saving both him and Hiroto from having to mind the bandaging.

That night, Hamura had a lot of trouble sleeping. Earlier that day, he had been practicing a jutsu that might help him out during his part-time job working in the local morgue. Not long after that, he almost had to bury something he considered to be a friend of his, even though it wasn't even human and likely did not even understand the concept of it. Not even mentioning the fact that he almost died doing something impulsive that might have caused him to plummet to an instant death down in the valley below, a place where his body, or what was left of it at least might never be recovered. This was quite a lot to take in for someone his age, though it was not like this was the first time that Hamura had been given something on which he should take time in to contemplate.

Near-death experiences were always something to be dreaded, though they were also something one should celebrate for one very simple reason, the fact that they did not die. If they had died, there would be no need for contemplation as there would be nothing left for them but the cold embrace of death that sentenced their body to rot in the ground or burn in a large furnace. As such, one could really do nothing other than sit around and sulk about having almost died, or run the event through their mind and make the sensation their own. After all, Hamura was a Shinobi, and getting close to death was something he'd eventually need to get used to if a war or a skirmish broke out. Hell, even as a Genin, the chances of a missions escalating and people trying to kill him was not out of the question.

As such, he decided to keep what had happened in his head, to memorize the feeling of getting close to death and steeling his mind to it. Once he could get his mind around the concept of eventually dying, which every single human eventually would in one way or another, chances of him becoming a better Shinobi than he was now were highly probable. And so he would remain in his room, meditating on the subject of death and overcoming the fear of it. While it was likely not the kind of thing he could get his head around on the first try, actually trying and working on it was going to be the first step towards becoming a master over his own mind. Believing that mastering the mind was perhaps The greatest tool a Shinobi could have in their arsenal, he'd keep it at for several more hours before eventually going to sleep.

That night, sleep did not come easy to Hamura, as his mind was haunted by the idea of dying by being rash and coming up with a half assed plan that only barely saved his life. By the time he fell asleep, it felt like he instantly fell into a haunting nightmare in which he pictured himself laying in his bed, looking around the room. In his mind, there was nothing truly out of order as everything looked exactly like it did in the real world, and he did not realize that he was sleeping. The way he saw it, he was still twisting and turning around beneath the sheets as he was looking for a comfortable position to sleep in.

Being none the wiser as to his condition as he believed to be fully awake, it was then that the room started showing some rather peculiar developments. Out of the shadows in the further corners of the room, something started taking form. While it made no sound, it was clear that a figure stepped out of the darkness and gracefully walked over to his bed. Looking at the figure without being capable of moving, it was not long before he was standing right next to him. Just staring at him from the side of his bed, Hamura felt that he suddenly couldn't control his body anymore.

Laying completely paralyzed in his bed as the black figure stared down at him, it went as far as leaning forward and staring down right into Hamura's eyes. As Hamura stared back, he could not tell anything about who or what this person was, seeing only a pitch black shade with no distinguishable features such as a mouth, ears, a nose or even eyes. All he knew was that it most certainly stared at him, maybe into his very soul. Trying his hardest to move or speak, even his vocals had been completely shut off as he could not even blink his eyes or move an inch.

(Final Training Post: Part 2)

It was not until the shade tried to reach out for him that the feeling of complete and utter powerlessness reached a peak. Not knowing what else to do, he built up chakra inside of his body and just let it all run rampant in an attempt to purge whatever it was that was binding his body in place and kept him from even lifting a finger. As his chakra burst through his body, he could suddenly move around again, which he did by kicking off the covers and dashing out of bed. Moving to the door, he rushed into the hall in order to get to his tools.

Grabbing his Tanto, he set his sights on going right back into his room. Kicking against the partially opened door, he held his weapon in his right hand, prepared to fend off the shadowy intruder, only to find that there was no one there. Switching on the lights in the dark room, everything seemed to be normal and not out of the ordinary at all. Still, he was not at all happy or even remotely calm about this turn of events. Keeping his weapon handy, he made sure to check every dark corner and place where someone just might try and hide, including under his bed.

Whether it had been the burst of chakra that had cast the shade away, or if it had just been a figment of his imagination, it did not matter. He wasn't going to be sleeping anymore, though he did stay in bed. Sitting up on top of the covers as he shut off the lights, he had his Tanto laying next to him, waiting for the shade to come by again so he could kill it this time. Spending the entire night waiting for it to come back, it never actually did, much to Hamura's misfortune. The next morning, the first thing Hamura did was go to the library in order to read up on the subject of shadow apparitions popping up and leaving as fast as they came.

Finding a portion about sleep paralysis and shadow people, it turned out that there was a surprisingly large amount of lore in regards to these shades. While no one could say for sure what they were or if they were even real, they were directly linked to the topic of sleep paralysis, in which a person might think they are awake, but most of their body is still asleep, meaning they see everything in real time yet are incapable of moving and might still encounter things they saw in their dreams. While some stories stated that the shadow people were the dead trying to get closer to the relatives they left behind, there were also stories about them loathing the living and wanting to haunt them and lead them to suicide. All things considered, Hamura chose to remain mindful of it and just stick to the first explanation given

After sleeping for most of the morning in response to not sleeping all night, the young Shinobi had managed to put the nightly apparition behind him and readied himself for some training. Knowing that he had to go back to the morgue later that afternoon, he only had so much time to really do something other than sleep or wait around for the grass to grow. Figuring the best thing to do now would be to just elaborate on the techniques he already had, which would in turn allow him to add new tricks and potentially alternative uses into the tactics he had worked out in his mind.

Always trying to figure out new ways to make his techniques work with one another, he would always train his body to accommodate to it. Not long ago, he had been forced to train his ability to move around undetected when he had been chased down by wolves. At the time, he had no real way of fighting back against a pack of wild predators without running the risk of burning down part of the forest as fire style was really his only way of fighting back and dishing out some hits. Shortly after, he had taught himself the Hidden Mist Technique, which would allow him to build up a field of mist in which he could hide and silently set up opportunities for him to catch his enemies off-guard.

In this case, he had not so much been accommodating his body to a new technique, but rather the other way around as that was also a possibility. When he first tried his best to sneak around wolves, he had not really considered working it into an actual tactic as he had nothing to really work with, other than his Tanto and a few throwing knives, making whatever came from it a rather weak and uninspired tactic at best. But now that he could use the Hidden Mist jutsu for himself, the opportunity presented itself to him, along with the inspiration to follow through on it.

(Final Training Post: Part 2)

During his time in the academy, he had learned how to create the normal clones that had no physical form, and were for that reason not as useful as the physical ones, or so he thought. If he could manage to train his body to make little to no sound at all, to remain hidden inside of the mist, a forested area or even an urban area, using non-physical clones would make for the perfect distractions as they would force the enemy to remain mindful.
