    Inoryu watched as Satu continued to train his jumping skill and become more adept by the second. He enjoyed seeing the vibrant seior halos used as markers for his jumps and noticed that he would have the high bar to himself for some time. He had soared in the air to clear the 16 meter bar, but intuitively he knew he could clear further heights. He placed the bar at 20 meters and looked at the challenge. "As tall as many trees in the jungle," he thought as he stepped back, calmly, to eight meters for a running start. 
    
    He sprinted and leaped as hard as he could with the momentum gathered from the run. He propelled through the air quickly and began to slow as he came across the bar. He had turned in the air slightly so his back was turned to the bar at the apex of his jump and he arched his back as he passed over it. Eventually his entire body reached the other side completely and he began a free fall until his back collided gently into the mat. He felt eager to reach new heights.

    Inoryu pressed the button to raise the bar by a quarter meter. The sound of the machine whirred for just a second as the bar was raised to the new measure. He stepped back eight meters for a running start and took off in a sprint. He increased his speed, stored the energy in his legs and propelled himself through the air. He was turning slightly so he would arch his back to the bar at the apex of his jump. However, he sensed that he did not have enough momentum as he approached. By the time he was over the bar, he had already begun losing altitude. He tried kicking his legs up but they fell on the bar and knocked it off so that it landed beside him on the mat.

    Setting the bar at the same height, Inoryu was determined to beat it. He was gradually improving as he worked on the skill, his chakra more easily applied to his jumps the more he practiced so that he closed the gap between his skill and potential. Starting from eight meters away, he sprinted towards the high jump. Gathering the potential in his jump, he propelled upward through the air. This jump was slightly better than the last and he barely managed to clear the bar, touching it with his ankle but not causing it to fall. "Progress is progress, no matter how small the increment. One day it could save my life," he thought.

    Ryu decided to leave the bar at its current height and go at it again. This time he wanted to clear it without even a single touch. He prepared himself eight meters away and faced the challenge. With an inhale he crossed the span of six meters and propelled himself upward with all of his might. Turning ever so slightly as he ascended, arched his back over the bar and crossed it without a single touch. He noted he even had some room to spare before he began to descend gently towards the mat.

    In an effort to estimate his last jump, he pressed the ascend button and set the bar for 20 and a half meters. He thought that he might be exaggerating the height but decided to give it a shot. Taking position and breathing a single calming breath, he suddenly raced towards the bar. At one meter distance, he jumped as high as he could while turning slightly. The wind release: buffered by the air jutsu always made sure that he had proper placement at the apex of his jump so that it all came down to the force of his ascension. As he arched his back, the bar began to pass beneath him and he let out a surprised laugh. By the end of the transition, he had passed over the bar without touching it at all. He completed a back-flip as he descended with an improved confidence and landed gently with his feet safely on the mat.

    Inoryu again estimated his last jump and raised the bar for another half a meter. "21 meters up," he thought, "I can do this." He took a starting position eight meters away, took a calming breath, and focused only on the execution. His adrenaline was pumping to allow the maximum performance of his muscles. In a zen state, the action was also relaxation. Pumping his arms, he pressed his feet against the earth almost just below the bar and propelled himself upward with the might of his legs, shoulders and arms, fueled by his chakra. With perfect technique, he arched his back over the bar as he transitioned over it. He barely managed to clear it, then completed a back-flip to land firmly on the ground. He could feel his sweat falling from his brow as he stuck the landing.

    "Satu would rush into Inoryu as he landed the high jump, "That was amazing!" He would exclaim. "That was truly impressive to see Inoryu," Satu would collect his excitement and tell Inoryu to, "keep it up." Training their jumping abilities was bound to have usefulness in future missions. This was the best way to pass time for a beautiful afternoon in Kusagakure. Satu would complete another set of tumbles through the halo he set up and refine the finesse of his maneuvers overall. He was inspired by Inoryu's vast improvements and he summoned the strength to push himself thanks to the energy between the two determined shinobi.

    Taking the time to appreciate and understand his own body mechanics, Satu would take it down from pushing his limits. He would instead focus on his own bodies translation of the jumping process. He felt into his hips and legs as they swayed in the hinges of his muscular integrity. His arms swayed in the wind and also he would feel into each limb to get better acquainted with its fluid natural range of motion. He would hop in place. Five meters, then ten, then fifteen, then eighteen. He felt his own comfort had reached a limit at this point and stopped to breathe and stretch.

    It was such a beautiful day and the temperature being mild in Kusa no Kuni made for physical activity to be an easy undertaking when compared to the arid temperament of the Kaze sun Satu had been accustomed to. Satu again breathed deep and hopped in place up to eighteen meters and found he had reached the same limit of a point he began to experience fatigue. He would sip some water to hydrate and contemplate his body mechanics further in an attempt to understand what was halting his advancement when pushing his limit of fatigue.

    Satu would take a longer rest and lie down on his back extending his arms above his head to more deeply breathe into his diaphragm. This was how he would cool his body down in Kaze. It was bound to work well here in Kusa. He would lay there and allow his body to relax and sink his frustrations into the dirt under him. He appreciated the fruits of the day so far as lay motionless to restore his energy. He would stretch a bit but not exert himself to any means he would feel into his body for the time to resume. A few more moment slipped past as Satu breathed steadily in self care. He slowly rose up and dusted himself down as he was ready to continue his practice.

    Satu would jog in place to return to an active state. He would hop a few times as well. Then the hopping would become more-so purposeful. The height again steadily rose with each leap. He reached eighteen meters comfortably, then twenty, he reached twenty-two, then he felt fatigue. He made such an improvement. This was what he had anticipated as he crashed back into the earth under. What an incredible result, he would thank his body by again hydrating and taking some time to breathe. The halo stayed aloft above him and he smiled as it glowed above him marking his ascent.

    Satu was in love with the art of leaping and jumping and was beginning to honestly be really good at it. Inoryu also was now quite the accomplished jump man. The two had practiced hard and it was showing. Satu continued tracking his improvements with his halo and would also use them to long jump and tumble and press forward his efforts to jump with incredible finesse and grace. The practice truly made for perfection in this case as he cleaned up his abilities to a razor edge. Satu was proud of himself and Inoryu, very much so.

    Inoryu was proud of how far Satu and he had come. With his task of getting Satu settled into the village complete, he would part from his pupil for some time to work on crafting him a suit of armor that best addressed his role as a medic. He had procrastinated long enough the most effective tricks of the trade according to the legendary book he had tracked down and acquired. "I have some business to attend to. I will be away toiling in The Shining Seed for some time, but when I return I will have something for you."

    Satu would hug Inoryu tightly, "Thank you for all you have done for me. I promise to continue my efforts until you return. I suppose for now I will go train more" he would say to Inoryu before bowing to bid him farewell and safe journey. Satu would see another Kusa nin training in the feild and ask for assistance from him. He would oblige and Satu would assume a bull stance. "May you help me with training my resistances?" The other nin would catch on and run and grab a wooden rod from a bin near by. He would ask Satu, "K are you ready?" Satu would affirm with a steady "Yep,". The kusa nin would begin softly and increase his force per strike each time he hit Satu.

"What is your name?" Satu would ask him.

"I am Thomas what is your name?" he asked Satu.

"Utahhikari-Satu", Satu replied.

"Oh my last name is Kincaid" Thomas added.

    The two would talk idly as Satu endured each blow. The conversation helped Satu to negate the relentless pummel of the rod. He would keep his breathe steady and release his air upon recieving a hit by the rod to better absorb its kinetic pressure.

    Thomas continued to steadily beat the rod against Satu like a drum. His thigh, then his obliques, the other thigh, and finally his back. Satu would absorb each blow with an air of increasing resilience. Thomas would ask periodically if Satu wanted to continue. Satu would agree and Thomas would resume his rhythmic pummeling of the Kusa medic. Satu was really starting to feel the sting of the rod as it firmly met with his skin. He would be diligent in this effort to raise his effectiveness when needed in the future. This training was not just for him, he was training to one day save someone's life. This thought would make his steadfastness all the more stalwart in the barrage of strikes from Thomas, "Harder," Satu would tell him. "I need to be ready for anything."

    Satu would return to the barracks that night after the day had ended. He would hit the showers and gasp as the water met his body. The pain was almost unbearable for him. He would elude that maybe he pushed himself a little too much to make the progress he had. In any event he would thoroughly moisturize to eliminate the bruises he had acquired fro the days practice. Utilizing his medical jutsu he would hold healing hands over himself to rejuvenate and relax his aching body.

    The following morning he would rise early and meet with Thomas to train further into his resistances. Thomas would wave in his direction. Satu would return the gesture and lightly jog to meet with him. "What are those?" These are cannisters of tear gas and today we will use them in your training." a smirk across Thomas' face for his reveal for to Satu. The medic would consider the arduousness of this and cautiously agree. Thomas slipped on a gas mask and fetched the wooden rod they used the previous day.

    Satu would assume the horse stance and tell Thomas, "Ok I'm ready." Thomas would set off one of the cannisters and begin slapping Satu with the rod. Satu would begin to cough and Thomas would stop to check his friend was alright, "Keep going," Satu instructed him. The tears would begin pouring down Satu's eyes as the sting from the gas intensified. He would slow his breathing to better regulate the amount he inhaled and bink his eyes to use his tears as an advantage to cleanse the thick smoke.

    Thomas would beat into Satu's sides and stay ready with ointments to that would nullify the gas' effect on Satu as soon as Satu would tell him. The pain was intense and Satu could not take anymore , "I'm done, I'm DONE!" He would yell as he trotted clear from the smoke. Applying the ointment Thomas would assist Satu in quickly recovering from the smoke out session. After Satu had readied himself he would look at Thomas and ask, "Again?"
