Ando left the village and entered the surrounding area to train nearby, he found a suitable area with enough water. He knew which technique he wanted to learn and had already thought of a three stage training session to learn the technique. The first stage was to use his water release to manipulate the water into a straight, almost rope like column of water.
Ando walked up to the water source and performed a series of handseals. He began to concentrate his chakra to rise the water out of the ground as needed. The water begin to rise vertically as a thing column however as it reached about two feet in length the water broke apart and fell back into the pool as tiny droplets. He had used to much chakra to hold the shape and in effects caused it to explode from the inside.
He tried again this time trying to hold less chakra for a longer period of time. The water rose again from the center of the pool as it began to rise it suddenly broke apart again, falling back down. Ando was finding it difficult to concentrate his chakra to hold the thin structure needed for the technique. He knew however that with practice this would be almost second nature.
He tried a third time this time as the column rose up his gradually increased the chakra supply to compensate for the increased area of the water. As the technique reached almost 6 feet it stopped and began to bubble out of control, the suface of the column began to randomly move about as Ando struggled to find the correct concentration of chakra to maintain the position. The column suddenly stopped as Ando regained control.
However he had just reached over 6 foot when the technique crumbled from the bottom up. He has been so busy concentrating on keeping the top part stable that he had neglected his chakra in the bottom half. Despite his failed attempts he continued and continued the first half of the training until the column has reached around 8 feet. At this point he felt as though he could hold the technique at any length.
Now was time for the second part of the training, this was to hold the length of the water at 8 feet and make it move and bend from its usual rigid position. As he held the water at 8 feet he began to use his chakra to bend and move in a snake like pattern, curving from left to right or a complete full circle. However keeping the water together like this was proving difficult and the technique continued to break apart.
