Jod Muay
Rank: "E" Rank
Type: TaiJutsu
Effect: The basic posture of the Muay Thai Style. The basic posture needed in order to move on into the more advanced techniques of the Muay Thai style. The Jod Muay is the basic step of defending but Muay is the martial art that uses the eight limbs, two hands, two shins, two knees, and two elbows to fight the opponent.
Special: ---
Drawback: ---
Description: Picture The leading foot should be pointed straight, while the other is positioned to angle at ninety degrees whilst raising the heel of the back foot. Both the knees and the body are straight, designed to create posture. Arch the back backwards slightly. This allows power to be generated for the legs. The chin must remain in the same posture as the shoulders; in essence, this means that the user must lower their chin to be level with the shoulders, while raising the shoulders and the arms for guarding purposes. The next step is to grasp the hands, keeping them raised to face level, crafting a guard with the forearms to allow defending against oncoming attacks. The eyes are straight forward, locking onto the opponent's abdomen for full view of oncoming strikes against the upper or lower body.
Limit: Must learn from a Muay Thai Master.
The natural light of the sun seemed so foreign, Ju thought to himself as he looked out the window. His healing arm and bruised and cut face were the physical testimony to the slaughter that he and his surviving partner had experienced. He sat quietly in one of the hospital chairs next to the beeping monitor that read the life vitals of the patient in the bed he was waiting on. He was exhausted, his right arm hanging in a sling and his swollen left eye made it hard to see. He thought back to only 48 hours prior, where their lives as experiments ended, along with their childhood. He took his free hand and hid his face as he coughed, remembering all the things that had passed.
*Flashback*
It was dark, the strange rooms that all the experiments had been taken too smelled of rubbing alcohol and medicine. He tried to calm himself down. The realization that he was going into combat was weighing pretty heavily on him, but in an attempt to recompose as the doors to these small chambers were being opened, he got into a familiar fighting posture. They had all received some training in hand to hand combat, but never did Ju in his life ever expect to use it. The good thing about poor hearing is that you get to enjoy the silence when you want it. It was going to be difficult. He raised his hands up to his face and squared his feet up as he prepared for attacking foes that he once thought of as friends and siblings. He could still see the baton wielding guard who was prepping them for their very battle royal style combat. They received their instructions and were expected to follow through with it. Throwing a few quick jab like punches, he attempted to let his composure recollect. He wouldn’t have to kill anyone, or at least what he was trying to do. Taking a deep breath, he also threw a few elbows and knees.
He was trained in the art of Muay Thai, one of the fighting arts from the land of water. He had been practicing a few months prior to all this fighting that was now taking place. He could see the metal door opening as a countdown began to count from five. He kept his posture a little longer, letting his training sink in. He was making sure that he hadn’t forgotten anything. He didn’t want to die after all. He was angry at this damn facility, at all the people making him do this horrible thing, yet he also felt his internal rage driving him to fight. His Muay Thai was going to keep him alive. As the door final opened and the count hit one he prepared to dash, letting his stance melt away as he heard the buzzer ring and ran out into the arena. All he was armed with was his black tank top shirt, Dark Green combat pants, and a black pair of combat boots. They would have to collect weapons if they wanted them…but Ju had Muay Thai so…no weapons? He thought to himself as he began sprinting towards the center, along with 24 other super charged individuals.
